Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?
atkinsoncl replied to JimmyGotSLEEVED's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Everyone is doing fantastic! It's been a little while since I checked it, but have been periodically checking posts. Things are going great! Starting weight 279, today I weight 219. I'm down an even 60lbs. Couldn't be happier and feel great! Hairloss is happening, but I'm not losing much. Way to go April sleevers!! I love reading everyone's progress. -

7 Weeks And Bleeding
atkinsoncl replied to mwilson4040's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Keep an eye on it! If you don't see an improvement, I would call in a couple days. It sounds like it is getting better since it no longer hurts. You may just be seeing some residue left. Good luck! -
Yes, definately need to call! Good luck and keep us posted!

I agree, probably gas pains. Call your doctor to double check just to be on the safe side. -
Stomach Cramps! Help!

That's great!! So happy for you!! -
Yes, my insurance does not consider high cholesterol a qualifying diagnosis.

When did you have your surgery? Your sleeve may not be ready for the soft/mushy food yet.

14Weeks Post Op Update Pics
atkinsoncl replied to Tracey37's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
You look stunning! -
That's great!! Congratulations!! I, too, was so exstatic when I was told that the sleeve was now covered. Woohoo for you!
-
I have only told a select few that I was going to have the sleeve, family, hairdresser, and two close friends. I have not told anybody new post op. Maybe if they ask how I have lost the weight, I might tell them. I'm not sure how I feel with this yet and it definately depends on the person that asks. Who knows, maybe in a few months I will want to shout it from the rooftop too.

Exactly one month ago, I got my sleeve. So far, my sleeve has been a major blessing. I have lost a total of of 31.2 lbs from the beginning of my preop diet. I lost 8 lbs on preop and 23.2 lbs since my sleeve. Horray!!

Calories 4 Weeks Post Op?
atkinsoncl replied to HadToDoIt40's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will be 4 weeks postop on Thursday and I can't get more than 600 calories a day and 60-70 grams of protein right now. But, I need to be working up to 1000-1200 calories that's what they want me to eat when I go on my regular diet. Not sure how I'm going to do it. -
Trying To Get Approved With Bcbs Nj
atkinsoncl replied to polandspring's topic in Insurance & Financing
Have you called your insurance company to see what their requirements are for surgery? Every insurance is different. If you haven't called, you may want to check with them tomorrow. -
I am also on the soft food stage. I can eat basically any soft food without problem, except for a scrambled egg. I don't know what it is, but I had horrible pain after I ate the egg. I wasn't able to eat the whole egg. It started after about 1/2 of it. I haven't tried it since, but I probably will attempt in another 2 weeks or some.
-
I am almost 4 weeks postop and am on soft foods. When I went for my 2 week postop appt, they told me that I should be on a regular diet by the time I come in for my 6 week appt. Good luck! I hope you find the answers you need.
-
I don't know if that is normal! 12 days post op, I felt great!! If you don't get better in a few days, I would contact your doctor or surgeon.
-
Sounds good to me! Thanks for the idea.

I bought my Ninja Pulse on QVC . . . $65.00. Check it out on their website and read all the great reviews. Plus, it comes with a cookbook which is an added bonus.
-
I love my ninja too!! I am going to buy the ingrediants today and making myself some ice cream!! Yummy!!

Hi! Was wondering if anybody has a recommendation on a good cookbook for "after" weight loss surgery that has easy recipes? I found a few cookbooks searching on-line, but one recipe call for a bazillion ingredients. Thanks, Courtney
