Sheryl- I sure will get you the diet info. I've heard really good things about the doctors at Methodist. My insurance doesn't cover there, so I am looking at both Abbott and Fairview-U of M. I have the Abbott informational meeting on Friday and the Fairview one next Wednesday so I'll have both sets of info. I'm pretty sure I DON"T want to have it at Abbott- I call there and you can't even talk to a person and they won't even give you the time of day if you haven't attended their info seminar. When I called Fairview- I talked directly to the doctor's secretary and I at the info session they have, you actually have a one-on-one with the doctor. What a difference! May I ask you a question? Hi there...I live in Northfield Minnesota. Where are you having your surgery? The date is so soon- how are you feeling? Are you a member of the Obesity Surgery Support Group in Minnesota? Most are RNY folks, but it's nice to have people who have worked with the same doctors. Best of luck, and let me know how I can be supportive! I'm in the pre-pre stage- going to the informational meeting at Abbott this Friday. I'm SOO ready to get the ball rolling. Megan

I'm still in the pre- pre band stage. I'm 95% sure my insurance will cover everything, but being the researcher that I am, I like to have a back up. Would any of you mind sharing the cost of the procedure if it's done in Mexico? What do you do for fills after you return? Thanks! Megan

I put my scale in the trunk of my car. If I REALLY need to check it, it's available. But, I'm not going to walk outside with my pajamas on to check. Just an idea :-). From what I've read from- especially new lapBanders- the scale is going to stay there if I have the surgery! Keep the wonderful stories coming. It gives me hope that I'll join your ranks one day. My "View" of Star Jones is that she's quite a know-it-all so, it wouldn't be suprising if she has some idea in her head and won't think of alternatives :-). I'm sure none of us are EVER like that :-) Megan

I saw Sharon on "The View". She said she had the band...and even let Joy feel it! That's actually what convinced me to start looking into it! Megan
