    Texas Where You At???

Austin! Banded tuesday by true results dr Esquivil. Hard recovery but feeling good.
  2. I am 6 days out and i could not have done it. I usually push myself way harder than the dr but this proceedure took it out of me. I had to nap often and I have felt pretty bad. A long car ride would sound like hell to me today. Make your plans very flexible with frequent naps as an option.
  3. I felt absolutely miserable for the surgery day and the day after and a SLoW progression to better every day since. I am so surprised you did not get anti nauseous medicine! If there is a on call number I would call it! Day three is much better!
  4. Yes , my grandma decided two days after my surgery to call all the family and tell them to watch the 20/20 special that ran last night bc people are dying from lap band and it could be me and I could be leaving my kids behind. Mind you, she waited till after the proceedure was done to say a word! I was and still am pussed off! There is a bigger risk of dying by car wreck, domestic violence, or any other risk. Doesn't Mean we don't get married, or drive cars.... I totally feel your pain!
  5. I am day five and got sick today due to my dehydration. I had to not take pain mess and stay awake just to force fluid. I think it will get better for us in a day or two!

    Um, About That Gas...

The gas you get after surgery is the air they fill you with to do the proceedure. It gets stuck and hurts but doesn't make sound. My intestines got going two days after and gas x worked for it. None of it was real loud for me. Best wishes

    Just Banded

Congrats! I was banded Tuesday and felt terrible Tuesday and Wednesday but better Friday. Best wishes! Drink water even if you don't want to. I didnt bc I didnt want anything but I got to dehydrated!
  8. Lap band was worse Than my two c-sections and my galbladdder removal. I needed more help and the pain was intense for two days. Today is day is day four and I don't need medicine. So it is fast recovery.
  9. World News Tonight is found a show on how horrible lap bands are and how many people have suffered. This comes three days after my proceedure and all my family feels compelled to tell me about it. I have heard it is about the smaller band used more often in the beginning. But either way I am not watching it. I did all my research, made my choice, and here I am. What the hell do they expect me to do, run out and have it removed! I wish I didn't have to tell anyone. However, to all of you who have told people, watch out tommorow. Everyone will have to tell you about this story! Thanks for letting me vent!
  10. I thought the same. I had two c-sections and a liposcopic gallbladder removal. The band was the worse of all three. Day one and two was horrible. I am at day three and much better. I went into it thinking it was going to be super easy but I was so wrong. The day of surgery was really bad. Unlike with a c-section, this pain is ongoing. But like I said, day three is MUCH better. Best wishes!
  11. My Dr said up to a glass of wine a night! I was surprised but happy! I won't drink that often but will partake every once in a while!
  12. Good luck! Mine was yesterday. The home made broth was a good choice. I have only been able To get 1/2 a shake down and 1/2 a cup of broth all day! Pain is worst that I thought for sure but I am excited about my journey. While you still can, drink Water. You won't be. Able to do much to stay hydrated afterwards. Best wishes!
  13. My dr told me I could lift my two year old if she was under 30 lbs and after the first three days. I am on day two post op an there is no way I can lift her. I am in way too much pain.
  14. Am in the pre opt waiting for the procedure! I so scared now and did not think I would be. Starting a new way to live is scary!

21, Liquor, and a Lap Band

Just don't drink so much you start to vomit. Vomiting can cause band slipping and swelling. Happy 21st!

    Exploring Lap Band

Not sure if someone told you this but you should pick a surgeon close enough to you to travel frequently for fills. Other surgeons will not do it for bands they did not install and aist everyone won't touch a band done in Mexico. Best luck!

    May Bandsters!

I cannot beleive it but I am less than 24 hours way from surgery (12:00 tommorow). I am excited and nervous. I am more nervous about the learning curve after the proceedure for my new life. But I am a good rule follower so since there are band rules, I plan to follow. I lost 9 on pre - opt (low carb) and I am hoping it does not all come back once I have carbs again. ALthough I plan to eat very little carbs. However, the post opt smushies are mostly carb. I cannot wait to be a banded girl and start my new life. Thanks for listening! Best luck to other May bansters and any other 5/8 peeps!

    Time Off Work! Help Please!

I have been told by my surgeon that people have returned to work the next day. He said they would likely be miserable but he said as soon as I can go without pain meds I can go to work. He also stated he felt everyone should be back to work in 5 days. He said laying around at home delays healing and to get moving so you get feeling better. I have surgery tommorow (5/8) which is a Tuesday and I will return to work Monday. That is my choice.
