I'm out of surgery. Holy moly was I hot after... I was drenched with sweat on my face and body. I changed my gown for some pjs and feel so much better. Walked the halls. I had the dry heaves when I first got up to the bathroom but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I have swished with water in my mouth but am soooo thirsty .

i'm going to be in surgery within an hour. I got to san deigo around 1 pm . The driver met us at the airport and kept us entertained for the drive into Tijuana. The border crossing was easy and quick. Trish met us at the hospital and showed us the room . It's neat, and clean . The only downside is the sleeping arrangements for your guest... don't look super comfortable. I saw the cardiologist and had an ekg and some blood work. The nurse Sonya came in and got an iv on me. She did a fabulous job. First poke and I have HORRIBLE veins Trish has been wonderful. Showed my sister the cafeteria and my sister said it smelled amazing. I'll try to update once I feel better

I'm about 24 hours away! eeeeekkkkkk ... I wake up at 430 am to catch my flight and then fly until 1 pm . Surgery won't be until late afternoon! I'm excited and nervous

How often do you get a chance to see your insides lol... it's kind of neat

I booked at INT . You get a video, it's across from the hotel lucerna, and most importantly my Dr ( Ponce De Leon) works mainly out of there so you have a much more access to him. He's more likely to be around and pop in to check on you and if you have issues.

snoho1- that's exactly right! I think about the money I've spent on weight watchers and other diets and this seems much cheaper and more effective. Clothes will be cheaper, and not to mention food. Nothing like left over resturant meals, cheaper options on the menu, etc...

I'm bringing lip balm, magazines, my phone ( the hospital has wi-fi) my kindle a magazine or two. I'm not sure if I will do much reading but I'll have it with me if I get bored. I remember when I had my thyroid out a few years ago ( much easier surgery) I was so bored without something to read. I hate hospital gowns so I am bringing pajamas as well so I can change into those as soon as possible. I'm travelling for my surgery and will spend 2 nights in hospital and 2 nights in hotels. I am bringing some chicken broth powder, crystal light packets and some protien shake mixes as well for the plane and hotel.

my pre op diet is 3 days of just yogurt and water. I've been doing some protien shakes as well on my own.

I feel a little nervous but more excited than anything. I just keep wondering if I am doing everything I am supposed to , if I have everything I am going to need. This seems like it is the longest couple of weeks ever lol. I'm april 3 as well. In Tijuana at INT hospital with Dr ponce de leon.

my pre op diet is just 3 days of Water and yogurt. I'm doing some protien shakes ( Optifast ) alternating with light eating on my own to try to help the surgery go well- hopefully that helps and kick starts some weight loss.

Flight is booked, surgery booked! I'm going in under 3 weeks. April 3, 2012. I'll be at INT and having Dr Ponce de Leon. I'm so excited and nervous. My mom offered to pay for my sister to come with me. My boyfriend wasn't sure it was going to be a good time at work to go, and I was eager to get it done asap. \
