Me, too. I haven't discovered a pattern but I'll look for causes you all suggested. I do take iron every day so don't think it's that, unless I'm not taking enough. Glad to know I'm not the only weird one! -

Feel better Babysteps! We are on a road trip so my dinner was 1/4 of a steak salad at Costa Vida. No rice, no tortilla, vinegrette dressing. Yummy! -

Jessie, sometimes when you begin an exercise program you gain a little because muscle weighs more than fat. Be sure you do all you can to get your protein in. That will help with the loss as well as with your hair. Hang in there! -

New and looking for friends

I had surgery in December and I've never thrown up either. I've sometimes started to feel like the dumping was starting (fast heart rate, etc) but it only lasted 15 minutes or so and then I was fine. I also can eat more than I wish I could. My loss is slower than others but I've been able to lose 55 lbs. so, even though at times I wonder if I really did have the surgery, I'm certainly glad I've lost what I have. We are all different and we get in trouble when we compare ourselves to others, I've found. We need to celebrate our own success and you have 11 in 11 to celebrate! Good for you! -

Oops was trying to correct "dysmorphia" and hit send instead. Sorry. Anyway, I think it's common with us weight-challenged women. We all need a wake up call like you had. Hooray! -

Lap band scar tissue?
momlambert replied to futuremrsparker's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I had revision last December and did have some scar tissue but my surgeon went ahead and completed a successful surgery. My pouch is about a centimeter bigger than he would have liked but he said I won't notice it and waiting wouldn't have helped. So far, so good. Good luck to you Thursday. I really believe your prayers will be answered. -
Several of us December folks got UTI's a few weeks after surgery. I don't think it's that unusual because of the catheter, antibiotics, etc. Cranberry juice (no sugar added) helps if its not too advanced. If you try that and are still on pain, you should have a urinalysis done. You don't want it to progress to your kidneys.

Band to RNY..first steps
momlambert replied to ColoradoChick's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I eat mostly protein, at least 60g per day but usually 75+. Very low carbs: no potatoes, rice, bread, crackers or pasta--even whole wheat varieties. Very little fruit. I eat 70-80% protein and the rest veggies. That's a perfect eating day for me. -

I think you have the right idea. I've found increasing protein, water, and exercise usually does the trick. Good luck. -
