Very nice to read this. I was just in the lap band complication thread and it SCARED THE LIVING CRAP out of me.

This scares me to the max! I have two kids, I got this surgery to help me prolong my life, not possibly shorten it.
I'm so sorry to hear all this. It saddens me and brings me to tears. This is sad
I pray for all of you who are going through this

Woo HOO I just hit onderland then. Got on the scale this morning and I was 198' date=' I have lost 13 pounds since my 5/16'12 banding. My first fill is June 18th and even thought I am a bit nervous over it I am excited as I know the results will be awesome!Thank you all for all the input you put on here for those of us who read it and use it for support! I will share my experiences as well in hopes it can help or encourage someone too...Here is to less of all of us!![/quote']
That's awesome! I was banded on 5/15/12 and I hope to have lost some weight since then. My first fill is June 27th best of luck to you!

Congrats. I can relate. It took us two years to conceive. I did WW and lost 50lbs, got pregnant after I lost that. Of course gained it all back plus more. At my daughters first bday party, I was pregnant and didn't know it. Found out two weeks afterwards. Now we have two miracles and I lost over 20lbs during my second pregnancy.
I'm saying all this to say a few things; you're not alone with the bag of nerves (I was there), MIRACLES do happen, once you have this healthy baby (because I'm praying for you) be careful because you can get pregnant very easily and most of CONGRATS on your expected arrival
Keep us updated. Wishing you the very best in everything.

Welcome! There's lots of great support here no matter where you are in your journey, there's always somebody who understands
Best of luck to you

I was banded May 15th as well. I also use MFP and I'm just now making it to 700 cals a day. You are doing great in my opinion and if you're eating 800 cals and are losing weight, then I'd say that's evidence enough.
Do what works for you

I'm in Chicago as well and I've been going through the process with UIC with Dr Elli. He's awesome and I was banded 5/15/12. So far it has been 5 months since I began the process with them and I have been pleased so far. The nutritionist are great and understanding in my opinion.

Were you at DayOne? How did eveything go that day? I do my preop stuff on Monday then they call me thursday with the time for Friday. How did you do with the anesthesia? I'm getting nervous to be honest' date=' with eveything but I am trying to stay excited. I just can't believe it's so soon!! How was Dr Elli?[/quote']
I'm at UIC Hospital. He works at both. Everything went smoothly that day. I was nervous weeks before my surgery date but honestly the closer I got, the less nervous I was. I was unbelievably calm that morning. The nurses and staff made it much easier by being nice about everything. Dr Elli entire surgery team came to see me and talked to me before surgery. They made me feel comfortable.
I was afraid to go under anesthesia but I tell you this, one minute I was talking to one of the surgeons about my tattoos and the anesthesiologist asked me was I ok and that's the last thing I remember. Next time I opened my eyes, they were standing around my bed talking to me about how many incisions I had and Dr Elli was there and told me I did great. I was very sleepy and could barely keep my eyes open. I was horse and had major cotton mouth.
You will do great! If I made it through-and I have anxiety attacks- I believe you will be just fine
If you believe in prayer, just pray the night before or the day of and just trust God.
It will be over with before you know it. Good luck and let us know how it goes

I did as well during my pre op diet. Just get all your fluids in and get up slowly. I'm 2 weeks post op and I still get dizzy but it's been tough getting all my 64oz in.
I hope your dizziness gets better soon. Best of luck to you

Yay!!! Great job!
I was able to get my first walk in yesterday. Two weeks post op and I made it 1 mile and I wasn't tired, dizzy, lightheaded nor out of breath!
Keep up the good work

What Have I Done?
in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Oh boy!
It has finally crossed my mind. I was banded 5/15/12 and I'm thinking, what have I done? I was in the Complications thread and reading all the things that has gone wrong with ppl and ppl dying from complications has me in tears and deep fear.
I want to LIVE and I want to be here with my kids and live a healthy life. That's the reason I got the surgery. Now I'm feeling like I signed my own death certificate.
I'm just venting and I'm not trying to bring anyone down. I'm scared and afraid of failing once again.
