  1. its day 10 and I'm feeling a lot of things. I'm not too hungry but this liquid diet has me gassy and backed up. I felt sick for a few days, maybe because I'm not getting enough liquids. I've been trying to get my Protein in but it's becoming more and more difficult due to the taste of the shakes. They have become quite nasty to me.

    I find myself wondering how am I going to make it through the next four days as well as the post op diet. It's not so much the hunger that bothers me, it's the headaches, gassiness, Constipation, dizziness and lightheadedness.

    Anyhow, I'm just venting. Don't have anyone else to talk to about this. I haven't told many people and the three people that knows, wouldn't understand.

    Praying it gets better with time. I try to keep in mind, this time next month I will be banded and eating "normally" again.

  2. It definitely is a to-your-taste kind of thing. I enjoy the Premier Protein shakes from SAMs club. They chill nicely and don't have the nasty aftertaste (again my personal opinion). I've tried the Pure Protein Shakes from Walmart and they taste terrible to me. However, I'm trying to drink them all because I spent $$ on them.

    I'm determined to find a powder-because they last longer-that I like. I hope that you find one too. Good luck :)


  3. Hi all. Just wanted to quickly post to let you know I made it ok. I am in my hospital bed right now. Glad i could stay overnight. Not trying to scare anyone but I truly did not expect this level of pain. Overall things have gone smoothly and I will share more once I feel better. All the best. xo

  4. Well....Friday will be here before I know it. I was blessed to only following a diet for two weeks and start my liquid diet tomorrow. Well.....I started it today because I'm afraid doc will get in there and say my liver is to big!! What Ive had today is Breakfast....a shake.....Lunch.....a shake....snack....jello. I got home from work and want to wait a bit before making another shake so I'm sipping on some beef broth and it is delish. I thought that it was going to be very hard today (doing liquids) but it has actually been pretty good. And did I mention the broth is delish...LOL!! Oh and I've had all my Water plus!!! Ive been writing down what Ive had today which wasnt hard to keep up with ....LOL My plan is to have one more Jello before the night ends so my calorie intake for today will be 460. Anyways y'all have a great night.

    What kind of broth are you sipping? The broth I've had has been the worst, YUCK! Friday will be here before you know it. Yay!! Good luck and can't wait to see your updates.

  5. Currently killing myself with nerves. Surgery in 2 days' date=' so anxious! Luckily one of the surgeons assured me that they usually issue an anti anxiety med via IV. I guarentee I'll need that!

    I had the option of leafy greens and lean meat during the diet, last week I did all shakes and fruit, this week a bit of both, going back to liquids for the last two days.

    Came down with strep throat, doing a Z Pack, hoping to Bob it goes away before Friday.[/quote']

    I can imagine how you must be feeling. I'm super excited for you. My surgery is a week from today and I'm geeked! I was told the same thing about the anti anxiety med and I was like YES! so you're not alone.

    Hope the strep throat goes away very soon. Good luck and wishing you a very speedy recovery. Looking forward to your updates :)

  6. I use the chocolate powder. I buy it from Wal-Mart. I like it because I can have it for Breakfast and get more than half of my Protein in a day. It is 50 grams of Protein a day if you use two scoops...it has 3 net carbs per serving...which multiply by 2 for two scoops. It is also 140 calories per scoop. I find that it fills me up until lunchtime. I make it with Water and add ice for a shake like texture. Though it is much easier to mix if you mix the mix with Water then add the ice and blend.

    Has anyone tried this and do you know how many carbs are in it? I looked it up but I'm not finding the carbs. Also, how does it taste? I'm in day 7 of pre op diet and I'm just trying to mix things up because I'm tired of the broth and sf jello/Popsicles. Thanks!
