Thank you everyone :') you know what? It does get easier after the first few days. I found that hard to believe in the beginning but I'm noticing it now for myself. Day by day is what I'll do. I knew I would find good advice from everyone here. Thank you for being supportive. Hugs to everyone....

Thank you for your support and advice. The surgeons office didn't mention broth but they did say I could have sugar free drinks and Popsicles. I hate this, everything looks so yummy. I never realized how little will power I had. I didn't think it would be this hard. -Kelly

Oh, Ha Ha, my surgery was rescheduled to the 23rd. I am on 3 to 5 protein shakes a day for 2 weeks. Sorry I haven't updated my profile . -Kelly

My surgery is scheduled for the 22nd as well I'm glad you posted this question because I'm feeling the same way you are. I'm nervous. Reading these responses has helped.

I am scheduled to be banded on Feb. 22nd and I am getting extremely nervous. I needed to read something like this to get me motivated. I'm happy for you and your success. Hope I will be as successful. -Kelly

I still have 3 and a half weeks to go but I'm getting really nervous. I keep having dreams. I just cannot see me as a thinner person and I worry that I will be the one person to fail at this. I guess I just need some support.

My date was set for the 7th but I had to change it because of work.. I'm still excited it is now Feb 22nd

I'm having trouble joining

Hi everyone!! I was originally a may 2012 hopeful, then got denied, then was an October hopeful then got denied again . I was approved after 2 appeals and went thru 3 of the 4-month nutrition classes. I did it!!! I'm so happy and I am officially scheduled for Feb 21st after 12 months of nutrition visits and doc appts. I wanted to give up several times but pushed thru and didn't give Aetna the satisfaction of winning. So that's my story and I'm happy to have a home in this feb bandsters group. Lets shed those pounds!!!!!

APPROVED!!!! 12 months of dieting and 2 denials! I'm so happy

I've been denied twice by Aetna. I did the supervised diet 3 times already! Almost a year trying to get approved. They just do not want to pay even though I meet all the requirements. I've tried so hard to do everything right and they denied me because I did not lose weight. I've tried not to give up hope but I think I am about ready to throw in the towel. Tired of fighting

I have Aetna, I gained 5 pounds during the 4 months and they denied me because of that. I've heard from another lady who gained like 13 pounds and was approved. I honestly think it depends on your plan and the person who receives your paperwork. Some insurances are picky and will find any little loop hole to not pay for it and others are great. I don't have the same insurance you do, but just thought I would share what happened to me. Take care -Kelly

Hi, I have Aetna too. They required the 2 years history for me also. I had documentation from my pcp and that was sufficient. What you provided them is probably even better since it shows you were making an attempt to lose weight. I think as long as its documented somewhere. I got denied because I gained a few pounds during my 4 month nutrition visits. I gained 5 pounds in 4 months. So I started the process over again. Hopefully this time will be better. I was supposed to be banded at the end of July but got denied by insurance, so started the whole process over again. I have my final appt on Oct. 10th I'm hoping to be a November bandster! Fingers crossed!!!
