I have to drink my coffee or I will kill my 4 wild children who begin every morning arguing & spazzing out!! I drink a large iced coffee from dunkin donuts every single morning...with cream, sweet & low & sf hazelnut. It is hands down my favorite thing I put in my mouth all day! My Dr is ok w/ it & so is my sleeve. Maybe it will never agree w/ you or maybe you just need a wee bit more time. Tmi alert - best side effect- keeps me totally regular

I think all the weird/strong body odors are just to keep the boys at bay........we don't want them going crazy over our new sexier bods! -
Hope For Second Year Sleevers
kayte819 replied to crosswind's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Love it! I'm 3 mos out & sometimes during a stall I get discouraged, but you're so right.....patience. I also agree about the obsessing. It's so drilled into my mind to not eat carbs that if I eat a few I feel immense guilt...which I hate. My sleeve doesn't tolerate much variety, so for the most part I stick to the plan, but after years & years of being ashamed of what I'm eating I would like to put an end to the guilt. That is the hardest part for me...feeling like a failure or that I should suffer for what.I've eaten. Your post gives me hope that even if I'm not perfect, I can still succeed! Thank you! -

Lol!! That whole productivity thing ruins all the good stuff -
Me too!! It's not oily but the breakouts are ridiculous! I am getting those big, painful zits that are under the skin all along my jaw line Totally sucks.

I actually was told during my 6 mos of supervised "weight loss" NOT too lose much for this very reason. My surgeons office said they have.seen cases where the ins co say that the patient seems capable of losing w/o surgery. I decided to heed the advice & didn't diet at all. I ate like usual until the pre-op diet.

I'm a little over 3 mos out & for me personally I would skip the chips, sandwich & would try to up the protein....BUT.....everyone should do what works for them. Chips are carbs I could skip in soup & there's no way I could eat a sandwich because the bread would kill me & I'd throw it up. Maybe add pb to your apple for protein?? Are you tracking your food? You should try myfitnesspal.com It has helped me soooo much in making sure that my choices are as good as I *think* they are. But again, some people are nazi's about carbs, some eat whatever they want & some try to manage their carb/protein intake w/o totally denying themselves. It's a totally individual choice, imho

I always order a salad w/ the dressing on the side. I eat some protein dipped in the.dressing, box the.rest up to go & ask for dressing to go on the side & then I've eaten & have another meal
-
Oh yeah, forgot to add.....I also drink a muscle milk light rtd in vanilla latte. It's really, really good! I hate protein drinks but this one doesn't smell or taste like one. Try it!! So good! Side note: it does have caffeine.

I drink coffee with cream -gasp!- every single day. A big one! I use sf hazelnut & a sweet n low & look forward to it more than anything else I have all day! It hasn't slowed my losing at all & like the PP said, it works as a laxative for me. I always add it into myfitpal everyday to make sure I'm on track w/ everything else.

Have Any Of You Eaten Solid Food Before You Were Supposed To?
kayte819 replied to ginajet77's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Every surgeon is so different that it can be hard to determine what is ok to eat if it is outside of your Dr.'s direct perimeters. Example, some are on clear liquida for weeks. I was on full liquids in the hospital. Sf pudding, cottage cheese & yogurt. My nut wanted me eating solids @3 weeks, but I didn't because I couldn't eat them w/o it getting stuck. So, everyone gets different guidelines........confusing!! -
Egg Drop Soup? Does This Qualify
kayte819 replied to want2look&feelbetter's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Strain it & enjoy! Something different! Also good....chicken broth w/ a little bit of chicken bouillon granules to strengthen the flavor w/ soy sauce & a little bit of white miso paste (usually can be found in the international food aisle at a large grocery store). Yum! Also great for pureed stage or strained now is hot & sour soup w/o meat. It will taste so good if you want some serious flavor!! -
