It also messes with you mentally. I don't want to buy an XL top if I normally wear a L. I know in my head that every top is made differently. But sometimes it is just hard to buy that XL. -
Emory is amazing. She is correct. You couldn't ask for a better group of folks.

I have a surgeon!

Dr Davis works with my surgeon Dr Lin. He assisted with my surgery. They are the best. Dr Singh is now my specialist. I only met with him once so far but I like him too. He is down to earth and easy to talk to. -
Can I REALLY go through with this?

This is just temporary. There are lots of different Bariatrix Advantage products available online. Like everything else, some are good and some are awful. Give it a chance. -

Still trying to decide

Hi and welcome. I'm 4' 11'' and now weigh ~174 pounds. I had the gastric sleeve surgery performed at Emory in Atlanta. I have to be honest the first couple days after surgery are the worst. But it all gets better. It also takes hard work to get the weight off. It just doesn't fall off on its own. And you will need support. As much support as you can get. The best thing is how it has changed my life. I was (keyword is WAS) a diabetic, had high blood pressure, and a few other minor health problems. Now I just take my Vitamins and supplements. Oh, and my happy pills. Other than that and the fact that I still need to lose another 50 pounds, my health is great. -
My doctor is upset with me. My bloodwork results are pretty good. My cholesterol was a little high because I haven't been eating right. But I haven't been taking my Caltrate Petites like I am supposed to. They make me terribly constipated. Sorry for the TMI but I really need some suggestions so I can take this supplement without the side effects. Anyone?

When did your toughest weight loss plateau occur?
Georgia Sleeve replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
The first 10-12 months was good. But then I fell off the wagon. Didn't help the holidays were around my one year point either. Gonna get back up and keep losing on. -
Got a problem and who else to go to but all of you. I'm supposed to be taking two Caltrate petites a day. However, I can't because they give me the worst stomach cramps and constipation. (Sorry, I know TMI). My doctor wants me to take it still even though all my labs look good (all 17 tubes of blood those vampires took). What can I do about the cramps and constipation? PS. My dietician informed me not to take my Vitamins at the same time as my Calcium. She said that it interferes with the absorption of the vitamins.

Always Hungry And Cant Stop Eating Carbs
Georgia Sleeve replied to suzy1230's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Don't get discouraged. I'm addicted to sugar too. My surgeon gave me a Rx to help with the snacking. I've only lost 45-50 since my surgery. It will all be ok. I have faith in us. -
Had my sleeve done November 2011. I have lost only 50 pounds since then. Not complaining. I have fallen off the wagon. Need some encouragement and help. I have 50 more pounds to go. Love the new me so far. Just wish there was still less of the new me in the mirror.

I understand your frustration. My primary care physician told me something one time that may help ease your mind. He told me that when you stop losing pounds on the scale or stall, then you will begin to notice the difference in your clothes. Don't get discouraged it will work out shortly. -
Can't explain. But try some Benadryl or hydrocortisone cream.

I had my sleeve surgery November 2011. I've had some health problems lately (not related to the surgery). I have Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA). I need to get back on track with everything. Diet, exercise, everything. I bought a treadmill. Need support and suggestions. Kind of depressed. I have lost 50 pounds but have another 50 to go. Time to get busy and serious about everything.
