Hello my awesome supportive fellow bandsters! I just got home from my 11am surgery, quite the drive back! I am feeling drowsy but no pain. When I woke up I could hardly breath, panicked a little. The nurses assured me I was breathing alright, it just felt weird due to the gas. Just a heads up for all of you who have yet to one through it. The surgical team was great, put me at ease and I got a prescription for hydromorphone so I hope that means not a lot of pain. The weird thing is this...my surgeon did not have me do a preop diet, but I did as so many of you were doing I thought it wouldn't hurt. He also told me to eat some cottage cheese TONIGHT and have something like egg and toast tomorrow. I will continue as planned however, clear liquids to full liquids to mushies etc though. I have my wonderful husband taking care of me today and then my mother is insisting she come take care of me tomorrow while he is at work. Wish me luck on that one!!! I'll update again soon!

Well it's 345am and I am just about ready to give up on sleep!!! Getting banded at 11am however it is about a 2 hr drive from my house. I am nervous, but about stupid things like the IV!! I will post as soon as I stop seeing rainbows after surgery!

Tomorrow meaning SUNDAY morning!!!! Ackkkk!!! So insane!! I do have the best coworkers ever though. They ALL know and have been so flexible with my schedule

I got the call today that my surgery is tomorrow morning!!! It was supposed to be Friday but cancelled due to a plumbing issue. Yesterday they told me I would be very lucky to get in next Friday instead. Thank god I didn't bing eat or anything!!!!!!!! So I am just prepped my fridge and house, pulling the recliner out, and begging my coworkers to work for me next week! I have really appreciated the support here so far! A question- home made turkey broth. Should I even try during my liquids stage or just keep it for when I am able to make Soups or need my mashed spuds thinned out?

I just got the worst call. My surgical clinic has had "a plumbing issue" and has cancelled all surgeries for Friday. They have no idea when I will be able to go in as my surgeons are fully booked. Beyond upset.

Awww! I am so sorry! My surgery is this Friday but I was originally scheduled for exactly a month ago. I got a call that my surgeon had a conference and I BAWLED. Right or wrong, it feels like my life in on hold until I start this new chapter! Hang in there, get a timer, it's fun to count down

Hi! I am new to this site, being banded in Victoria BC this Friday. I am BEYOND nervous...afraid I will die on the table! I haven't had a whole lot of success losing weight preop...I have PCOS as well which doesn't make it easy! I am looking forward to hearing about our experiences and sharing mine as well.
