    Insanity workout

It took me closer to 10-12 weeks to feel normal working out with my abs. At 8 weeks I started very lightly but was a little scared and waited longer.
  2. 10/15 285 Today 244 Down 41 pounds!!!! This was the best decision ever!!! Anyone dealing with the emotions from overeating?? I am struggling with it but learning how to process and deal with it now.
  3. My doctor's office sent all of the information to my insurance company. I did call the insurance to verify it was received and daily check ups to find out if I had been approved yet. My family wasn't sure about me having surgery either, especially my husband. Now three months later and 40+ pounds down, my family and especially husband are glad that I had the surgery. I am 36 with a 3 year old and didn't want her to see me die. The emotional part of missing food is where I am at right now. Its tough but part of the journey. I will get a craving for a certain food, then cook it. By the time I sit down and have one or two bites I am done. I realize it wasn't something I needed or wanted. One of the best parts of VSG for me is not feeling hungry. With the sleeve we have alot less problems than RNY. I had a perfect surgery, recovery and never threw up or anything bad along the way. I am surprised at how easy this has been. Now I am learning how to deal with the emotional aspects of why I overate.

    Glue on your cuts...

Mine started coming off at 10-14 days. Some were kinds gross from clothes against them. If they were hanging I would take it off, when my incision was healed.
  5. What is your progress so far? I am down to 249 pounds from 285. I have recently been struggling with head hunger alot. Some of it is all of the holiday treats at the office and boredom. I find that i have to really stop and remember to chew slowly. I have began at the gym and am amazed at bow great it feels to go.

    Dehydration

What were your signs that you were dehydrated? I have had a cold and haven't kept my fluids up like normal. I am having really bad headaches and mild nausea. I just called my surgeons office and am waiting for a call back.
  9. I had my open enrollment meeting at work today. They are no longer covering bariatric surgery under our health insurance plan effective January 1. I was going to wait until next year for my sleeve, I am so thankful I didn't!!! I am loving my new tummy!!

    Postop Drain?

I had a drain until 1 week post op. I think alot of people have had drains. It isn't painful but just a little uncomfortable and in the way. Removing the drain for me wasn't painful, it just felt a little weird. It was a relief to have it out and the discomfort instantly went away. Of course I didn't look at them pulling it out or I would have freaked out!

What are your NSV that you have had so far?? I have went down one pants size and am wearing shirts that I haven't worn in over 5 years. I feel like I have a new wardrobe. Another NSV it feels great is being able to stand for the entire time during the worship part of church. For the last year I have struggled to stand for periods of time due to pain in my back from my weight. My back pain is pretty much gone!!! I am so thankful for my sleeve.

I use small bowls that are 4oz. I am amazed now when I see others eating at how large their portions are. I can't believe how much I used to eat--all the time.

Sounds like a good plan. Are you having any trouble with any foods? So far the new foods I have added haven't given me any problems. I kept hearing about everyone's stomach gurgling, mine now does it with soft foods, especially meats.

    3 Weeks Post Op

I am three weeks out and starting on soft foods. I am having the normal soft high protein foods as everyone else. Tuna, refried beans, and cottage cheese are my staples. I am having "normal" food for dinner with my family. I just eat the protein basically and maybe a bit or two of a soft veggie.
  20. Two pretzels is much better than a bag. We are all leaning new ways of eating. I am not perfect and make mistakes along the way too.

Head Challenge! 15 Days Post Op

I am glad that you are moving past the pain medications. I think we each go though a rough patch. I know last weekend was tough for me. It is hard getting back into the swing of things at work. I work 10 hour shifts and I nap for about an hour when I get home. This is a complete lifestyle change and it doesn't happen overnight. I catch myself grabbing a bag of chips and heading to the couch without realizing what I am doing. I am not perfect and have eaten a cookie. I really didn't like it but just the feeling from eating it. Try to get back on track if at all possible. Does your doctor have support groups that you could go to? Keep coming bake here for support. You can do this!
