Ok, ladies, I have been banded since March 6 and I am still on liquids. I see my surgeon on the 21st for follow up and not sure if she is going to do a fill then or if I have to wait a while longer. I would love to be able to do pureed foods but she specifically told me to do liquids only. I agree it is hard to get the Protein in and let me tell you I am getting really tired of the Protein shakes but will continue to forge forward as this journey is so worth it. Good luck to the both of you.

I was banded on 3/06 and it is awesome with the exception of the left shoulder pain. I am still very glad that I started this journey. Down 14lbs since surgery and 28 with pre-op. you are going to do awesome. Good luck
-
I am so glad that it is over for you and very proud of you for going through with it. Prayers that you will start feeling much better soon. I was banded on March 6th and am doing really good with the exception of the left shoulder pain which I don't believe is gas anymore. It feels more like nerve pain

Ladies I was right there with you just the day before my surgery. That is when reality set in and I was thinking, if I just continue to diet like this then I will be fine but the problem is I wouldn't. I have done nothing but liquids in 3 weeks pre-op and post op because I have had too but if I didn't have too, no way would I be doing this. We all have those nagging moments but those too shall pass. This is definately a new journey and one I can say that I am glad I took. Good luck to the both of you. You are going to do awesome

Lannae, I was banded on the 6th of this month. I am down 14lbs post op and 28 with pre-op. I am quite happy. Not having really anymore surgical pain but pain in my left shoulder and I don't believe it is from gas. I don't feel gassy,it feels more like nerve now and can't understand why
-
sunflower, how are you doing today?

Whoo hoo, down 13lbs today and it has been a week since sugery. I go for my post op on 03/21.

Tammyjo85 you are going to do awesome. Good luck, will be thinking of you. -
My left shoulder was hurting all night last night from the gas, couldn't hardly sleep. Sorry, I know you are hurting and wish there was an answer. May try applying some heat or warmth from a towel, like we use to do for our baby's when they had gas on their bellys

School Is Stressful, Weight Loss Is What It Is!
Karla0306 commented on Tanya_cotto's blog entry in Dig It Dog
Oh, ladies, I am so glad to hear someone else say what I have been thinking. Nursing classes start up for me next Monday and I will be 13 days post op. I have so much to study but can't seem to concentrate and I am afraid of failing. I hate this part of my life but I want to be a nurse so bad. Good luck ladies and prayers for you both -
You are doing awesome. I had lost 14lbs preop diet and post op 11lbs. I agree with you on how crazy the physician requirements are differing. Kind of interesting to see the difference.
-
YOU ROCK!!! It is amazing the difference in physician requirements for pre and post banding.

MadisonPA, you are at 40 BMI now then your insurance will probably approve you. I know my insurance required records to show where I had attempted weight loss and failed because of regaining plus some and a 3 month follow up with PT, Dietary, Psych and my surgeon but was approved. I promise you my documentation wasn't the best because alot of stuff I tried on my own, but I did inform my PCP about it and it was approved the first go round, I have had my surgery and am loving it. Try not to stress, it will work out in the end.
-
Chin up, this is all a challange, rather you had to do the 3 months of psych, PT, dietary consults or the 6 month dietary follow up. We all have had our moments and thoughts that the day would never get here, but it does. I agree with the girls, go get a pedi or a manicure, feel good about yourself. Tomorrow is a new day. Get up, start refreshed and set your mind to it. You can do this, you have gotten this far

Not Losing Weight : /
Karla0306 replied to bandedgorJESS's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Sorry bandedgorJess, not having this problem but I am only 6 days post op. I have lost 11lbs so far. Have you looked at what and how much you are eating, when was your last fill, maybe time for another -
Jessc1984, it is almost here. So excited for you. I couldn't wait to get banded and now that I have, I can't imagine not doing it. It was one of the best decisions that I have ever made. I have lost 11lbs since surgery 6 days ago and 25 lbs since starting my pre-op diet on 2/21.
-
Kristih, you will get through this. Pre-op diet was a struggle for me the first 3-4 days and then I was ok. I think I have a harder time after being banded for 6 days than I did before. I have had some cravings, but I ignore them, have some Water, Protein shake and find something else like studying to occupy my mind. You are going to do Great!!
-
Good luck Ladybug tomorrow. You are doing to do AWESOME!!!
-
It will pass, I am feeling better but still have the left shoulder pain but not near as often as it was. I am down 11 lbs post surgery in 7 days 25 since starting pre op. We will get through this, we will. Keep your chin up
-
I had my lap band surgery on 03/06/2012 and have lost 8 lbs since having the surgery. My goal is to be down to 145lbs. My presurgical, prediet wt was 268lbs and I am down to 249.
-
I agree the gas pains have gotten better though I still have some of the shoulder pain. I am feeling pretty good for the most part, still sore and can't sleep on my left side. I am a side sleeper so my sleeping isn't the best yet but hopefully with each new day, it will get better and I can again sleep on my left side. Hope and pray you continue to improve.
-
I really hope the shoulder pain doesn't last for weeks. ugh. I also struggle getting in the proper amount of protein in each day, not so much fluids because I can handle that but drinking the protien shakes only 30 cc every 30 min which could make it last all day long...literally. For some reason I also have been craving chewable food really bad. I thought I was over that hump but I guess not

Tinarl73, after surgery you will not be able to drink out of a straw ever again or at least that is what my surgeon has told me. Do you have a surgery date scheduled
