What Do You Want To Do When You Are Healthier?
Willow216 replied to Shape_Shifter's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would love to start taking photos with my family, I have been photo diving for years and unfortunately my kids are complaining that they won't remember what I look like when I'm not here. I promised them that once I get down to at least 160lbs I will take a studio photo. And yes, the amusement park sounds great! -
I take liquid B-12 complex and Centrum multi-vitamin. For whatever reason I happend to like the taste, most everyone I know doesn't, I can actually feel the Vitamins absorb quicker (at least I think I can..LOL) . BTW: Has anyone ever told you, (by your pic) you look like a skinny version of Kevin Smith (Actor, writer of Dogma, Chasing Amy, Jay and Silent Bob)? Take Care!

Most Humiliating Fat Moment
Willow216 replied to peacequeen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I cannot imagine what would possess a woman to do something like that, she must've been a real evil, spiteful, vindictive woman. No-one deserves that kind of treatment. The only story I have that for whatever reason really hurt me was when I was waiting for a train in NYC and a jersey shore looking dude with his pants hanging down around his behind practically shoved me out of the way and said "move over fatso" and proceeded to enter the train with his friends laughing. I couldn't get on the train cause I was literally in shock 'cause it totally came out of nowhere for no reason I guess he thought he looked pretty kool in front of his friends. I don't get upset very easily especially when it comes to strangers but that actually ruined my day. That experience, though, does not compare to yours, glad you shared and I hope the actions of that "old lady" still doesn't bother you. -
BigKim Who?? Thats not you! Congrats, You Look Fabulous!

Make that last meal Real Good! LOL I know I did.. Congrats on your news -
I have diet pepsi a couple of times of week since right after the first month, I'm 3.5 months post-op and my dietician stated the carbonation can cause discomfort if not taken slowly but it won't stretch out the sleeve.

Talked To The Nurse About Stretching Stomach By Drinking Too Fast
Willow216 replied to kamrie37's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you for the info. I've heard this before, but since we hear all sorts of different answers from different questions from all of our surgeons and dietician its good to hear confirmation on this question. Stretching the sleeve is a worry for alot of us. Enjoy your Summer! -
Maybe I Shouldn't Do This
Willow216 replied to NHJulie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also had my doubts, we all do, its losing a part of us we had and come to depend on all our lives, eating, its there when we're sad, happy, depressed, celebrating and bored. It was our "Friend" and he was always there. I always lost weight with dieting but the minute I felt comforatable I started eating again and would gain more than I had lost. Since I have had this surgery it has not been a "Chore" to lose weight and all the "not so good for you foods" I thought I couldn't live without I don't even want anymore, its VERY Free-ing. Take your time and consult with as many professionals as you can. My father also died of obesity at 55 yrs old he was 5'4" and 450lbs. That was my deciding vote that I had to tell myself to find a "new friend" to hang with. LOL Best Wishes to you! -
I think I'll give them a try today, just see if your right...LOL

Thank you for explaining.

Very, Very True! I have pretty much got the good eating habits down (I think) first Protein then Veggies (usually broccoli with a lil cheese) I have not wanted anything else (carbs) since before surgery, I have no taste for it. The one problem I do get it the "Grazing" thing going on I have been noticing that I will eat a little but all day long, its' weird, nothing thats not healthy, you know protein and stuff or icees, my stomach loves ice cold anything. I hope this urge stops soon.

We Got 'Em just recently. I haven't tried them yet though.

Uh Oh, Please, I have to ask "What is a A1C" cause I eat a couple of hershey kisses a few times a week and I really don't want to quit that, its all I got right now..LOL

Weird Sensation In Throat 1 Week Post Op...
Willow216 replied to SleeveNoob's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was going to say maybe it was the breathing tube during the surgery, my throat bothered for a couple of weeks after surgery dut to that, but if it is only when you eat, I don't know 'bout that, maybe you should consult with your surgeon. I hope it gets better for you! -
The first two week post op I was "detoxing" badly I wanted to eat everything but I coudn't cause my tummy was like "Hell No" (excuse the french) but after that first two weeks that went away and my taste have change tremendously, I have no taste for carbs like rice, potatoes, Pasta etc. (I wish I could say that about chocolate but you can't have everything, huh) So hang in there you'll see the changes really soon!

... And That Would Have Been Me...
Willow216 replied to kyllfalcon's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I look just like my father who was my height (just about) and he was 450lbs, he died at 55 yrs of age he had all sorts of issues due to obesity, Hypertension, Heart disease, Apnea etc, etc which of course killed him... He made a comment to me a few weeks before he died which was "I wasn't that heavy at your age" (he was speaking of my weight at the time) which I was about 202 and I was 32 yrs old. That threw me 'cause he was way bigger than me buy a couple of hundred pounds but he was 23 yrs old than me, so I knew where I was heading if I didn't do something about it. Of course I dieted and so on and so forth really hard but wound up gaining another 50lbs. Thank God my insurance covered my surgery or I would've been in Big Trouble! -
I got you beat....My daughter started Pastry school last January and she brings her work HOME...Dangit!! Truthfully most of the time it doesn't bother me (Thank God) but every once in a while I am so tempted to mug her at the friggin door! Oh crap lost my composure there for a sec, Sorry.. LOL We are all in this together right MKbalimath! So we shall overcome! (I am so damn preachy) Ha-Ha!

Chocolate, I have a couple of Hershey Kisses 3 or 4 x's a week. I had this surgery so I wouldn't have to give up on everything and compared on how I used to eat chocolate before surgery I'm doing GREAT! Isn't that why we all had this surgery so we still "on occasion" get to have a little of what we want? Except Brownies I can't touch them yet, I'm still too weak, Aww Man I want a Brownie, Damn I shouldn't have went there ...LOL

How Quick Did You Heal?
Willow216 replied to Rosie88's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery on a Wednesday and I could've returned to work by the next Monday. I felt fine after a few days (and Percocet) LOL... And I'm a great big cry baby when I don't feel well but I was good in a very short time. If you don't lift anything very heavy (I don't hike so I don't know what you will carry) you should be just fine after 4 wks.
