I feel your pain. I had to use one for the last couple of years, so embarrassing. I had a great NSV when we recently flew to Florida and the belt latched without an extender. It's was a wonderful feeling! Hopefully you'll have the same feeling soon. I do think it depends on the airline how long the belts are.

My friend went to Dr. Rafael Villalobos. His office is on Bethel Rd. She had a lower body lift and breast implants last year, and just went back to him for lipo a couple of weeks ago. She loves him.

Just Banded & Now Recuperating
colleenjoy replied to JewelsMommy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i second the heating pad, it was my best friend during the days after post op. also walk, walk, walk. if you have a rocking chair, rock on that for awhile (as long as it's not too painful). my nurse suggested it to me and it really helped with the gas pains. Congrats on your surgery and I hope you feel better soon. -
my friend had bypass and had her plastic surgery in columbus, I know she loves her PS I'll check with her and get his name for you.
-
Glad you are doing well. Take care of yourself.
-
I believe it's only with bypass, and maybe the sleeve, but not the band.

New Balance sneakers are great. On the expensive side (for me any way) but totally worth it.

checking in at 288.6. Only a small loss this week, but any loss is better than a gain

Anxiety After Surgery?
colleenjoy replied to Carpe Diem's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded about 2 months ago, and I felt the same way. The first couple of weeks I thought I had made a HUGE mistake. I was worried that I would never be able to eat "normal" again. We went through a big operation, even though its done laproscopic it still takes a while to physically recover. At a week out you are still in the recovery period, please take it easy. we have also made a huge lifestyle change, it will take a while to adjust to that. it takes a lot out of your body to heal and you probably still aren't getting a lot of calories in so it's not surprising that you are tired. I wasn't able to get in the required fluids and Protein until the second week. it took my almost three weeks before I felt like I was getting back to normal energy levels. So yes, you are normal, everything you are feeling has been felt by thousands before you. You will get through it and after a while you will realize this was the best decision you've ever made. Feel free to ask questions, vent whatever you need to do. -
Sometimes I Just Want To Cry......
colleenjoy replied to BamaGirl36303's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
sorry to hear your going through this. I agree your dr should be doing more to help you, clood test, wound cultures... Do you live in an area that has a wound clinic? Some hospitals have them. The are specifically to help people who have issues with wound healing. I would also suggest you might try and find an infectious disease dr. they would be able to help determine what is causing the infections and what the best treatment would be. -
Great NSV!

First Fill Monday, What Should I Expect?
colleenjoy replied to NettaRue's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Glad to hear it went well. I got 2.5 and I don't feel restriction, unless I try and eat too fast. -
I tried just about every Protein powder/shake out there. My favorite is Pure Protein, you can buy at costo and sam's club and maybe online as well. I also like EAS carbadvantage, and Oh Yeah. Those you can find at grocery stores. I also like Isopure from GNC, just not the Mango Peach flavor (nastiest stuff I've ever tasted). These are good if you don't like milky shakes, these are more like koolaid. My advice is to get samples of lots of different types. Everyone is different and what one person loves another may hate. Hope you find something that you like, good luck.

Wonderful, keep up the great work! -
sounds good. you know what might work as well? using laughing cow cheese instead of the cream cheese. might have to try that. I just did ham and cheese in lettuce wraps for lunch the other day.

First Fill Monday, What Should I Expect?
colleenjoy replied to NettaRue's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had my first fill a couple of weeks ago. It went really well. I was so nervous before hand, She had me lay back with my hands about my head. She felt for the port, and said it was easy to find . She injected a little bit of numbing meds, then inserted the needle. I won't lie, for me I definitely felt the needle going in, it didn't really hurt, but felt lots of pressure. she put in 3cc, band was empty at surgery. Then she had me sit up, with the needle still in that was weird, but it didn't hurt. I had to drink some water. Since it gurgled a little going down she took about 0.5cc. after that it went down fine. laid back down and she removed the needle. I was on full liquids for 2 days, then mushies for a day, then advanced my diet as tolerated. Felt a difference the first couple of days, no pain, but more pressure in my chest when I was eating or drinking. That went away. now I don't feel much different, unless I eat to fast. Hopefully iy will go as smoothly for you.
