June 24th! Any late June surgeries?

June 23rd in Houston. -
The bariatric advantage powdered ones are really, really good but expensive. My doc recommends premier protein pre-made shakes from sams also. About 18.00 and doesnt taste bad, 160 cals and 30g protein with low carbs. Definately have had much worse. Good luck.

June 23rd RNY in Houston..... anyone else?
jenn298 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The date is finally approaching. Part of me feels like it has taken forever and part of me feels like it is flying. I have mixed emotions. The liquid diet isnt bad, a 2 week one for me. Mine is scheduled in Houston for 6/23. Its about a 2 hour drive from me so I am contemplating staying the night before because the drive in would be nerve-racking lol. Too long to think. I have done this before with a different surgeon in 2012 I had the sleeve done. It went well for 7 months and then problems. My current surgeon explains that the blood vessels and nerves were not separated correctly and I also have a dilation on an improper staple line on my upper sleeve and terrible acid and bile reflux. Guess I should have been concerned the first time when there was no leak testing or any other testing done after surgery to make sure the surgery was healing properly. Well that is in the past and there is nothing i can do to change it so i must move forward and concentrate on the present and future. I am nervous to have the RNY because my previous surgeon talked me out of it and into the sleeve. Maybe that should have been a red flag. Basically he scared me out of it. Long story short, I am excited to get the reflux of bile and acid corrected and have additional weight loss finally but so scared. My current and amazing surgeon who has walked me through all the testing and questions has been wonderful to subside my fears and correct misinformation I received before. Anyone else have the same date or location? -

10 months out and stuck in a rut

Ok guys. Just want to let you know I am in this boat with you. I have had set backs since October and need to get in track. The first step is knowing what is wrong and it sounds like we all have that in common. Now we have to move past the bad decisions and not look back. One step at a time right? -

It really sounds like this surgery was meant to be for you. Right timing You are very fortunate I have been very lucky with mine as well I had a very fast recovery with no complications. I do still take nexium every day as well to prevent reflux but I have never had a problem. I think my doc kept me in it to prevent any issues. I don't mind. That's amazing that you were able to get off all our meds so quickly. I was fortunate not to have the co-morbidities but I was well on my way. All my tears were borderline before surgery. I was teetering between needing meds and not needing meds for blood pressure and sugar. -

I had the sleeve done. How about you? I was too scared to go the bypass route. It is so hard to talk to the young ones sometimes because it really is a whole different situation in your 40s than 20s I got off track originally when we went in a cruise and I started sampling food between my meals. Then one thing led to another and when I lost my mom in September it sent me to the point that I was so preoccupied with everything going on (my dad Has Lou gherigs disease also and they love in Ohio) and I had to travel to Ohio and stay for two months and I really let all my needs be put on a back burner. My mom and I were very close and I have hard time with grieving and I find comfort in food without thinking. oh and also I forgot to mention. I can't eat much either but I can eat frequently. And all the wrong food choices. I take complete blame for that. There are so many other things that have happened this past year and it all built up and I just didn't care anymore. I am ready to start fresh for 2014. -

Hmm. Where to start. I had surgery on 3/26/12 and was 293. Right now I am around 224 but have had many setbacks and have been off track. I am 41 and I have three boys ages 15, 20 and 22. I also have my 4 year old granddaughter full time since my oldest son moved back in and is going through a divorce. I was going to the YMCA but now am getting no exercise at all so needless to say the losing has stopped. I have gotten back I to snacking habits instead of meals and I am working in changing my bad habits. So far this week I have stuck to my plan but still need to get in some exercise some how. That is my goal for next week Stay in track and add exercise. I am 5'6" and would like to reach somewhere at , around or under 150 lol. No hard number set right now. M next goal is to get into onederland. -

that is not very far at all. How do you exercise because I have gotten out is that routine but am considering rejoining the YMCA in PA. If you don't mind I ask who was your surgeon and when was surgery and also how much did you have to lose and how far do you have to go. -

I'm looking or a buddy to help keep me on track. I am in southeast Texas about 30 minutes southeast of beaumont. I was sleeved in March 2012 by dr schrapps and am a SLOW loser no to mention I have had many personal, emotional setbacks so I am far from goal but I did have a lot to lose. -
When I was brave enough to try popcorn I tried a small amount at the theater and had no problems probably around six months out. With that being said I wish I had not tried it because it is a slider for me also and one of the foods I could eat a whole bag of before surgery and I found that I was then buying microwave pour over butter at home. Something to be very conscious of is mastication and also the mental stipulations you put on when and how much you can have it. Good luck to you.

❤️Yes I absolutely love spending time with her but it seems much more tiring than when my own kids were small. I feel I have more patience with her but at the same time I feel like she requires so much entertaining. I had three boys and I have decided that boys and girls are ao different at this age. She loves to go on walks but here in Texas we have been having extremely cold weather with lots of wind so outside walks will have to wait
