PLEASE keep your fingers crossed for me
momlambert replied to skylily's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I feel for you Skylily. So sorry you've had to go through this. I didn't have the problems you had but I did have revision from band to rny 5 months ago. I'm so happy I did it. I feel so good and more successful than I've ever been. I hope the same for you. Good luck and keep us posted. -
Band to RNY..first steps
momlambert replied to ColoradoChick's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I didn't lose much at first and hit a stall at 2 weeks. I still lose slower than most, it seems I'm 5 months out and have list 62 lbs. I'm not sure it's the fact I had the band as much as my age and my screwed up metabolism. I'm almost 64 and have dieted for over 40 years. Give it time!you WILL lose! -
Improvement in Facial Hair After Surgery?
momlambert replied to Smilejoelle1's topic in The Gals' Room
Oops. Premature send. Anyway, I've noticed that, too. I need to wax soon but haven't since just before my December surgery. Before surgery I has to wax every few weeks. Great benefit! -

December 2012 Post Op Group

Forgot to say that I'm down 63 lbs and have about 15-20 to go. Not sure where I want to end up. I'm 5'6" and thought 150 might be good but I'm not sure anymore. Have to see! I do know that 150 is no longer overweight so that would be great! -

Yes, it's great going through this together. My surgery was 12/10/12 and I'm slow and steady, too. About 1-3 lbs per week. I feel great as well. So happy about this decision. -
My weight loss haulted at five months with RNY. CONFUSED
momlambert replied to Breakingtheshell's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
So sorry for your troubles, Tina. I'm 5 months out and have lost 59 lbs. I've never lost 3-4 lbs in a week. Many weeks I've only lost a lb or sometimes nothing. So your loss of 9 lbs in 2 months doesn't seem like a stall to me. Especially since you have lost so much, aren't exercising, and getting closer to goal. Every pound counts! "9 stinkin pounds" is 9 big lbs lost! Sure it can be discouraging to lose slowly but you are going in the right direction and you ARE losing. I agree that any exercise of any kind would make a big difference. Hang in there! From where I sit, I think you're doing great. Slow and steady wins the race! My doc says slow losers often keep the weight off better. Good luck! -
I'm the mom of 10 children--all boys but nine--and the grandma of 11. My husband and I have been married 45 years and the kids are all ours together. Happy times (for the most part, anyway).

I'm 60. Anyone else over 50 doing RNY?
momlambert replied to Pam Peltz's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Great! She's not alone. Let her know there are lots of baby boomers here for her. When is her surgery? Please wish her well. -
Please pray... Again.
momlambert replied to futuremrsparker's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh, that's so discouraging. So sorry you have to go through this new trial. Prayers that things will turn around and you'll be able to get the rny soon. You certainly will appreciate it once you get there. Good luck! -

List of Band to Bypass Patients
momlambert replied to pebulz's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
It's a wonderful world of difference between the band and the bypass. Amazingly wonderful. I'm one of the lucky ones who hasn't ever thrown up on the 5 months since the revision. It's heavenly. Good luck to you! -

Newbie to the boards revision from lap band to Rny!
momlambert replied to Martinmommy3's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I'm also a lightweight who went from band to bypass. My revision surgery was December 10, 2012. I am losing slower than most but am thrilled with the 57 lbs I've lost. My doc says that usually the lightweights lose slower but get closer to goal. I'm 63 so I also have the effect of age on my slow loss. Slow and steady (except for those darned plateaus!) for me. Good luck to everyone pre- and post-surgery!
