I'm 7.5 weeks post-op & still very hungry!! I've been eating 800+ calories a day for the last week or so. The good news is it broke my stall, but I'm concerned about feeling so hungry. Wasn't that hunger switch removed?? I am drinking lots of water & taking 2 prilosecs a day. I see people on here further out than me eating way less. Also, I'm eating healthy, high protein, low(ish) carb (less than 40 a day) & low sugar. So, what is going on? Is anyone else still getting hungry or am I the odd man out? Fyi I'm also not exercising very much so that is not a contributing factor.

I Want To Loose Fat Of My Thighs Not My Breast
kayte819 replied to sallynew's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm with you sister! I have always been very evenly proportioned, very.curvy everywhere....huge boobs, smaller waist, huge booty, hips, etc but since having 3 babies in 2 years what was once a pooch is now a gut. I hate it! The sad news is at 7 wks post-op I've lost 43# but have not gone down a single size....my jeans aren't even any looser!!! I'm not sure where I'm losing. My face is thinner, but told my sister today I must have lost 40# from my ankles & toes cuz I'm just not seeing it! It's frustrating! -
Extra Oily Skin Post-Op
kayte819 replied to favoredone's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Btw everyone, I used to have suuuuper oily skin which would result in that painful underground acne sometimes. I bought Proactive & my skin got completely normal with no more acne. I've just started using it again since the moisturizers I've tried have made my skin go nuts. It really has been a life changer for me!! -

What May Seem Like Dumb Questions Feel Free To Add On......
kayte819 replied to andi0120's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been using a straw since about 5 weeks. I do have to be careful not to chug absent mindedly or the gas is a killer, but I drink my daily sf vanilla latte with a straw with no problems. Drinking with food makes me throw up. Not a tiny, tiny sip but a normal size.swallow & I puke. It is challenging!! I hate having to choose.....do I want to eat.or drink more?? Oh well....small price to pay! -
Extra Oily Skin Post-Op
kayte819 replied to favoredone's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm having the opposite issue. My skin is so dry it's literally flaking off in some areas! I'm getting in all my fluids, so I don't get it! I've never had dry skin in my life & its super sensitive so every moisturizer I've tried has given me acne. I'm 36, acne....really?!?? -
I'm curious for the different ages on here
kayte819 replied to jamie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 36 & just got sleeved 7.5 weeks ago. It would have been nice to do it sooner, but that may have changed the course of my life & I might have missed the happiness I found through the path I took. Plus I've had 4 kids & they might have ruined a perfect body. They're like that....suck the pretty right out of you....haha!! -
I have the sleeve & it's working the only reason I am vaguely interested on hgc is not because I'm in a hurry, but because I'm 43# down post op & my pants are not even the tiniest bit looser!!! I really hang on to weight in my midsection & since good hcg is said to target your largest fat stores I thought maybe it could attack that area but Idk....it's just a thought! I do have friends who've had great results in their problem areas!!

I hate protein shakes. I haven't tried a single one that didn't make me gag. UNTIL tonight!! Stopped at 7-11 to grab water & noticed they had muscle milk. I was starving because I'd been out for a long time unexpectedly so I was happy to see it, but they only had light in one flavor - Vanilla Latte. Omg. So delish! Tastes like a Starbucks Chai Latte. It was realllly good! Only possible drawback for some is it is caffeinated. I'm thrilled about it personally, but I know a lot of sleevers avoid caffeine. If you don't mind that, TRY IT!! Yum!

I love egg salad, but I still can't tolerate eggs (7 wks). Take small bites & eat slowly until you know it's going down smoothly!! Ps. My NUT had mayo on the approved food list, but I like the light version cuz it tastes the same!! Oh, to make it I use a fork to mash up the whole egg, add mayo, mustard, salt, pepper & a dash of paprika

I know it seems crazy to take that stuff post op but I'm interested in HCG injections even though I'm losing quickly (10 lbs this week!!) but its not for weight loss....I've heard that it targets your fat in certain areas where the majority of your weight is & you will lose from that area specifically....I've seen this with my own eyes on a couple friends & I would love to see my stomach go asap!! I'd ask your Dr but beware - that green tea stuff killed my stomach during my diet days....like the sweats, keel over, run to the bathroom kill....yikes!!
-
I swear I have HATED all protein drinks but I got this again today to see if it was just a fluke & nope! Still delish! If you like a chai latte you'll like it! It's not thick it's kind of the consistency of water. Try it!! Also, it's a ready-to-drink, not a powder.

