Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?
findingmyself replied to JimmyGotSLEEVED's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So happy to hear of all the successes! I was sleeved 4-24. Lost 32 lbs to date but I have been pretty sick. Lots of vomiting. They finally pinned it down. I have a hyperactive gallbladder. It is rare and most doctors do not find it. Mine dumps bile too fast and is making me sick. My WL surgeon is amazing! He found it and I am having surgery on Wednesday. Not thrilled about another surgery slowing down my new found love of working out but I am looking forward to feeling better! I did hit 189 this week so while my loss is slow and I am uncomfortable, I am so incredibly happy and Blessed. If anyone else is vomiting frequently and as soon as food hits the stomach look into it. -
Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?

The Queen of Stalls made it to Onderland!!!!! May I have a cheer? So excited! I made it yesterday but the ever positive girl here woke up with some serious vinegar that lasted all day. Even had a rough nite sleeping. I am guessing hormones although I am post menopausal (sorry guys for TMI).. Is anyone else finding a grouchy bug that shows up when your weight goes down? I would seriously like to exterminate it. Made my way into L shirts from a 2x (5 inches gone from my chest) go figure. Now I want the w off my pants! Sleeved 4-24 down 24 lbs. Best wishes to all of you! -

8 weeks today and I am enjoying the beach with my daughter on our girls trip! Just finished bronzed grouper. Eating has been rocky but I love my sleeve. I'm a slow loser. When I left town I was down 22 lbs and sitting at 200.0 hoping for onderland when I get home! So happy! Best wishes to all the April sleevers! -

Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?

4/24 sleever. I met with my doctor, therapist and trainer this week. Trainer today actually. Feels great to our weight lifting into my exercise regimen. I have been on a 3 1/2 week stall. All three had the same message for me. Increase my calories to 1200 (currently 800), eat protein first and get my water in. I exercise plenty just need to eat and drink. Funny. Seems to be the exact opposite than before. I used to eat plenty and skip exercising. The irony makes me chuckle. Best wishes to all the April sleevers! Keep on keeping on. -
Pain In Hiatal Hernia Repair Area
findingmyself posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on 4-24 and also had a hiatal hernia repair. My sleeve has been extremely smooth and no pain. I stopped pan meds two days after I got out of the hospital. Since the surgery the pain has been in my hernia repair area. I shared this with my dr. at my 2 wk follow-up and shared that puréed food was extremely uncomfortable going down. We decided to keep an eye on it. The day after the pain got so bad that I couldn't wear my bra anymore. It put too much pressure on the sore area. I called today and am scheduled for another swallow test first thing Monday. I was just curious if anyone else has experienced this and has any advice. Thanks! -

I was sleeved on 4/24. I lost 13 lbs my first week and I have been on a stale for 3 weeks. I had my one month follow-up and I am eating soft foods. I had my husband hide my scale. The numbers were too frustrating. I do get excited every time I get dressed because my clothes fit better. So for now the devil (my scale) is in hiding and I am going to stick to measuring once a month and my clothes. My next weigh-in will be at the end of July. I hope this helps with the dumb head games and ugly relationship I have with my scale. Thanks to those of you that have put up your posts about stalls. It helps to confirm that I am on the right track. Have a great Memorial Day weekend everyone! -
Did Anyone Self Pay In The Us?

16k in Nebraska. Did not include pre-op but does include insurance if anything goes wrong. My health insurance policy does not cover bariatric surgery. -
Jimmy, I have been thinking about you and sending prayers your way!

Post Op Day 4- Hungry And Depressed
findingmyself replied to MamaT's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a 4/24 sleeved too! 46 and mom of two hungry teenager athletes. I could use some support buddies. I purchased unjury chicken protein powder online. It was reasonable and tastes good. I have had two today adding 16 oz of water and 42 grams of protein. I sip slowly and it takes an hour but it has been very helpful. I am finding an odd joy in cooking for my kids. They enjoy my cooking so much. It allows me to interact with them and food in a "normal" way while I sip away. -
I am two days post-op and dealing with very uncomfortable has pins too. Good luck to you! We will get through this soon!

April 24th and new to forums! Would like to connect with my new April buddies. -
Here's to my first post! I am so excited for surgery on Tuesday. I started my pre-op diet on Easter and have a clear liquid diet the day before. I am struggling with hunger. Any tips for the clear liquid diet day? Would love to chat with others going through this process at about the same time and always appreciate the wisdom of our experienced sleevers. Thanks!
