I totally agree with you!! Until I started this process, I thought I was the only one struggling and everybody else was getting it together. Now, I realize that so many people in my hometown and so many celebrities have had WLS!

I'm single and met a handsome man in another city. We chat on the phone and communicate electronically a lot. I know he likes me, but I want him to go wild for me! I hadn't seen him since May. Hopefully, surgery will be in August. Although I won't be at goal by then, I can't wait to attend our favorite football game in November in some skinny jeans and some stop the world high heel shoes!!

Ask the surgeon's office for what they sent to the ins, plus copy of confirmation.

Thanks, Ebonisekim! Yes, I'm excited too. The paperwork was submitted at the end of June. I was really getting frustrated and had even made plans to have the procedure in Mexico, if I was denied. One day I called the ins company and the nurse basically told me this was a very long process and that the decision could take some time. I was really upset and in my mind said forget it. Well, out of the blue, om July 3, my surgeon's office called and said I was approved! Because I'm a believer, I know it was just the Lord working it out and confirming that I had made the right choice for my health. My pre op visit is next Wed and the coordinator says there are still open surgery dates for August, so I am hoping for an early Aug date. My birthday is Aug 5 and at this point, I'll take that! Hang in there! I know the waiting is hard, but it's true what everybody says - use this time to develop new eating habits and make peace with the food demons in your life. Also, try to lose some weight. I haven't done that very well. It will work out for you too. Keep the faith!

I don't have Aetna, but was told that my insurance follows the same criteria as Aetna. I was approved 2 weeks after paperwork was submitted.

My pre-op appt with the surgeon is July 25. It can't get here fast enough! I am hoping for an August surgery date. My birthday is August 5. At this point, I would have surgery on my birthday, if that's all they had. I'm just anxious to get this done!
