  1. Hi all

I was banded 5/15/12. Today was my first fill and I must say it went better than I thought. I was given barium to swallow as my band was filled. He put 3-4 ccs in there. I say 3-4 because he said that's where he usually starts, either way, I can definitely feel the difference. I'm on liquids for 2 days. Yay more Protein Shakes, oh how I've missed you... NOT! Lol

6 weeks til next fill not sure if I'll need it. It took me forever to finish a cup of Decaf. We will see. Just updating those who have supported me and who cares :) thanks for all the support, it's greatly appreciated.

  2. I'm 5 weeks post op and I was feeling great. However, for the last two days I seem to have some discomfort on my left side where the largest incision is. It travels up to my chest from time to time. I have been walking at a moderate pace somedays, others slow paced.

I'm calling my surgeons office in the morning. I was just wondering had anyone else had this happen to them.

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

  3. Me too! My surgeon is William Richards' date=' recognized in US News & Workd Reports as "America's Top Doc" in Bariatric surgery, preformed over 1000 LapBand surgeries, 0 slips, 0 erosions and 0 loss of life during surgery... I did my homework and trust my doc... Wish everyone would stop acting like they are the experts on what I am directed to do! Each person does as they are instructed and don't need do many bystander bodies questioning it because it was different than what they were instructed! Perhaps new information is available and not all the docs have updated yet???[/quote']

Everyone will have their opinion, don't let ppl piss you off. Do as you are told by your surgeon and/or nutritionist and you will be fine. Everyone is convinced that their surgeons way is THE way when in fact we are all different and each surgeon have their reasons for why they do things the way they do. If we all follow the rules we were given we will see results, bottom line. That's what we all want, right? Positive results. Continue to trust your surgeon, you chose them for a reason.

Wishing you the very best on your journey :)

  4. They both seem to tell SOME of us different things. Which do you follow?

The surgeon has the medical expertise and the nutritionist has the nutritional expertise. In my case, I see my surgeon and then he sends me to the nutritionist whose office is like about six steps from his patients rooms. I like the idea of keeping it separate otherwise it could confuse someone, especially a newly banded person like myself.

Just wondering others opinions about it.

    Sharing is caring!! :D
