Hi Mandi Just wanted to add my 2 cents worth about your new Medication. I was recently switched to Effexor from being on Prozac for about 12 years. Wow...what a differance in the bedroom...I am so happy to be back, and so is my DH . Hope you have the same results. Bev

Wow..Had a lot of catching up to do. Sounds like everyone is doing so well. I have just returned from Mexico a Hoilday with my family., (my DH and our 2 married daughters and their DHs.) It was an all-inclusive Hardly seems worth it now with the Band. What a differance in thinking with this new Tool.Shocking to see how much everyone puts on their plates at one of those things. I was so happy for the Band. But I still managed to gain weight. Might of been the Drinks??LOL Ready to get back on track. Going for a fill on Wed. not as restricked as I should be. Still managing to get too much down before I feel restriction. Have been playing around with the same 7 lbs for long enough. I will definately be getting a little bit in after the experience last time of having to have an emergency de-fill. Oh -Julie.. Glad to hear you had a good time in Vegas. I was wondering if the trip was still on? Hadn't hear any more about it.Too bad everyone backed out ..maybe next time (IF there is one organized )there will be a better turn out . I though it sounded like a good idea, but i already had plans.:wink2: I take it from everyones comments the Sparks is the better of the 2 to track everything. Going to start that tomorrow . Ready to get back on track. Have a great week everyone. PS... METAWNNY: The bar of soap seems to be helping...GO Figure???????? BEV

Happy New Year to you All!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Still haven't gotten on that scale. Tomorrow will be the big day. I know I need to drink more water and to get in more vegies. Just a quick question...Does anyone have trouble with leg cramps????? I get them about once a week especially at night when I am trying to sleep. Last night I was woken up with them every time I tried to roll over. I did dance a lot in the evening but still. Any helpful suggestions out there before I go running to my Dr. Thanks

Uncomfortable eating solid food/3 weeks post surgery
Rosi replied to Claire's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Some people just take longer to heal. The reason I was given to take it easy with adding solids was that the stomach is swollen from the surgery. Just like it gets irritated after every fill adjustments. Don't forget you have something foreign inside of you and it's going to take time (some longer than others )to adjust. It will all calm down don't rush it, but do listen to your body. This will be the best thing you have ever done for your self. Best wishes on the journey with the Band. -
:clap2:Hey Everybody! Glad to hear we have all survived the holidays. Only one more celibration to get through, and thats New years Eve and all that goes with that. Going out of townfor that and all you can eat buffets for all meals OH Yea! Give me strenghth!!!! I haven't been on the scale for about a week and a half, Thats quite the acomplishment for me, I am a slave to that damn thing. Hoping i'm making mostly smart choices. Hi Fellow Marchies... I too haven't posted in a while. I just didn't feel I was doing anything too wonderful to talk about, but I sure have missed you all.Now I know I need to visit here more often for the support. I felt I had stayed the same for too long and I should be doing better, so I went to the Dr for a fill. Everthing was OK at the office and I could get down a bottle of water no problem.(WED) That night I stuck to fluids. Next day I tried a cooked egg, not so great, half came back up. I though I was still just swollen from the fill. From then on I couldn't keep any fuids down, not even my own saliva. By the time I realised I was in trouble (Fri PM) I couldn't get hold of my Dr. I didn't want to go to the Emerg here at the Hospital because I couldn't be sure that anyone would even be able to give me a de-fill plus the wait here at the Emerg is usually around 6-10 hrs. Saturday Morning I had my DH go though all the papers I received after my Surgery and we found the surgeons Cell Phone # in case of an Emerg. Well by this time I felt it was an Emerg. We called and he had me drive to the hospital that he has Drs. trained in defills. 2 hrs away. When we got there I was to phone him again. To my surprise he met us there and did the de-fill himself. I was so impressed by this, and so was my DH. He was so nice and said that everybody usually goes though this just because we are all very impatient in our quest to lose weight fast. As long as I was still losing weight even if it was slowly then the band was doing its job. Now go and enjoy the new way to eat and don't feel that it has to all come off in a hurry . This is here for life, not just a temporary fix. Very valuable lesson learned. and I now feel much better about myself just knowing that what I am doing is OK and I will get there eventually. Just thought I would share this with you all to keep in mind that we have come sooooooo very far and we will do just fine in the future with our life time buddy.

Wat to go Marchies!!!!!!!!!! Hard to believe it more than 6 months. I am still getting use to this new Tool. Just when I think I need another fill I can hardly get anything dow for a few days. Been sitting at the same weight for 3 weeks now but I know it will go. Oh Juli Congrats on the half way mark you are an inspiration to me...keep up the good work . Ahhhhh, to be in onder land still seems so far away, but having an interesting trip on the way and I know I will arrive. That s the beauty of this great tool. Have a good week everyone.

To weigh or not to weigh, this is the question??? How often does everybody weigh themselves? I am still soooo addicted to the scale. How to go cold turkey or cut back... open to suggestions. I too want 10 lbs to be gone this month.

