    Hey U Guys!!!!march Bandsters....

Ladies, the only thing I can say is that I have learned to listen to my body. I eat slow, and when I know longer feel hungry I stop eating. I also do not get a large plate, when I eat with my family I use a small plate, like that of a saucer really. I only allow my self to have a table spoon of sides and a piece of meat that is the size of my hand. I use the myfitnesspal on my iphone to track my Protein, sugar, calories and carbs along with my exercise activity. This really seems to help alot. Just today I go the ok to lift and do whatever excersises I wanted which is great because my husband is wanting to start playing rackett ball at one of the local gyms and I can't wait. You ladies are doing awesome don't get discouraged but listen to your body and don't eat the things that you have been instructed not to eat my your dietician, no breads, rice, oatmeal, corn or drink carbinated beverages or caffeine...etc, etc.

    Hey U Guys!!!!march Bandsters....

I was banded on 03/06. I had my first fill of 2 CC's on 4/04. I am just now getting back to where I can eat salads because of not being able to get the lettuce down. I am down total of 43 lbs and quite excited. I go back on 05/02 for another fill and hopefully she will tell me I can increase my exercising. So far just walking is all she wants me to do.

    Any Nurses Here?

Hello, I am a medical assistant in nursing school. I was banded on 03/06/2012 and have to say it was one of the best decisions ever. Would do it again if I had the chance to do it over. Good luck.

    March Bandsters!

Thank you so much. I had my fill on 4/4 which was great and still can't eat much but the srugeon wasn't happy that I am not eating 1200 calories. I have started tracking my intake and can at times barely get 500 calories in

    March Bandsters!

I felt the same way after going back to work. I have a desk job and the position I was sitting in would cause my incisions to be extra sensitive. Walking every so often seemed to help me.
  8. It has been a bit since I have been on. I have started back to nursing school, working part time so my schedule is pretty busy. I go for my first fill tomorrow and can't wait to see what it brings. I don't eat alot now so I am not real sure how much this restriction is going to restrict me. I mean I probably don't even get in 500 calories a day right now as it is. Hope everyone is doing well who has been banded and for those that the ban is coming up.Good luck

What A Strange Thing To Miss....

I have been banded for a month now or right at. I have gone out to eat with my husband and kids twice. Each time it was a buffet but, I ordered a kids breakfast of one egg (which I took maybe 5 small bites out of and was done) the second time (another buffet) I ordered a single serving of mash potatoes, took probably 3-5 bites and was done. I have done really well not over eating. I have amazingly learned to listen to my body tell me when I am full. I only wish now I was losing again, but I am only a month out

    March Bandsters!

I was banded on 03/06/2012, went for my post op two weeks ago and have my first fill on 04/04/12. I still don't eat much, but I do eat right. I am down 33lbs total and can't wait to see what my fill is going to do.

I Dont Feel Bad And You Are Wasting Your Own Time!

If people are saying things about you then they aren't friends anyway and who needs friends like that. You are right those that are close to you are the only ones that matter. My sister has a saying that I just love. " If they (people) aren't your direct food chain then they don't matter" Don't let yourself get down because they are jealous of you and don't know the real you. You don't have to explain yourself to others if you don't want to and if you do then you will. I have had some awesome support from my family, at least again the ones that matter, some friends and some co workers but others not so much and that is ok because they don't live my life and I have made the best decision for me and my family. Keep your chin up, you are doing great.
  12. I am almost 2 weeks post op. See my surgeon on Wednesday for my post op visit and I am down 32lbs but that includes pre-op diet. I am down 18lbs since surgery on 3/06. Still having a hard time getting the protein shakes down but I should be able to start eating pureed foods this week ;)

    Finally Days....

Mizpk83, I have been married for 19 yrs in June and with my husband for 21 years. He has asked me the same thing and actually said that " i will get skinny, get my nursing license and leave him for somone with more money" It is definately an insecurity for them but you just have to tell them again how much you love them and that if you didn't leave before then what would change that would cause you to leave afterwards. Your significant other will get through this as my husband has. We love our men for who they are, not for what we look like . Good luck I am sure that you will do great!

  15. Ok, ladies and gentlemen. I am almost two weeks postop, I do not see my surgeon until Wednesday of next week and can't hardly get a protein shake down. It makes me want to hurl....literally. Any suggestions

    March Bandsters!

Wow, my surgeon didn't want me going back for two full weeks, I go back on Thursday of next week as my post op isn't til Wednesday. My surgeon glued my incisions but they still itch but it is getting better. I am so ready for mushie foods but was told to do liquids for a complete two weeks. I am having a hard time getting down the protein shakes and not sure what I can do about it. I agree with you on the standing and hope and pray that you can get through your shift on Sunday.

    March Bandsters!

Brandi18 welcome!!! I was banded on 6th of March and I am so ready for even the mushi foods. You are going to do great

    March Bandsters!

Paul sounds like you are doing great. Don't worry about stepping on the scale every day. I have had to learn this. I am 9 days post op and I have had to realize that I can not step on the scale everyday as the wt will eventually plateau and of course it has but I am not taking in probably 500 calories a day and my body has gotten use to it. I will tell you I can't wait to get to mushie foods as people call it. Can't hardly get a shake down anymore. Liquids for 3 1/2 weeks. I really am about done with them. Getting extremely had to swallow. You are going to do great though. Keep your chin up

    March Bandsters!

Good luck ladies on banding tomorrow. The liquid diet is probably the hardest. I am a little more than 1 week post op and have been on a liquid diet now for more than 3 weeks. I can at this point hardly get down a protein shake. I feel like I am starving myself because I feel if I drink one more shake, I will literally puke and that is not good. So right now it is jello even though it doesn't have protein. You ladies really will do great, hang in there

    Six Months And Still Loosing

You hit the nail on the head. I believe you are right we have all been through this at least once and I have had the same questions asked to me that you listed. They just don't understand and sometimes my husband didn't either but I believe he is beginning to see that I didn't do this for him or because I didn't think he loved me, I know he does. This is the man that I married when I was 17 at 155lbs and now I am over 200. He has seen in the best and worst times, I never once doubted that he loved me but in order for me to feel better about myself and to be able to live my life to the fullest. I had to do this.

    March Bandsters!

Lannae, thank you for info. I figured that the first few days with shoulder pain was due to gas but I am just not sure about this anymore. It is more like a nerve pain, hurts constantly not intermittant. I will see the surgeon next Wednesday and we will see what she says.

    March Bandsters!

So glad to hear that today is a better day and you will find with each day that passes it will get easier and better.
  24. CONGRATULATIONS!!! I was banded on 3/06/2012 and can say it was definately the best decision ever. I have lost 14lbs since surgery and 28 pre-op to present. I already feel so much better and love hearing how much better I look. It is really a nice feeling. I pray and hope that in a year I can say that I am down to my wt goal or at least 100lbs down. Thanks for the tips and encouragement.

    March Bandsters!

Yvonne74 don't listen to what people say, there is always a negative or a positive word spoken. If this is what you want to do then do it. Only you can measure your success and if you have your heart and mind set on it then you can achieve it. You are going to do great. Keep your chin up. Always here for support
