When Can You Drive Again?
atkinsoncl replied to NJsharon's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just talked to my surgeon's office yesterday about the same thing. I am getting sleeved on April 4. I am not allowed to drive for 7 days after my surgery and have to completely be off all pain meds. -

Just To Introduce Myself

Hi! Welcome to the group! Yes, the ninja is fantastic and it is not an expensive unit. I got mine on QVC and it comes with lots of extras which I love and will come in handy postop. I just made my first Protein Shake in it and it came out very smooth. Good luck on your preop appt. . .are you excited?? It is hard believe that April is on Sunday already! -

Nerves Are Starting To Kick In
atkinsoncl replied to atkinsoncl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You're funny!! Have a great holiday and enjoy yourself. I have once worn a bikini in my life, that's when I was 14 and I didn't eat . . . and by that I mean, the only thing I ate in a day was one snack, that's it. That was the only time I was ever thin. Even now if or I should say when, I get to goal, my body won't look good in a bikini after having 2 kids. I will probably still want to wear the skirtini. My husband said something funny to me, he said, "when you loose your weight can you please wear skinny jeans?" I just laughed because I cannot imagine myself wearing skinny jeans -
Nerves Are Starting To Kick In
atkinsoncl replied to atkinsoncl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So true!! Yes, the benefits definately outweigh the risks. I am excited!! I'm excited to start fitting into my clothes that are stored in my closet that range in all different sizes. The lowest I have is size 12, so I will be shoppping when I need a smaller size . Nothing from last spring fits me since it's all too tight, so now is a perfect time to get it done. At least I won't have to start shopping for one size bigger, like I would have to do if I wasn't going to do this surgery. So excited!! Thanks for all your support!! -

Hi! There was just a post regarding the same question. All have said, you do not wear underwear in surgery. I think it would just get in the way. Plus, some surgeons use a cathetor also. -
Frequently Asked Questions
atkinsoncl replied to Lilee84's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you so much for posting all of this information. My surgery is next Wednesday and this will be a great tool for me. It's pretty much right on target with my surgeon's advice. -
Writing A Report For School ... Opinions Please
atkinsoncl replied to Lauranbob Mc's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They both sound good. You can also write about weight loss surgery versus weight loss/ diet programs. Since weight loss surgery is being judged as being the easy way out (we all know the real truth in that one), and that we should just be able to lose it on our own with diet. -

Good luck tomorrow on your preop admission. It will really hit you tomorrow that you are doing this. It didn't really hit me until I had my admissions testing. April 10 is only 2 weeks away. That's going to go so fast!! I also have the same mental things going on in my head right now . . . my main one is, what if I fail or what if I lose and put all the weight back on again like all of my other weight loss attempts. Hang in there!! We are going to do great, be thin, and feel fantastic!!! -
Congratulations!!

Nerves Are Starting To Kick In
atkinsoncl replied to atkinsoncl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Snoho1, Congrats on your surgery date!! I went through the same thing last night with my husband. He just showed his true emotions to me last night . . . nothing like waiting to the last week . So now I am more nervous than I was before. However, I'm still 100% certain I'm doing the right thing, but all kinds of different emotions are coming out. -
Oh wow, that's fantastic!! Yes, I got the headache (it felt like a bad hangover) on the 3rd day. That was the only day that I felt like that. Fingers crossed that you will feel better tomorrow. Good luck!!

Thanks for the update on your friend!! Yes, next week is the big day!! Just can't believe it. Met with my doctor today and everything looks great (bloodwork, kidneys, liver, chest, etc), so I got cleared for my surgery. Woohoo!! -
Congratulations and best of luck to you!! My surgery is scheduled for April 4. I'm so excited, scared, nervous . . . all the emotions are coming out.

Good News & Many Questions
atkinsoncl replied to D1NOnlySexyLady's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do you have anyone you can contact at your surgeon's office to ask the questions to? All surgeons are different and require different preop diets. The vitamins that I will be taking are all chewable. You will need to check with him about continuing your other medication. If you can't check with your surgeon's office, then I suggest contact your primary doctor. Sorry I couldn't help more, but these are definately questions to check with a doctor. Good luck!! Keep us posted. -
Hi! I'm just checking in to see how all are doing? I'm doing well. Day 6 of preop diet is done. I think I'm addicted to greek yogurt, YUM!! Also, I think my husband had a slight breakdown today with my surgery. I don't think her realized that it's next week already. He was trying to talk me out of it, but not in a bad way (if that makes sense). He told me he would support me if this is my decision. I just assured him that I know what is involved. It's really hard for him!! I'm not sure if it's the surgery or if he's afraid I'm going to change. One this is for sure, I am planning on changing but in a fantastic way . But anyway, April 1 is Sunday!! We will all be sleeved in this month!! Awesome!! Good luck on preop diets .

Wow, so many surgery dates right around the corner . Hard to believe that some of us will be sleeved next week and the other's will be sleeved shortly in the few weeks to follow. -
Good luck!! I'm on my 6th day. The roughest day for me was the 3rd day. I had that hangover feeling all day, but it was that day and that day only.

At first, I was a little scared to look at the pictures, since I'm getting sleeved April 4. But when I looked at them, it was a sigh of relief. You look amazing!! Congrats!! -
