I wanted to drink some theraflu the one that you drink a cup of hot but not sure. Has anyone used this before? Also I have joint pain which is one reason I got the surgery but not sure what I can take for pain either cause I look for liquid but can't find anything only for kids. Any suggestions?

Three Weeks Out Still With Port Pain?
jackieu replied to Brandi18's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded March 13th and I did have anything pain with the port area until 2 weeks post op now I get sore and sharps pains every once in a while. I can feel the port and feels like its placed in there correctly and I do not have any bruising. I think its just going to take some time to heal hopefully that comes soon. I am now 4 weeks post op in a couple of days and still getting the soreness and sharp pains. -
Thanks. I just got me some theraflu so hopefully this does the trick.

I'm worried that a pill won't go down right or that if it stays in the stoma to long it can cause ulcers.

Can someone help me figure out how to put my pictures side by side to compare them??

23 days post op amazing cannot believe I am almost one month post op. Well I got on the scale today and I have lost 23 lbs total since my preop diet. I guess the number 23 is my lucky number today..lol. I feel so good I even went to the gym today for the first time since surgery I did only do 35 min walking and at a slow pace but its the start. I could feel if I where to speed up that it would be to much for me to handle at the point because I'm still a little sore. Its true when people say listen to what you body is telling you because you don't want to over do yourself and your mind can sometimes take control and then you hurt yourself. Well everyone have a great day! For those of you going through surgery today or throughout the week Congrats to you and the beginning of your journey take care and keep us posted.

13 Days Post Op - Weak And Tired?
jackieu replied to Brandi18's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 3 weeks post op and for about the first 2 weeks I felt so weak so I started chewing 3 Vitamins instead of 2, calcium 2, Biotin 2 daily, Vitamin D 1 daily, and the one that helped the most was B 12. The B12 I found at walgreens its all natural and its liquid also it taste very good I would highly recommend it. Hope you start feeling better. -
Hello I am looking on here to see if anyone in my area would be interested in working out together in San Antonio. I live in the NW part of town I actually have a ballys membership but I can also do outdoor walking and running later on if you want. Well if anyone is interested let me know.

Hello everyone I have my first fill appointment on April 10 th and would love to get some advice on this. I am not sure if the surgeon filled my band with anything when in surgery because when I went for my post op appointment of course I didn't ask . You know when you got to your doctor and you have so many questions then you just for get to ask ughh I hate that..lol. anyways I do not get hungry I actuall have to remind myself to eat most of the time and today is my 17th day post op. Is this normal? I'm not complaining at all but I'm not sure if I should get that first fill. When I do eat I really cannot take much in either and I'm struggling to get in all the water I need. I have been taking those whey protien shots just to make sure I get enough protien for the day. Any advice on having a first fill? Anyone not need your first fill? I'm not sure if it that I don't need it or if I'm just scared to mess something up in there.

I am now banded as of this morning. When I came out of the surgery I did have a lot of chest pain and shoulder pain which is referred to as gas pain the nurse did give me some meds for pain and it helped out a lot. Now I'm at home and I took some gas x and that really helped I have not had any stomach cramping which I'm I thought I would just some shoulder pain but not as bad as I thought. I do feel very sore from the incisions that bothers me the most especially when I have to get out of bed.I am walking every hour for 5-10mins to prevent any blood clots. My surgeron and everyone did an awesome job!

What If You Drop Under The Required Bmi Before Surgery?
jackieu replied to justathing2me's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was also told the same I weighed in at 207.8 and before surgery I was 197 but they said they go with your first weigh in. -
I really am gonna have to try some of that peppermint tea I hear so many people talk about that type of tea on here. You know I really have had any soreness with my port and I hear so many people say that one area that bothers them because its sore but mine hasn't bothered me at all. I don't know if its because my surgeon put it right under and old scar I had from a previous surgery.
-
That's a really good idea I think I'm gonna try that cause this really didn't start till I started my mushies and some meats. Thanks let me know how it works for you as well. When did you have your sugery? And do you still have some pain when you bend down to pick something up?

I have actually been moving around a lot I went back to work after 6 days so that keeps me busy. I have been trying gas-x and that really hasn't helped me much. Also I still cannot eat much I have one egg for breakfast, lunch yogurt 3oz, and dinner I have some tuna 2.3oz and all meals take me 40-50 min to eat so my bites are very small. I think I should be eating a little more but I just can't right now I get full so fast. Any one else going through this?
-
That's what I was thinking about the air trapped in there but I have had the shoulder pain since the third day after my surgery. When did you have your surgery cause I know you said you still have shoulder pain? I also have been trying gas-x to see if it relieves the pain but it doesn't seem to help. I shouldn't even say that its pain its more like an uncomfortable feeling almost feels like I have a lump of something under my left breast but I don't feel anything from outside of my body its inside.

What Side Is Your Port On?
jackieu replied to JohannaMae's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have my port on the right side. I had my appendix removed 11yrs ago so my surgeon just cut over the same scar.
