Well I think its different for everyone but for me personally it was around day 8 that I had that.epiphany lol. My surgeon leaves a drain in till day 8 and when I went in to the office to have it removed I felt really good. Just follow all the instructions and it will all fall into place. Best wishes!!

I was sleeved on march 26th and have been battling with my multivitamin. Hopefully some of you veterans can give me a little advice. I have went through a bottle of celebrate vitamins and now am on a bottle of bariatric advantage vitamins. It seems like no matter which one, they both make me extremely nauseous to the point of even throwing up today within 10 minutes of taking it. Now I have been extremely fortunate and to this day have not thrown up at all but this vitamin made me throw up for the first time and I don't want it to happen again. After calling my surgeon he said to find an over the counter multi chewable I could tolerate and just to make sure I mix it with a b complex. I am looking for some suggestions of what to buy over the counter and where to buy them. And also about how much are they going to cost compared to the bariatric specialty vitamins, and is it going to cause me to be deficient in any other vitamins by doing this switch? My DH was just laid off so anywhere we can save money is a bonus.

Agreed! Trial and error for these are just miserable!!

By the way I forgot to add that I take calcium citrate chewable , and iron plus c chewable and I tolerate those just fine.

Don't freak out, its common. If you search stall on here you will get so many threads between week these and five. It happens to us all. 21 pounds since surgery is great. Just remember that this will pass.

I am a mom of there boys aged 14,18 and 21. The middle one is about 5'9" and built stocky but has changed his stature into muscle because he is a body builder. Yesterday when he came home from the gym he came up to hug me, let go real quick and said "woah let me try that again." So he hugged me again and said "mom, I can get my arms around you soo much better now, I bet I could throw you over my shoulder " needless to say I didn't let him do that but he made me feel so good!!! When you see yourself everyday in the mirror you don't notice the changes. Its so nice for others to notice and tell you.

I agree, it brought tears to my eyes. Sometimes it seems like they are not paying attention to anything and then they shock you with something so unexpected. It really is amazing what all this journey has opened my eyes to.

Ok I was sleeved on 3/26/12 and immediately my surgeon started me on nexium daily. They are great, I have had no problems. 2 weeks ago my DH lost his insurance so now we are self pay for office visits and meds. I took my last nexium yesterday and called in the refill. I was shocked when I went to pick it up. Even with the coupon from the manufacturer I printed online at purplepill.Com that took off $50.00 my cost was $150.53. I simply can't afford this every month. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Yea this is true. You can also use b-12 sublingual pills instead of the shot . My surgeon told me it was my choice which one. I was sleeved 3/26/12 and when I went for my last check up 3/24/12 he gave me my first shot. I just thought it was easier than adding another vitamin to take this time.

Thanks so much everyone. I am going to try all of the suggestions you all sent and maybe i can get something worked out within the next month when i run out. The cost of some medicine is so ridiculous its depressing! I could not imagine if I had a multitude to fill each month at these prices!!

To crave things you were never interested in before? I have never been interested in sushi before but have found myself wanting it so bad for 2days that I drove 35 minutes to pick some up last night for dinner for my whole.family (I could only eat 1 piece because I ate my protein first like a good girl). whats going on and can I expect this kind of behavior more often lol?

I never thought of it as a healthy craving but I guess you are right. I had favorite foods before surgery that just don't even sound good at all anymore. I am glad because they were not foods I should be eating in the first place!

I am on 2 celebrate multi pineapple chewable, 1 iron plus c grape chewable, 2 bariatric advantage calcium citrate lemon chews and 1nexium daily. It seems like no matter when I take them they make me nauseous. I have split them up throughout the day, taken a couple at a time, taken them with water, and with full liquids. Any suggestions??
