Cocktails After Vsg?
krissy20 replied to MJ's comingN2form's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a drink about two months out and have a drink at least once a week usually I drink vodka tonic with lime with cranberry they have cranberry juice made with Splenda that I use or the skinny girl line is usually low cal low carb depending which one you get . I suggest you take it easy at first and see how your body tolerates it cause I did have an experience where I felt fine and then it all hit me at once and let's just say I didn't feel very good the next day haha !!! I even have an occasional glass of wine I just track my calories on my fitness pal and always make sure I'm staying within my calories and working out !! I'm almost four months out now and have lost 60 pounds and feeling great -

If you have an iPhone there's a Nike training app that gives you 30 minute workouts on target areas it's really cool I'm sure any other smart phone has it as well

After Returning To Work I Find My Self Hungry More Often ?!?
krissy20 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Okay so I recently returned to work and I find that while at work I'm getting hungry more frequently? I'm not sure if it's due to the increase in activity and my body is metabolizing the food faster ? Oh FYI I'm an RN at a hospital so for 12 hours I am going constantly so I'm not sure if that's the reason and also I'm not able to actually sit down and eat so I'm just picking at my lunch here and there when I get a chance so just needed some feedback cause while I was at home I wasn't getting so hungry ?!? -
Ok so I currently as per my dr take multivitamin in am with two calcium chews for lunch I take b12 and vitamin D dinner I have another multivitamin and two more calcium chews and before bed a probiotic . Am I always gonna have to take all these vitamins or is this just initially postop the first couple of months ? I'm. Currently three weeks post op just FYI !!

After Returning To Work I Find My Self Hungry More Often ?!?
krissy20 replied to krissy20's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks she actually posted a similar thread !!!! -
So crazy that y'all posted this cause I'm also a night nurse that recently returned to work last night I felt hungry more often but then again I'm not able to sit down and eat a meal so I'm constantly picking at my lunch throughout the whole shift and trying to get enough calories in cause I know how much I need them especially cause I'm constantly going for 12 hours . The dr said at my two week follow up that when your not getting enough fluids that your body will retain fluid so im sure that's why we tend to retain water cause we probably aren't getting enough fluids in cause I know as hard as I work even though I think I'm getting a sufficient amount of fluids as hard as we work we need double the amount that we usually get which is obviously easier said than done !!! I know that was a huge run on sentence but oh well haha :-) oh yeah and happy nurses week to my fellow nurses !!!

Dimple/hole/dip Incision On Stomach
krissy20 replied to pinky62611's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My biggest incision is on my right side and it is slightly indented like that also from where they sutured internally . This other lady I met at the dr office had the same thing but hers was really noticeable but she was also a lot larger than I was so maybe it will go away as we lose weight ?! -
I hear you girl !!! Every celebration there is always alcohol involved with my friends and family . This weekend my friend is having a house warming BBQ tomorrow evening of course with alcohol and next weekend my family and I are going out of town cause my little sister is graduating from college so I'm sure we will celebrate after with dinner and drinks . So I'm thinking to just have one drink at each event surely it won't be too bad. :-/ I went to church this past Sunday and went to communion and without thinking about it I accidentally took a pretty good sized drink of the wine it went down smooth but I did get a lil buzz a minute there in church but it didn't last too long haha !!!

Whats Everyones Vitamin Regimen ?
krissy20 replied to krissy20's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Omg I could tolerate the bariatric advantage while doing my preop diet but post op not no but hell no as soon as that Vitamin goes down my mouth starts watering and I have to use everything in my power to not vomit ugh so the dr told me to crush it and put it in my Protein shake so that's been working for me cause I'm determined to finish that big bottle since I paid for those darn bariatric advantage Vitamins haha!!! -

Whats Everyones Vitamin Regimen ?
krissy20 replied to krissy20's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok so pretty much everybody is just on a multivitamin is what I'm getting from yalls replies. All my vitamin levels were within normal limits when I had my blood drawn at the hospital except my calcium was a little low. I'm just so sick of taking all these vitamins ugh . I think the dr just gives us that vitamin regimen cause we buy them from bariatric advantage as a preop vitamin package prior to surgery what a waste of dinero :-p thanks everyone for the input :-) -
I've always been on the thicker side I was just recently sleeved on 4/11 and I would say so far it is definitely worth it I already feel a thousand times better :-) my main incentive was that I'm a single mother with an amazing 6 y/o little boy who for one i need to be around for him and for two I need to set a good example for him as well so that he is not overweight and unhealthy . My highest weight was 268 day if surgery I was 253 and today I'm 240 so in 5 weeks I've lost almost 30 lbs and I feel great I would definitely recommend getting the surgery if you have any other questions this is a great forum everybody is very helpful :-) good luck
