Down 1# back to where I was about 10 days ago I'm only 6 weeks out & starting to worry that the sleeve wont work on me!!!! Arghhh!! How can I eat 600-700 cals a day & not lose ??!?

I bought some pancake mix @ costco. It's Coach's Oats multi-grain pancake mix. It says one serving yields 10-12 pancakes & here are the stats. Thoughts & impute greatly appreciated Cals: 210 Fat: 3.5g Carbs: 42g Sugar: 13g Protein: 7g Divide by 10 & even the carbs are quite low. I like to add Protein by mixing in a banana & Peanut Butter. It really ups the protein & makes it so I never miss syrup. My question is what do you experts think?? I love getting everyones thoughts & find everyones impute invaluable so THANK YOU!!!!

My surgeon recommend miralax. Good luck!!

Protein Shakes What Do U Like
kayte819 replied to Tamig078's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use pure Protein too. I have a really hard time getting a whole one down, but over the course of a day it can be done since its only 11oz. Skip costco tho in the beginning wife you won't know if you like it & go to fresh & easy if you have one & buy it in smaller amounts. I prefer chocolate, but use vanilla in coffee sometimes, or add frozen berries & sf banana pudding to make a smoothie. If you use frozen berries you don't need ice watering it down & adding to the amt you have to drink. Best wishes!! It was super hard for me but for some its better. Regardless, it gets better!! -
I know, I know...dont get hung up on the scale....BUT I'm about 6 weeks out & last Saturday I weighed 283 & today I weigh 285. I am averaging 5-600 cals a day. And I don't have a TOM. What the.... Maybe it's what I'm eating? Here's an average day. I'm not big on variety yet cuz my sleeve is picky....realllly picky! Also not a big eater...just can't do 6 meals a day. Am. SF vanilla latte w/ 2% milk. Takes all morning to drink lunch. 1/6 of a flat out whole wheat wrap w/ 2 tblspn of cram cheese & 2 oz of smoked salmon Snack. Protein shake w/ 30 g protein...can only stomach a little over 2/3 of it dinner is the same as lunch. Well, thoughts??

What Am I Throwing Up?
kayte819 replied to brandymarie81's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You should def call your Dr but if you took anything like leprosy bismol or something it can make your mouth, stools & vomit blackish. I once was scared to death by such an occurrence. I was convinced I was dying of lung cancer....alas that was not the case! -
Sorry for weird spelling errors. Damn you, auto correct!!

Don't despair! The 1st four weeks were absolutely hellacious for me. I threw up daily everything made me sick. I thought I'd made a huge irreversible mistake! BUT I'm almost 6 weeks out now & it is soooo much better! Eating real food is helping me get in more protein. I eat a lot of moist fish which is super high in protein, I hate milk but have an iced coffee everyday that's half coffee half milk. Just find anything you can stand & go with that! I didn't lose any hair Give yourself time. It does get better! Ps. Try hot & sour soup (I get it vegetarian w/ extra egg) from a Chinese restaurant. It's easy going down & the egg is a good source of protein, but is in such small bits it is not even a mushie. Or egg drop soup if you don't do spicy! GOOD LUCK!!

Question Of The Day Tuesday
kayte819 replied to Lilee84's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm just almost 6 weeks out so I have a way to go, but I'm most looking forward to not being self concious all the time. I've always been confident even at 265 I was ok with myself but after having my twins 3 yrs ago & getting stuck at 316 I felt terrible. I hate meeting new people, hate going to my son's soccer practices, going to school events...I won't go to any of my friends social events for fear of being judged by their other friends, etc. I can't wait to feel better about myself!!! Having 3 kids in less than 2 yrs has also destroyed my abs so hoping I can back into working out too. And losing the back ache!!! -
My start weight was 316. I'm down to 282 & wondering what type of working out for cardio others this size do. I have a bad back & knee problems, likely all weight related. Hopefully as I lose these issues will get better, but in the meantime I'm not sure what I should be doing for cardio. Even brisk walks really hurt my back Any suggestions? I want to do something until I get down to a more comfortable weight. Thank you all for your insight & inspiration...this site & the wonderful people on it have been my lifeline throughout this process!!!

Just ate some from my local Chinese place. I ordered it vegetarian w/ a little extra egg for Protein. Seemed I could eat quite a bit (maybe 3/4 cup) & I don't feel like I'm going to throw up, which is RARE for me!! So, experts chime in here.......CONS??? If there aren't any than I highly recommend it

From Feeling Great To Feeling Blah!
kayte819 replied to koriswlj's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't have much advice but wanted you to know you are not alone!! I could have written it myself. Nothing has helped me much with this really, but I just have faith that it will get better.....it just HAS TOOOO!!! Keep the faith! -
I'm 5 weeks out & my Dr wanted solids at 4 weeks so I've been working on it, but I'm struggling with what to eat. I've done tuna & other moist fish....sometimes successfully, sometimes not. Ground beef was a nightmare, my first attempt at chicken was last night & went ok. Sort of. Yesterday running around with my kids out of desperation I grabbed q tiny package of hummus with pita chips. I only ate a few of the chips but piled on the hummus for some protein. It went down soooo easily. It has been the easiest thing I've eaten since broth & yogurt. So I ate it again for dinner & snack. I ended up eating a ton of carbs! Yikes! So now I'm stumped. I have no clue where to go from here. I want to maximize my sleeve, but I don't know what to eat!!! I've thrown up multiple times daily since surgery other than a handful of days, so feeling full & not sick felt so good! Any suggestions on where to go from here?? I know the mushies stage was kind of carb heavy, but I don't want to get into any bad habits ..... Help!

I had a cathater for about 24 hrs that was put in during surgery. It ended up being no big deal. Good luck!

Officially 1Month Out Today & .....
kayte819 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have lost 32 lbs post op & 43 lbs total. Unfortunately I am still worried that I made a mistake. I throw up nearly every day! It's such a downer. I have started eating really moist/wet fish daily & that's going well so I'm hopeful, but this has definitely been harder than I thought it would be. I HATE Protein shakes, milk & sf pudding. I wanna chug Water by the gallon but struggle to get 64 oz in. I know it will get better eventually........right? That said, I'm totally stoked about the loss & this was even with a one week stall !!!! Off topic: what's a nsv? I see it on here all the time but have no clue! -
Ok its time for me to give up my scale obsession & join in......284 today. Up 1# since Thursday. 5 weeks out, down 43# total, 32# post-op. Now no more weighing until next saturday!! Gonna have hubby hide the scale!!