Day 13, First Meal, Not A Good Day
kayte819 replied to VACookey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
((Hugs)) I was just like you. I couldn't eat anything really until about 5 weeks, I cried & thought I'd made a huge mistake. I threw up everything because it got stuck no matter how slow I ate or how long I chewed. I'm 7.5 weeks now & it is soooo much better!! I don't know if you're a fish eater, but I eat a lot of fish. The easiest for me is ahi tuna. I go to costco & but the reddest, freshest they have then I season it & sear it on all sides so its very rare in the middle. It's so soft you hardly even have.to chew it & it has tons of Protein & if you like sushi it will def be something you'd like. I practically drown it in a low cal seseme ginger dressing & it's delish! I also.eat moist white.fish that you can bake or pan sear....it cooks really fast. I've tried steak but it has to be really tender - like tenderloin & it cannot be anything over medium rare. eggs, ground beef & chicken are not my friends!! Refried Beans go down easy too. Give yourself time! 13 days was waaaay to early for me! I swear it will get better!!!!! -
Before surgery I was a candy JUNKIE. I would frequently not eat all day then eat an ENTIRE bag (like most by for Halloween) in one sitting. Gross, right?! So I saw a post on here from someone who said they ate one lindt truffle every night & I thought to myself "what a great idea!" So my husband bought some & I couldn't wait to have one. My plan was to have one a couple hours after my dinner. So, I ate a pretty standard snack of strawberries & when we were getting in bed my husband asked if I'd enjoyed my treat. And HOLY S@*#BALLS!! I'd FORGOTTEN to eat it!!! Jazz shocked! So I decided to enjoy it the next night & I FORGOT AGAIN!!!!! This would have been unheard of 6 weeks ago...I would have looked forward to eating the whole bag all day. Unbelievable! Yaaaaaay!!

Tmi Question Regarding Nipples
kayte819 replied to lilymorg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I'm pregnant my nipples hurt soooo bad it's unbearable. I cannot even chance getting cold - it feels like someone's cutting them off with a dull razor. It has lasted the entire duration of my last 2 pregnancies & still is uncomfortable when its cold. I think its hormones but my gyno said use a heating pad or try nipple creams used during breastfeeding, but the cream didn't help me. Good luck....I know it sucks!! On another not.....whooohoooo on your weight loss!!!!! -

Catracks lol @ "tube socks"!! I've had really big boobs my whole life...I wore a c cup when I was 11 & a DDD in high school when I weighed about 140. Now they're crazy huge....a K & unlike most here I totally don't want to lose much of them...my husband would cry! That said I'm down about 40 lbs & while they don't look different, they feel different. Kind of mushy They are already pointed south from breastfeeding 4 kids so I am totally planning on a lift. I want a whole body tuck when its all said & done!! Catracks lol @ "tube socks"!! Are We Allowed To Use Spices?
kayte819 replied to cab0ad's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 7 weeks out & I've been using spices for a while now. I use cayenne pepper, curry powder, tapatio, red pepper flakes, etc. I love spicy food so I still eat them & haven't had any issues. Def don't think salt & pepper would be a problem but everyone is different. Maybe go easy on the pepper initially & see how it goes. Good luck!! -
I have a serious sweet tooth & I'm 7 weeks out now & it's rearing its ugly little head Anyone have any healthy or at least not completely unhealthy suggestions?? SF popcicles aren't gonna cut it...everything's too artificial tasting!! Thanks (from my scale) That was supposed to be a SAD face!

Sleeve Vets Do You Count Calories? How Many Calories Per Day?
kayte819 replied to andi0120's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ditto!! (Except the book ) -
Pre-sleeve I was a diet coke JUNKIE. I'd go all day on nothing but that. I know there are many opinions on the topic of drinking soda post-op..........so, what's yours? I'm dying to start nursing a kids cup's size of one!
