Thanks Mary for the encouraging post. I have been feeling about the same way. I was banded 15/03 and am able to eat just about anything at this time, I have had 1 fill and don't get my second one till May 23. I am hoping there will be more restriction then. Today after having a Mothers Day Brunch and my Daughters noticed how much I was able to eat, I felt really bad and began thinking that this is something I have wasted my money on again, trying to lose weight. The scale hasn't moved in a few weeks. I though I would be losing it faster. Sorry about the griping , (having a bad day I guess)Just looking forward to having the restriction I read about and to knowing that I did the right thing after all. Thanks for listening . Bev

Hey Everybody!!! Glad to hear most are doing ok.I have had only one fill (5CC) and some times I can eat just about anything and then the next time hardly anything. The band is a finicky thing. Late evening I wish it would be tighter because I am is able to have my favorite snack of (too Much) popcorn. Haven't had a PB yet( knock on wood) but I have had the foaming at the mouth, usually when I eat too fast or don't chew very well. That sure is an eye opener. i haven't been able to get into exercising as of yet, but have tried to be out in the garden a bit more.Would really like to get into swimming but haven't had the time or energy. Yesterday I felt really light headed and dizzy, even though I had eaten, what I usually eat in a day at work. Anyone else have this or know what might have caused it?

My doctor was very supportive, when I went in and said that I was thinking of getting the band and told him about the info I had gotten, he said that he was glad to hear it and that is exactly what he was going to suggest.I was so happy to hear that . And here I am 8 weeks with the band and 35 lbs gone and no regrets. Do your own research and read a lot of what is on this board, it will be very helpful. All the best on your journey to being thinner.

Good afternoon Everyone! about this board changing I thought the same thing???? I am getting ready for my Accupunture treatment this afternoon, I try to go at least 3 times a month. I love it. It really helps to keep my pain in check (Fibromyalgia) you should try it . Love to also get a massage.....AHHHHHHHH so relaxing. Had my first fill on Tuesday...some restriction but not overly. But is my band ever NOISEY now. Even the dog looks at me funny after I eat. Anyone else notice this??? Sorry to hear about your cousin TammyJ. Have a safe trip to Jackson. Talk to you all later. Bev

Hi Just came back from my fist fill..yahoo oooooooooo It was great to talk to so many there in the same boat and compare just like on this board. We need to be patient is what I was told ...we didn't put all this weight on over a couple of weeks and it isn't going to come off in a couple either. They said it may take another 6-8 weeks before we see anything starting to come off. So I figure anything we have lost so far is a bonus.......Because they really are not expecting you to be losing . So keep up all the great work we are all doing WONDERFUL!!!!!! :) Go MarChieS!!!!!!!!!!!:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

Argon; Good luck with the yougart & cottage cheese thing. I can't believe it , but I am having a really hard time with no restriction (No fill yet) so I also went out and got some yougart & cottage cheese again to help me till fill day. After doing it for 2 weeks the first time I swore I would never have that stuff past my lips again...LOL....Who knew????? It really does work and I felt pretty good on it as well, compare to some other diets I have tried in the past. Good Luck Thinking of you ....keep us posted.

Anitya: When I had my first consult. We just went over my paper work re meds and general health. I asked questions regarding the Band and actually saw the band on her desk. I went early and found it very helpful to talk to the people that were waiting in the waiting room. Some were newly banded and one 8 months and then a guy came in who had just had it done 2 days before and was just coming in for the after diet that he forgot to get. It was very comforting to see this guy who came in. That he was walking in on his own and then flying home in a few hours was very reasuring. I had my band gone 5 weeks ago and would do it again in a minute. Everyone that I delt with at the clinic so far have been very helpful and freindly. At this first meeting I made my appointment for surgery.which was only 5 weeks from that day. I was very surprised at that, but I had done a lot of reading and had also gone to my family Dr. to discuss and I was sooooo ready. The pre op diet was a bit of a challenge, but the weight came off each day so that made it easier to stick to. I hope this has helped and I haven't rambled too much . Good Luck I will be thinking of you .:clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

Purple monkey; I don't know how many replys you will get from this group regarding your question about fills. Since we are all just newly banded , I my self as you can read can not wait for a fill. Go to some of the older posters and ask there I think you would have better replys. Way to go again on the 50 lbs keep up the great work. I don't think you will need a fill anytime soon if you keep that up. Bev

Josiebes Glad to hear that you are feeling better.

Hi everybody. Hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful weekend.( Its beautiful in Southern Ontario any way?) 8 more days till I get my first fill and at this rate I will have gained 8 more lbs AHHHHHHHHHH .:help: :violin: :violin: Help!!!!! I am having last meal syndrome again, since I have no restricting. I am pretty good all day, then in the evening I can not stop munching. It doesn't help that DH has been out of town since Thursday. We don't spend much time apart and I really am lost with out him. Ya ...even after being married 29 years next month. I really find this board helps....I have never spent so much time at the computer at home. Thinking of getting a second one just so DH and I don't have to Wrestle for the thing when we get home from work. I really need some encouraging words to get me though the next 8 Days. Purple monkey: 50 lbs Way to go :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

Josiebies , thanks for the tip on night time meds. I have thought that it takes a longer time for my pain meds to kick in at night, ( for my fibro not band related) but then all of a sudden they hit like a stone and they are are over welming, now I know why. I thought it was all in my head...LOL Glad you are feeling better, that must have been very scarey to pass out, not once but twice. Foe your Dh also. Really try to get more protein in , from what I have read this should help. Kyethra: Sorry to hear you have to have another operation. It take so much more out of us when we have fibro. Hope you are feeling better soon. I know what you mean about our bodies feeling older than we are. You seem to have so much on your plate( no pun intended) good for you to be able to keep up with it all. Some days getting dressed is exhasting for me. Very frustrating to say the least. I try to stay possitive as the world goes spinning so fast past me & enjoy the simple things.

I hear ya Mary! I am 5 weeks post op and feel I could eat just about anything and really want a fill now. I am not going for my first fill until May 01,. Can't wait. Not been able to do much in the way of exercising either, I have Fibromyalgia and had a bad flare of Pain last week and was flat out on my back in bed on the heating pad and Pain killers. This week is going to be so much better I hope. Sun is finally shining and I am going to get out to walk. I have gained back a couple of pounds this week, hoping to find them gone again soon. Good luck with your Fill on Monday. I agree...lets get this party Started!!
