Searching For Protein Drinks...
colleenjoy replied to BeeKipp's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think I tried every Protein powder/shake I could find. All of the powders were disgusting to me. No matter what I mixed them with it still smelled/tasted awful. Of the shakes I tried I liked the Premier Protein Shakes the best. They have 30g of protein and I think 170 calories. They come in chocolate and vanilla. I mixed things in to change things up a bit. I also like the adkins carb advantage, but the don't ahve as much protein as the premier. The best thing you can do is try a variety to find what works best for you. You can get sample sizes from unjury and others. that way you don't have to buy a big tub and find out you hate it. What one person loves in another person's nightmare. Good luck! -
I completely understand what you are saying. The first week after surgery I thought I had made a mistake. I was in pain, I could hardly eat or drink anything and my emotions were all over the place. I made it, and so will you. I'm 6 months out and 75 pounds down. It was not easy, but you can do it!!

I've used my cpap for a couple of years now, didn't know they came in pink. I've lost 70+ pounds and am going to see my respiratory therapist to see if I should get another study done. Not sure when/if my insurance will cover it and don't want to have one now and not be able to get rid of it. I will be soooo happy when the machine is gone for good.

My Doc Only Gives 1 Cc (Max) Fills Per Month. Same For Everybody?
colleenjoy replied to wifeoffireman2's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My doc is conservative in his fills as well. Didn't have any at surgery, first fill was 2.5, second fill was 1.5 (4 total) had unfill of .5 the week after the fill, third fill was .5 (4 total). First fill was 5 weeks after surgery and the next were I think 5-6 weeks apart. I think I'm very close to the Green Zone for me, may even be there. I'm scheduled for a fill next week, not sure I'm going to get one or not. I'm glad he's conservative. I'd rather go slow, them be too tight. I'm amazed at the amounts other people get at a fill. For me I think that would be too much, but each person is different. -

ugh. up a pound since last week. That's what eating a boatload of halloween candy will do. 256.2 this week. -
congrats! you've done a great things for yourself having this surgery. Good luck in the future.

make sure you check with your dr. Mine didn't want me doing anything other than walking for at least a month post op. After that I had no restrictions, but it just depends on how you are healing.

Cholesterol Levels Increasing After Surgery?
colleenjoy posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have never had problems with my cholesterol levels, even at my highest weight. They were always normal, never even near boarderline. So imagine my surprise when me recent blood work shows my levels are high and my dr wants to start me on medication. I've lost 70 pounds, and probably are healthier than I have ever been. The only thing I can think is that since surgery I've been eating more protein in the form of eggs and cheese. Would that cause an increase in me cholesterol levels? Has anyone else had this happen? I really don't want to add a medication. I go in monday to talk to my dr about what I should do. -
Cholesterol Levels Increasing After Surgery?
colleenjoy replied to colleenjoy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for all the advice. This is my primary care dr, the one who hasn't even acknowledge that I've lost 70 pounds in the last 5 months, so I'm not exactly thrilled with her. I think I'm going to she what she says and then also talk to my surgeon and nutritionist at the surgery center. -
Looking For Size 2X Casual Clothing
colleenjoy replied to Sphinx's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Try Goodwill or Salvation Army or any other thrifts stores you may have in your area. I have found some great deals on clothes, some brand new still with tags. I haven't paid more than $4 for any piece. I'm lucky I have quite a few shops in my area and I love to shop so I do the circuit of shops every couple of weeks or so. It is hit or miss, some times I find a lot, and sometimes I don't get anything. -
October Spooktacular Challenge

checking in this week at 257.2, down a pound. Wish it was more, but with the poor food choices I made this past week I'm just happy to see a loss at all. -
sounds like Bandster Hell. How much Fluid do you have in your band? You may need a fill. Are you tracking how much you are eating and how long you feel full after eating? At this point who may just have to survive on shear willpower. You have done amazing so far, don't let this get you down.
