  1. So outta the 11 days post op I say I messed up about 4 of them days :( within a week I had lost 21 lbs I've gained about 5 lbs back :( but I have my head straight fo' sure I can't afford to keep slippin' up

    Good thing is you recognize your mistake, it's never too late to correct it. You can do it :)

    I would love to substitute. Hopefully my dr gets back to me. She's usually really good about it.

    Cottage cheese I may can handle post op but with the fruit. For some reason it's not good to me. I haven't eaten much broth because it's just nasty and makes me wanna hurl.


  3. Did they give you a Cal count? As long as you stay under that I would say yes. Two of those is only 220 Cal's.

    No cal count, nothing but a pre op paper with food choices and how many servings I could have. I can have unlimited broth, sf Jello and Popsicles, crystal light or any 0calorie drinks, coffee or tea. And 1-2 servings of Protein shakes, half cups of skim milk-1serv, cottage cheese(yuck!), soy milk, light yogurt 1/8ozserv... So I'm lost really. Just concerned about the shakes.

    Ok, maybe I should try to communicate with my dr. I wasn't told a specific number but I know it needed to be high and the sugar and carbs needed to be low. I was instructed to only have 1-2 Protein shakes due to the sugar and carbs in it. So I was thinking of just mixing my own up, that way I can control my Protein intake and keep an eye on those carbs and sugars. As of now I'm drinking Premier Protein shakes which is 30g protein. They taste pretty good but I want to make sure I'm getting enough. Thanks for your feedback :)

My preop was the first week 800 calorie foods and now im on 800 calorie liquids..the hunger goes away for me my body just feels different..if i get up to fast i get a little dizzy..don't feel like i can focus quite right lol..but i keep telling myself this is the worst of it and looking forward to monday..and i did lose 11 pounds since i started..hang in there ;)

    WTG on your weightloss so far. I have that dizziness going on as well if i get up too fast. Congrats on a job well done :) and thanks for sharing


  6. How many calories, carbs and sugars are you taking in each day? I'm struggling to make it to 800 cals. I fear that at this rate I won't lose weight on the liquids and my body will go into starvation mode. It's tough not having a scale because I can't see if I'm losing any weight. I had got to a point where my body was burning fat and my metabolism had boosted from the norm. I don't want my body to go backwards :(

    I'm on day 5 of the pre op diet. Go to the doctor the day before surgery. I want to do my body more good than harm. Any feedback would be great. Thanks :)


  7. Hey thanks! Good luck with your diet you can do it. I pretty much eat whenever I want. Although now, i dont fimd myself so hungry anymore. I eat fat free chicken, beef and vegetable broth. sugar free Jello and ice pops. Protein Drinks. And lots of Water lots of water. I drink so much I go to the bathroom 10-15 a day lol, I counted.

    Cool! I have also noticed that I go to the bathroom more often. It even wakes me up out of my sleep, haven't had that happen since I was pregnant :lol:

    But Im glad you are doing well and we are pretty much doing the same diet. Only thing is, I find the broths to be very nasty. Besides that, everything is ok. Good luck and Im here if you need to talk. Message me anytime.


  8. Went to speak to my primary yesterday and he is onboard with me getting the lapband. I'm going to Mt. Sinai on Monday for their info. seminar. I am so excited.

  9. Soo I just came back from my pre-surgical testing and I found out I'm down 10 lbs since Monday the day I started the liquid diet. Now I am on day 4 of liquids I can't say it's easy but it is easier when u see that you've lost weight. Hang in there guys :)

  10. Good morning friends' date=' made through day 1 of liquids. Took in 840 calories and burne 2350. Fell a little short on Protein and a bit high on carbs so I need to tweak today. This really sucks! I have no energy I feel like a wet dish rag and it's only day two. I have my pre- op appt today. Thanks for all ur support!     Hi. I hope things get easier as the days go by. I'm on day 3 and I have no energy. Having a hard time getting over 400 cals. How are you making it to 800? Please share. I totally suck at this liquid diet when it comes to ideas on how to get the stuff my body needs to keep burning fat.

    Feel free to message me if you just need to vent. There's lots of support here and the good thing is, we are not going through this alone :)

As I posted before my surgery is may 11 and I am really struggling with my preop diet (protein shakes and a few veggies ONLY) although it's been so difficult and I'm on day 7 of my preop diet..I HAVE LOST 10lbs!!!!! In one week!! :) so happy!! Whenever I'm starving I just remember my dedication to following the rules and the success is shown on the scale!!! Im hoping for another 5-10lbs this week before my surgery! Anyone else have success like this on the 2week preop diet??!

    Hi. I too am kind of struggling with the liquids only. I wish I could have veggies. I'm only on day 2 and I just want to vomit from all the liquids. I'm trying to keep my mind focused on why I'm doing this.

    Congrats on your weightloss! That's awesome! Keep up the good work. You have just inspired me. How many shakes areu having a day?

I am on day 4 of my preop diet and have found that if I stay ahead of the hunger I do better I have my coffee at 8am, a Protein Drink at 9:30, chicken broth at 11:30, SF Jello at 1:30, Beef broth at 3:30, a Protein Shake at 5:30, SF popsicle at 7:00 and bed by 9. I am satisfied with this plan.

    I love this!! WTG! I am on day 1 and Im trying to figure out ways to stay ahead of my hunger. This is a very nice plan. Good for you hon! :)
