    50's

I turned 65 last week and am a year and a half out from surgery. Turned out to be a great decision for me.

    Ugh! Stalled!

I was revised 18 months ago today. The stall a few weeks after surgery is totally normal, although discouraging, I know. Just keep doing what your doctor says and it shouldn't take more than another week or two to start losing again. I lost 90 lbs but have gained 10 back. I've got to get back on track! My loss was slower than others who got bypass when I did but they are younger and weren't having revisions--both of which make weight loss slower. I'm 65 and had the band 5 years. I'm really happy with the results of the surgery but have also been discouraged at times. Comparing myself to others was one of my big pitfalls. My advice would be to have faith in the procedure and your doctors instructions, don't compare yourself to others, and only weigh once a week. Good luck!

    How about some NSVs!?!?

    How about some NSVs!?!?

It's so hard for our minds to catch up to our bodies it seems. Today, for the first time, I'm wearing a size 6 pant and an x-small top. Who knew this was ever possible? Not me! (That little voice in my head just said, "yeah but the pants are kind if stretchy and the sweater must run large"). Whatever. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

    What ya eating tonight?

We went camping when I was 6 months out and I had two bites of a s'more. I was a bit shaky but it was worth it. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

    Food getting "stuck"

I had the revision 7 months ago and have never slimed, gotten stuck, or thrown up. Not once. It was constant with the band. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

    What ya eating tonight?

There is only one brand of cottage cheese I really enjoy and it's from a local dairy. But I can eat others with a sprinkling of Salad Supreme. Extra good if you are allowed Ritz crackers. I put a spoonful of cottage cheese on the cracker and sprinkle with the seasoning. Delicious! I also eat my cottage cheese with the little cups of peaches or pears with no sugar added. It's my favorite breakfast post surgery. Just some ideas. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

    What ya eating tonight?

I can eat both. I have turkey sausage once every week or so but I'm 7 months out. My doc also advises against protein drinks. Thankfully I've always been able to get between 60-80g of protein every day. I eat a lot of Greek 2x yogurt. I eat extra lean ham and cheese rolled up almost every day and fish every day. Often I have low fat cottage cheese for breakfast. That all seems to do the trick. I'm thankfully one of the lucky ones who has never thrown up so getting in enough protein has not been a problem. I track everything on MFP to be sure I stay within 600-900 calories, 60-80g protein, less than 100g of carbs and less than 30g of fat. So far so good. I'm about 5 lbs from my original goal but thinking maybe I want to lose another 5-8 lbs. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

If you are anything like me, I would suggest the flounder. It's healthier and goes down easier, especially if you get distracted and don't chew as much as you should. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

Puffy/Tired Eyes! Am I the only one?

Could it be allergies or hay fever? I've never had either before but did have hay fever this year for the first time. Don't know if it was because of the surgery but that's the only thing that changed. Just a thought. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

    Cocktail hour!

That's what I do and have always done. Shirley Temple, virgin daiquiri, etc. I'll have to watch the calories, carbs from fruit and sugar, and carbonation now but I think it's doable. Good luck!

A popsicle made with Greek yogurt, a few fresh raspberries, and a couple of almonds. It's hot here today and I'm not really hungry. Delish!