Hey Ladies, Just wanted to drop a quick line. Been away again for my last week of holidays and I am so sad that summer is coming to an end. Having a fun time getting use to this finacky? band. Tight in the AM then usually loosens up a bit as the day goes by. I found if I have a hot drink right before I eat my Meal thing will go down a bit better. What small portions though...and since its just the 2 of us it hardly seems worth it to cook. So we do eat out more than we should and then I end up with a fridge full of leftovers. I can really relate with the having more time to do other things besides eating. I painted a bedroom this week while away. At this rate I should have my whole house remodeled in about 6 months. Already did the den last month. But unfortunately I will have to go back to work soon and use my energy there. How Boring. Have a great weekend, everybody. Bev

Sophie: I am having the very same problem, with my weight lost, its just not coming off of the waist. I know exactly what you mean about the hard to fit part. If I can get the pant done up at the waist then the rest of it is so baggy I look like a clown. I do some swimming and walking for my activities, what should I be doing to correct this? Anyone have any suggestions?

Prayers being sent to you and your Dad.

Mary: what a good idea, to put an ad out.good luck with it. Kyethra: So sorry to hear you lost it over your hair. You have been through so much in the last few months .I was wondering where you had gone to? Next time put down the scissors and pick up the key board, we are all here for you. The nice thing with hair though is that it grows back. Thinking of you . Stay positive. Oh Juli: You are an inspiration to us all. Way to go with the biking and the weight lost. I want to try biking again, I got the bike out of the attic and the tires where flat. Asked DH to blow them up for me. 3 weeks later he finally got around to it. He blew them up literaly.LOL He said he miss read the number on the tire and over inflated them. He turned around to exit the garage and one BLEW. He thought he had been shot. Scared the S*&t out of him. Now I am waiting until he gets me a new tire. Maybe its a sign. Just glad it didn't happen while biking.LOL I shall stick to the treadmill for now. My weight is staring to move in the right direction, but today I had a really stressful day (Uncle Died) and having a hardtime getting down Water. I PB'd what I tried to eat for lunch so I think I should stick to liquids for a couple of days. Does stress seem to effect anyone elses band this way?

i am so confused.. about foods and fullness
Rosi replied to JA4602's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Crazycat: Thanks for the post . That is exactly how I feel when I eat . So gald to hear I am not alone. I have had 3 fills and think this is at the right spot, at least for now. I am losing 2-3 lbs a week now.You are so correct in saying that its not that I don't want to eat its that the band Just doesn't want any more. I am finally getting to understand its signals and By Golly it's working. I do miss eating though. I never realised how often people snack, thats also tough. But nothing will Taste as good as being Thin will feel right? Have a great Day! -
Hi Rose. Don't fret over the surgery, it was really nothing , would do it again tomorrow if need be. I found the hardest part of the whole thing was the pre-op diet. Just keep telling yourself why you have to do it. To shrink your liver. You will do fine. There are so many posts about right after the surgery that you can read non stop till then if you want. I too was very nervous with the surgery consitering that this is something that I am doing just for me.not an emergency if you get what I'm saying. The guilt of it all if something were to happen, but then I would have a good long talk with myself and to me THIS was an emergency. I am so happy that I had it done, I know this will be my last Fat summer. My prayers are with you, you will breeze thought it all and look back and wonder what you were worried about. By the way I am not in TO but in Kitchener -Waterloo almost a suburb these days. Best of luck. Bev

Denise ..hope you are feeling better in no time. I see you are an night owl as well. just catching up on some post. We have been having our den wallpapered so the computer has been un useable. I really missed it. I should say I missed the chat board. Everyone on here gives me so much inspiration its like having a shrink right in the house.LOL i know I would like to see the weight come off a lot faster but the nice thing is I know its coming off for good this time. I still am fighting that damn head hunger thing, where the food looks so good and I just want one or two more bites even though the band is trying to tell that I'm full. Not much fun, I guess i will get tired of the sliming after every meal soon right??????. DAAAAHHHH I always was a slow learner. I too will try to contribute more to this board, its not that I'ts not that I'm not here, I always read everything. Sorry will try harder.

How are you doing with the band 4 months out?
Rosi replied to Paula78's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi, I was banded March 15, I have had 3 fills (8cc in a 10cc Midband ) so far feeling great restriction, maybe too much...Iam going to give it another week and see how I feel. The scale has started to move again. Now I need to Make healthier choices. Sound familiar?????? -
Second Fill - don't feel any different
Rosi replied to susansilver's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Had my third fill on Wed. I'm now at 8cc. she put in 1.5 but I couldn't get down water while I waited. That was a horrible feeling. I thought I might up it right there in the waiting room.Went back in and she removed .5 and I could then feel the water make it way though. Feeling good restricting now.and the scale has finally started to move again. I too am still fighting this head Hunger beast. I want to eat more but the good old band is doing its job and I am so Happy with that. Still its frustrating at the same time. I am sure it will take a while to get this new way of life in our heads: To eat to Live and not live to eat. I forget who mentioned it a while back about everything been certred around eating and not noticing it so much but now I sure do. Isn't it the truth. Hope everyone has a good weekend. I find weekends the hardest. More of the social thing happening and food everywhere.
