Before and After Pics
tmartinx4 replied to Roserie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We both are sleeved! Amazing transformation for both of us! My SW 278 CW 193! 8 months post op! Love it!!! -
Totally normal! It's called Telogen Effluvium. I'm four months out & my hair has been falling out for a few weeks. Your hair follicles went into shock with surgery and now the new hairs are coming through pushing out the old. Give it some time!

Eat or drink protein?
tmartinx4 replied to Takingcontrol's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon was against the drinks/shakes as well. He never pushed to take in a certain amount of protein daily either. He wanted protein to be eaten first when i did eat. I haven't had a protein drink at all since surgery and I'm 3 months out!! -
Nov Sleevers... What's Your Status?
tmartinx4 replied to Yasmine's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
DOS 11/19 and I can still only eat a 1/3cup of food at a time, however its usually 4-5 times a day. It still takes me a good 15-20mins to eat too. I've lost 38lbs so far!!! -
Nov Sleevers... What's Your Status?
tmartinx4 replied to Yasmine's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on the 19th and have lost 26lbs since!! My doctor doesn't push protein shakes or require a certain amout of protein to take in. His recommendations at this stage are lentil soups, mashed potatoes, refried beans, greek yogurt, pea soups, ect.....I tried a shredded hard boiled egg but it didn't go over so well. I hoping to try again next week. I tried a couple bites of chicken today and chewed the heck out of it and did fine. Dealing with the head hunger more! It's hard to think your full after a couple bites of something simple. I'm looking forward to trying chicken salad this week to get some more protein in. Love reading everyones progress & menus!!!! -
Best Foods Olive Oil Mayo is great!!!! My family switched to it months before being sleeved. Give it a try!!
-
I was sleeved the 19th too. I haven't had issues with temps. I've used SF popsicles, hot chicken broth, jello ect..... Are you taking it in too fast? It's really hard to eat slow! Can you really eat jello to slow? Call your doctors office ASAP!!! Getting dehydrated will cause you to go back in to the hospital!

Surgery Tomorrow- November 19Th
tmartinx4 replied to blessedw2's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I think it's funny how different the doctors are! Some people on liquid meds where I'm on pills! I'm on clear liquids for a week, which sounds ok today but I'm sure after a couple more days I'll be more than ready to move on. I just went on a walk around the block which felt pretty good. I'm pretty bloated so I'm not to worried about my weight, yet. I have a lot of Water bottles all over to keep me hydrated as well as plenty of Jello & popsicles. My incision at my belly button is irritating a little, tonight I think I'll try the heating pad on my side. -
Surgery Tomorrow- November 19Th
tmartinx4 replied to blessedw2's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was sleeved late on Monday the 19th and home by 6:30pm on tuesday. I slept in a recliner last night, which wasn't all that comfortable. My arms are hurting! I've had the evil sharp gas pains in my shoulder that come and go. I'm afraid to take pills but wasn't given any other options. Clear liquids are going down well. Wishing I could lay down in my bed! I know each day will get better! How is everyone else??? -

tmartinx4 replied to Yasmine's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm from Fresno too! I'm scheduled on the 19th but not at Kaiser. I have heard good things though. I'm using ALSA group! Are you having to do a per-op diet? My doctor doesn't require one, well just a 24hr one. I've got 10 days to go!! You will do AWESOME!!! -

tmartinx4 replied to Kerinilla's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats! I too am waiting to be approved! I'm penciled in on the 16th of November!!!! -
I've just started the journey and I have found that I'm easily disgusted by food now, but it doesn't stop me from eating! I often think during a good meal "can I give this up?", "why am I eating ALL of it"??? So confusing, I'm battling food? FOOD? It's always available, satisfying, bad for you, good for you.......No wonder we can't stop! How did I lose control to food?
-
Thank you all for your responses. I agree with it being a "head" issue. But I also feel it's about convince too. I get stuck in a rut of what to eat, cook and buy. I haven't really cooked much this past year and I think it's because I'm cooking the comfort type of food for so long that I'm not sure how to make those changes. I love to bake which doesn't help either!
