Ok, confession.....I have had pb off the spoon and I'm in the liquid phases. I have a tablespoon and it takes me an hour to.lick it all. It barely coats my tongue and then I smash it around on the roof of my mouth. It it liquid by then. For me, I'm really concerned about only consuming a few hundred calories a day, so the pb helps to boost that. I've only had it twice though and I'm 10 days post op.

I'm enjoying pb right off the spoon now, but know its because I'm early out from surgery and am actually trying to boost calories becasue I can consume so little. So when I am eating more, the pb goes back to a once I awhile treat!

I am up to 60 grams. I drink 2protien shakes a day, which gives me an automatic 50, they are 25 each. It will be harder once moving to food. I can't wait to got off the shakes, they seem so fake to me!

I am down another 6 pounds and I am still swollen, total 42 pounds now. I'm not going to get discouraged when that goes up after returning to solid food and getting more calories. I figured I had to lose this week, I have had very little to "eat". Good luck on your visit.

Today I drove to the doctor, weighed in, went to the library, and walked on the treadmill for 15 minutes at a very slow pace. I feel like I worked a full day!! But since this is my first 24 hours off the pain meds I decided to drive. Felt ok, but slow going. Ate 12ounces of soup today, super excited to see progress there. STill only getting about 600 calories a day in though, but not really worrying about that right now. Enjoying these cream soups that I would never eat normally, but I figure when you are hardly eating anything at all, I can have it.

The fluids do get better. I am drinking really well now, but the first day I was dying trying to get it all in. You just have to go slow. You will notice you can drink a little more each time and each day

I was very nervous too. I rode the roller coaster of emotions and went up and down and up and down. I am experiencing that same thing now too that I am home recovering. Dont feel dumb, this is a huge decision and I think if we went in lightly and prepared for surgery day as if we were taking a trip to the mall, there would be something wrong with us.

That is absolutley what I feel, very annoying because nothing helps. The heat helps but it is only temporary, as soon as I remove the heat, it comes back. I also have a sharp pain in my neck that worries me. I think it is all gas, but it is going on day 6 for me with gas and it is bad! Oh, hot tea helps but also temporary.

Protein Shake This Morning
Jackie's girl replied to donna12's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have the same as you plus the chocolate. The chicken is ok and of course the unflavored I will use more on the mushy stage because I can do in applesauce and things like that. It is the chocolate I don't care for, but it is only temporary. -
I am drinking mostly soup, tea, water, protien shakes. I did cut out the broccoli soup, creamy soups, and dairy be ause I'm sure they are adding to the gas.

I am really anxious to get back to church next Sunday, and yes I have had visitors which really helps. I have been walking outside with the dog a little. Today is really the first day I feel up to doing something like watching a movie or reading a book. As a single person I am on the go all the time, so part of my problem is just knowing what I normally would be doing and trying to realize that I need to relax. The driving restriction keeps me from overdoing it. I'm a teacher and by next week when I return to work, I will want this time back. So I'm trying to enjoy it now that I don't feel as bad. Thanks for the suggestions!

I think so, may not help that I am drinking things that contribute to the gas.

Protein Shake This Morning
Jackie's girl replied to donna12's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No I only ordered the unjury and I have gnc shakes, which I like. -
I'm not sure if what I feel is restriction or not since my swelling is still going down. I feel tight and gassy after I drink. I have to do liquids for two full weeks. I am not hungry at all, actually have to force myself to eat...that's new! No desire for food at all. I just want to get out of this house. I live alone and it is very hard and depressing to be here all day and night! I also have bad pain in my back and can't seem to figure out what that is from.

Um, About That Gas...
Jackie's girl replied to OldMomOf3's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My gas has been bad. Comes out from the top and bottom, either way, I welcome it. I am a teacher also and my doc said i should take 2 weeks. This time I'm going to listen. I have had surgeries before and am pretty sickly with colds and bad allergies. I always go back too early, and regret it. Not this time. Good luck to you.
