Hi thanks for your input, please keep me updated on your port surgery, I am scheduled on 9-19 and a bit nervous.

Thanks new me for your encourgement. The longer this journey goes, the more I learn about it. Now I have been told that the band cannot stay inside us forever? Get differint information on various fronts. I was so frustrated gaining my weight back , as I was thinking of having bypass or just take it out altogether. Came to my conclusion that my band is already there, might as well make it work again.

I am scheduled for Port revison surgery in a couple weeks. My band stopped working in January 2012. I was banded in July 2006, lost about 80 lbs, had no issues. About 2 years ago, I feel off the wagon, as my addiction to fast food came back. I slowly gainned back about half my weight loss. Anyway....I was hoping to get back on track this year, but since I had no restriction, I am sad to say I have gainned back ALL MY WEIGHT. So now after all these years, of watching what I eat, throwing up at many restruants, side of the road while driving, I am back at square one. I was told earlier this year my port had a leak, then found out that the tubing leading to the band had a kink in it? So now having port and tubing replaced in a couple weeks. I am wondering as anyone else had this surgery? I am told its a out patient procedure, and I go home same day. Was wondeing what your expiernces were with this? How long do I wait for a fill? Do I get it same day, or have to wait? Thanks for reading this, This is my last chance to make this work....

Thanks everyone for all your advise....I didnt mention that I have gainned back all my weight in last 12 months. Part is my own fault part is band's as I have had no restriction since Jan.12. I didnt know that stomach may have heal after band is removed, I guess from all the stiches as it was sewed in during inital surgery. I dont think I can weight that long for stomach to heal, so leaning towards fixing the band. This whole weight loss surgery process has been a major ordel, Thinking twice about everything,

Hi, After 6 years with the band, and losing about 80lbs, I started gaining weight. Went to my doc in January was told Band had a leak? Went to get a 2nd opnion, had a florascopy done, Now I find out band has a kink in it, in the tubing. So my choices are: Get band fixed. Replace band with new one? Take it out? Doc want me to have By-pass? I went to another web site, Obesity help .com. most on there say when they have had band issues, and got it fixed, It was never the same as after original surgery. Wondering if anyone out there has had a revision surgery from Band to Bypass and how your doing? My doc says Ill loose 100 lbs in 6 months if I do it, plus loose my diabetes. ANY THOUGHTS? Thanks,,,,I need it.
