    What Should I Pack?

I know!! I would love to bring my Ipad, just to play. But the good news is if all goes well, I will be out of the hospital the next day. I did buy a book and am saving it for Wednesday. I will be in Lehigh Valley Hospital.

    Excited And Scared

Okay, good! Your body will be adjusted to the liquid within the first few days of preop. You should be fine. Good luck!!

    Excited And Scared

Every person is different with the preop diet. Some get the headache the first couple days. I, however, got it on the 3rd day and it only lasted one day. How many days will you be on the diet before your husband's party?

    What Should I Pack?

Good luck to you! Yes, I believe bringing less is good. I go in on Wednesday (locally) and I'm taking lip balm, a book, slippers, toothbrush, and change of clothes to come home in. Just packing a small bag. My hospital specifically stated that I cannot bring any electrical equipment - cell phone, lpad, etc.

    Hello

Best of luck on your journey! I know the insurance can be worrisome. That was my worst fear, being denied. The surgeon's office took care of everything and I was approved the first time. My insurance believes in WLS. As long as your a candidate and your insurance covers it, you should not have a problem. Good luck!! This is a great site for information and for support.

    Nervous

I'll be right there with you through your journey!! I'm also April 4. I'm getting so nervous. I'm so tired during the day because I haven't been sleeping well at night. However, this is not the time I should be resting. I want to get a lot done before Wed. laundry, cleaning, grocery shopping, etc. I just feel like I have no energy to do anything. I, like you, have told very few people. I don't want to deal with negative reactions. Ultimately, this is my decision and I'm sticking to it This is just the beginning!! We have an exciting journey ahead. Good luck to you!! Can't wait to hear how you are doing postop!

Nerves Are Starting To Kick In

I know!! I'm spending all this money on new clothes that I need bigger. Something is not right with that picture! I started going through my clothes today and found so many smaller sizes with tags on. So I think I'm set for a while. We can do it!!

    I'm Sleeved!

Hi Daniellec, Here is what my nut told me. If you drink Protein drinks, make sure they need to be clear for the first week. I just ordered the Syntrax Nectar that you mix with Water. She told me to try to get some protein in the first week, however, if you can't do it, then don't. It would be good to get some protein the first week, but not necessary. When you get to the full liquid stage, then you need to worry about your protein drinks. Hope this helps!

    I'm Sleeved!

Thanks so much for keeping us posted!! I'm glad you let us know what it was like for you after surgery and glad it all went well. I've heard so much about the gas pains and that they hurt worse than the surgery itself. Hang in there! I've heard the first few weeks are a battle, but after that everything gets a lot easier. Can't wait to hear more from you. Congratulations!!

    Just To Introduce Myself

Well thank you very much!! It's the preop diet and making sure I get all my Water in. It makes such a difference eating healthy. I always feel so good when I eat the right way. I have more energy, my knees don't hurt, and I just feel good. That's why I don't understand why I just couldn't stick to it in the past. I know how great I feel, but I guess food is more like an addiction. Not anymore, taking control now .

Nerves Are Starting To Kick In

A hoho is a small chocolate cake with cream in the middle. Wow, it must be a pattern for 14 years old. I remember going into high school and I felt like I transformed from middle school. Then, since I basically starved myself, I started eating again and the weight just started to pack on. I really think that was the only time I was at a good weight. Well, we certainly knew what happened to me after that . One of the reasons that helped making my decision with the surgery, was my daughter, she's 8. My yoyo dieting has effected her, so I need to take control of my weight issues.
