  1. Could you wear a normal bra with the location of the incisions? I definitely need one and can't be walking around with the "bags" hanging down. I'm packing a comfy bra but that's more for sleeping as it really does not provide any real support.
  2. I'm very nervous right now. I had to get up early as I have to be at the hospital at 8am for a 10am surgery. Wish me luck everybody!
  3. Are oversized yoga pants OK? I'm worried about the incision but I hate having my tushie hanging out in the hospital gowns. LOL
  4. This forum has been really great for me. Lots of information and the people are great!
  5. That has got to be so frustrating! I wish you the best of luck. And I agree with the above poster: go totheir office if you have to.
  6. I think it all depends on your relationship with your boss. I have two bosses. One I'm really comfortable with and told him the truth. The other one thinks that I'm just taking some sick time due to a "medical reason that I have to take care of" and I left it at that. However, I did find that when I told my co-workers many of them thought that the surgery is a great idea and are sending their prayers my way. It's all up to you. The above posters are right. HIPAA laws protect you from having to reveal what type of surgeries you are having so that may just solve your problem right there.
  7. The first time I had a sleep study (about five years ago) was a nightmare. They couldn't get any results because I "didn't sleep enough." Duh! That's why I was in a sleep study in the first place. LOL. The second time I used a prescription sleep medication (Ambien) to help me through the night and it worked like a charm. Maybe use an OTC sleep med or ask your doc for a prescription. Sometimes that's the only way to deal with all those wires.
  8. Wow. My doctor must be the weird one. No pre-surgery diet (besides the don't eat 12 hours before the surgery thing). He said it wasn't necessary. Interesting.
  9. Thanks for bringing this up. I'm having my surgery on the 15th and have to be back to work on the 26th. There isn't any choice in the matter because I don't get sick or vacation days. I'm actually doing the surgery over my spring break (I'm a college professor). I hope that we both can make it during these short recovery times.
  10. My husband is very nervous that I'll lose most of the weight in my 44I (yes, that's an I) breasts. I'm kind of looking forward to fitting back into "normal" sized clothes by having a much smaller breast size. I'll take the "rocks in socks" over the "boulders" I have now.
  11. I'm having it done at Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, NJ. My doctor is Dr. Douglas Ewing.
  12. My surgery is on the 15th and my husband is having issues with me having the surgery. He's mainly worried about my health but also how it is going to affect him. I told him we'll just be eating healthier and smarter, something that we both need to do. In all honesty, I'm hoping that the positive changes that will occur with my body will motivate him to make some positive changes in his lifestyle. We're not talking a different language but maybe a different dialect.

    Surgery Date 03/14/12

I'm almost a surgery buddy as mine is the next day. I'm nervous as all heck too, so much so that my stomach has been a bit wonky the past few days. Good luck with your surgery!
