I have anthem health keepers thru my employer and it took 5 days from the date of my first appointment with the surgeon. I only had to bring a letter of referral from my PCP. It took a few months after the approval to get the surgery because I had to have the psych evaluation and 3 visits with the nutritionist. Good luck!

Have any of you cooked in the Tupperware vent and serve containers? I recently attended a Tupperware party and purchased this product. I have had trouble with meat the last few months. I was skeptical at first, but after cooking in it I'm amazed. I have cooked chicken, meatloaf, turkey burgers, venison, shrimp, fish, eggs, veggies and some diet friendly desserts. Everything is extremely moist. It also cooks most meat in 2-3 minutes. I'm not a Tupperware rep...just and extremely happy customer passing on a tip. Have a great evening!

There are several threads posted about phentermine...I believe that's the same drug. You may want to take a look at those. Quite a few people discussed there experience with it. My doctor put me on it a few months ago and I stopped taking it after the first month. My hair started falling out in clumps. It scared me to death! Good luck...I hope you have better results.

I had the lapband done 3/1/2012. It was the best thing I ever did. Richmond isn't too bad. We don't have a mall or any good clothing stores here in Montross, so I use the days I travel to the lapband dr as a retail therapy trip lol.

My surgeon is in Richmond. It's about an hour and a half away, but I only have to go in twice a year now so it's not too bad.

I'm in Va...but not very close to you. I live in the Northern Neck area. Ever heard of it?

What part of Virginia is your plastic surgeon in?

Experiences with Phentermine?
AnnetteT replied to RellaBelle's topic in GLP-1 & Other Weight Loss Medications (NEW!)
My band doctor put me on phentermine when I couldn't seem to break a plateau. It gave me energy, but it made my hair fall out in clumps. I stopped taking it as soon as I realized that was the cause, but it took a good month for the hair loss to stop. My BP is also much lower now that I'm no longer taking it. -
I will definitely try that. In the summer I'm pretty tight until mid day. I get low blood sugar If I don't have a shake or yogurt after I exercise. I'll be glad when the humidity is gone so I can go back to my healthy omelets.

I've never heard of that but it's definitely worth checking into. Thank you for the idea!

Thank you! I love almond milk, but I will try the Coconut milk too. Hopefully I can find a protein powder that will fit into my new dietary restrictions. I have an appointment with the nut in August. Maybe she will be able to give me some ideas.

I had allergy tests this week. Soy was my highest reaction. They also found I'm allergic to chocolate, cinnamon, garlic, mustard, cows milk, coffee, shrimp, among other things. I've adjusted my meals to omit these foods, but I need ideas for a shake or protein drink I can have for breakfast. Any ideas of non soy/non dairy powders that taste good? Thanks for reading!

There's also a great thread on here about carb cycling. It has tons of great info from several lap band members that used it to break a plateau.
