43 here and 4months post-op, hopefully by my 44th in Feb 2013 I will be able to get back into my old favorite Little Black Dress. Last time I wore it I was 22yrs old.

My only regret is that I didn't do this years ago. Sure I miss not being able to eat as much as I used to, but that was the whole point of me being overweight. After 4 months since surgery I have gotten used to eating 3 to 4 bites and laying down the fork and I can't remember when I could go for second and third helpings. Its life changing and you have to get used to new habits but it is all for the Best!

Stealing this one! (hope you don't mind) LOL And your husband is sooo correct the Food Network should be re-named "Food Porn"! I love that channel.

3 Cheers for all who have finally gotten to "Onederland" and for those who are on their way! Life is Too Dang Good! :D
-
After the first two months I had the issue of spitting up if I accidently took more bites than I should or if I ate something that my sleeve wouldn't take so I always kept a lidded disposable coffee cup in my desk just in case, I work in a cubicle so no-one noticed, it sounds gross but after your sleeved sometimes you forget you can't eat the same things or amounts like you used to. Some foods go down easy some came back up (for me) depending on what it was.

Congrats Beecharmer, Isn't it Awesome!! After 4 1/2 months post surgery I finally got to "Onederland" on July 29th, haven't been under 200 in over 10 years. Feels So Good!

Hey Ladies... A Few Personal Questions
Willow216 replied to myownjourney's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If it was me I would say "your my best friend and I love you but I need to do what I think is best for me and my health and if you are my friend please give me your support, you are not in my shoes and probably never will be and I need you to be there for me whether you agree or not, because I would do the same for you". People who are naturally thin have no clue on the battle of obesity, to them its easy to eat, work out, etc. while for us it is a struggle and thats okay, but she should know what a friend is for and if this is what you want she should be like, I don't agree with this surgery but I'm going to be here for you and help you through it. As far as the excess skin, you are very young and most of it could more than likely snap back for you but if thats not the case, worry about it later, right now get yourself healthy and worry about all that other stuff later there is always time for tummy tucks and breast lifts, this is way too much on your plate right now. I'm a bit older than you (actually your half my age) and I had a belly before and I have lost a lot of it and I have a bit of skin, that is why I am saving my credit card for...LOL Once I lose the weight I'll charge it, it might take me 5 years to pay it back but it will be worth it. I wish you all the Best and keep us posted! -
Tired Of Waiting......taking A Break From Site...i Think.
Willow216 commented on Gijane2012's blog entry in Gijane2012's Blog
Ditto to Dooter, I felt the same as both of you. I worried 'bout the pain and all of the changes but I was already having pain with the weight so I did my pros and cons and the surgery won out and I only experienced a bit of pain the first day, its been pretty smooth since. But your right, if you feel like you need a break then you need a break! Its very easy to get confused and freaked out with all of the different stories. Best Wishes To You and Take it Easy!!! -
You Go Girl Your Rockin That Sleeve!! Your doing Soo Well!

Has Any One Lost Too Much And Cant Stop, Too Thin?
Willow216 replied to eglight's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wish I had this problem.. Being too thin has never been a problem I have had, I wouldn't mind trying it for a while. LOL (Not disrespecting the people who do have this problem) My brother has a too thin problem and he is 5ft 6inches and 145lbs and he's 45 yrs old and he doesn't look older than 20. he eats like a Sumo Wrestler but can't gain an ounce. I Adore and Love him to death but I want to smack him everytime I see him with a Big Mac in his face! LOL -
Never though of mixing with the chocolate silk milk. Great Idea Thanx!

Learn To Take A Compliment Already!
Willow216 replied to mommymar's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OMG I have the same problem and I was just thinking about this very issue.. I don't know how to react when people constantly say "Wow your looking incredible" , I'm another one who is used to hiding in the background, its not that I don't appreciate it because I do but I have a problem responding to it just saying thank you all the time just sounds repititous. The good thing is eventually it will stop once the next big change happens with someone else at the office. -
Your insurance might for the tummy tuck? Fantastic for you! I never heard of that but that is so wonderful for you, go for it and keep us updated, you are doing soo well!

I use Isopure zero carb Dutch Chocolate or Cookies and Cream and them both taste yummy! 50grms of protein 2 scoops and 2 cups of Milk Plus altogether gives me my 72 grams of protein. This is the best protein I have found (I've tried alot) but I have to order it from Supplement Warehouse.com but they are not too expensive and they give me a free shaker every time I order so Its the cheaper way for me.

Omg Have You Seen The Bills Sent To The Insurance Company.
Willow216 replied to TinkerToyz's topic in Insurance & Financing
I will research but I know this is done all the time, actually on workers' comp cases when clmt's settle out and close their case if they still need to further their medical care they are allowed to pay workers' comp fee schedule and not the full cost of what the providers bill them. I will get back to you. -
Omg Have You Seen The Bills Sent To The Insurance Company.
Willow216 replied to TinkerToyz's topic in Insurance & Financing
I work for Workers Comp insurance as a case manager and I pay medical/hospital billing and the hospital can bill whatever they like but there is a fee schedule for every medical procedure there is and that is what they actually get paid they never get paid what they bill, in fact a self paying patient can demand that they pay as per Medicaid fee schedule and the hospital has to accept it. -
2 Years Post Op Have Gained 8 Pds Back And Scared
Willow216 replied to mayleeone's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Maybe you should see a dietician to help you get back on track without getting too small (skinny). You are already winning the battle since you are recognizing what your doing wrong. Don't worry just try and focus a bit you'll get right back on track! -
Ha-Ha I spoke too soon I have been stalled ever since I wrote this, I jinxed myself.. Oh Well I'm not on the slow train anymore I'm on the stuck train stranded in the Black Tunnel between stops..LOL Gotta Laugh!

I wish I could but I get stage fright and no-one wants to watch me studder while I try to explain my weight loss journey. LOL I haven't even put any before pics on this site because I never took pics while I was huge, all I got is my work I.D. and when I lose the rest of my weight I will post it for a Before N After. If you got a video on youtube I will look for it, youtube was one of the main encouragement to pursue weight loss surgery. You Go Girl!

Denied .. Due To A Clause By The Company I Work For
Willow216 replied to mel2643's topic in Insurance & Financing
The only way you will fail is if you give up. Everything happens for a reason, wait the xtra 3 months by next year you will be sooo glad you did. Many Blessings to you!! -
Most definately You Can Do This! My surgeons nurse lost over 250lbs in just about under 2 years after her sleeve, she is the one who convinced me not to get the Lap Band and to get the Sleeve instead. She looks Fantastic and doesn't closely resemble her pic at 300lbs. It won't happen over night but with diligence you can do this!
