I had mine done on April 30'th as well, feel free to chat when ever you feel the need. -
I have found that I tend to stay a bit cooler than I used to. at least in the house with the A/C running. we can keep it a couple degrees warmer than we used to. as far as working outside in the heat goes, I would be careful, you'll be loosing a bunch of weight and have limited intake capacity. you will likely feel tired easier and maybe even get a bit light headed when you have to bend over for a little bit then stand upright. it's happended to me a few times lately. also, don't forget that you won't be able to Chug water like you used to. you will need to carry a bottle around with you and keep sipping it all day. do yourself a favor and drink lots of water, the combination of eating LOTS of protien and sweating alot tends to constipate you quite easily, I take a couple of over the counter stool softeners every morning just to keep things moving like they should. trust me, you don't want to get "locked up", that's the most miserable feeling and you can do some damage to your "parts" when you have to clear that blockage.

Only took about two months start to finish, could have been sooner but the scheduler messed up and delayed it about three weeks.

Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?
Helo-Tech replied to JimmyGotSLEEVED's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey everyone, it's been a while since I posted on here but I'm still around. I've been walking about 2 miles a day on most days, sometimes I skip the walking thing when I've done alot of walking throughout the day. the scale has been bouncing around alot, kind of like two steps forward and one step back type of thing, I'm loosing overall though. one thing I've found is that if I eat anything with too much salt in it on one day, I can guarantee you I'll be up a couple pounds the next day, then if I'm carefull with the salt intake that two pounds and a couple more come back off. I have also experianced some changes in my tastes, I cannot tolerate sour cream any more, used to love it now it makes me sick. also, pre-op I had gotten used to making shakes with Whey protien powder, now they make me sick. I've been getting my protien on one kind of shake and then eating lots of tuna and chicken. I'm going to see the NUT this morning so that will be interesting, of all the people I have who are helping me, I like her the least, I think she used to teach pre-schoolers and it carries over to how she deals with adults, drives me insane. Keep on loosing, Helo-Tech -

here's a couple facts about men that most women don't know or understand. 1). men don't "do subtle", if you need something or want something, just ask. most men don't pick up on the "little hints" that you women like to toss around, it's not in our D.N.A. 2). 90% of the time, men like to be the hunter, but once in a while we like to be the hunted. as much as YOU like to feel desired and wanted, men do to. ----so, if we've been having to chase you around for a long time and you rarely let us catch you, at some point the chase become futile and we give up. now, rather you like these two facts or not, that is the way it is. you can either adapt to them and work with us or you can not and move on. -

I've been eating it for a little while now, get some sugar free instant and mix it up kinda runny, then put in some kind of artificial sweetener. be warned though, it's very filling and has little nutritional value, so the other meals of the day will need to be more healthy than usual.

the bad breath thing is due to your body being in Ketosis, it's due to not eating carbs or sugars and your body burning fat instead of carbs for energy. I find sugar free "breath savers" work pretty good but you have to be careful how many you use a day, the sugar substitute they use will give you the runs. -
Talk To Me About Medicines
Helo-Tech replied to StrangelyNormal's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I guess I was lucky, the only thing I was taking pre-op was allopurinol for kidney stones, fortunately this is crushable. they started my on actigaul for gaul stones which is capsule so i can open it. I take both meds and pour them in a small pile on some sugar free pudding, one bite and they are gone, the pudding helps hide the flavor of them so they are not that terrible. -
Just had my sleeve done on Monday (30), had trouble going the first day or two but it wasn't because i didn't have any, I ended up needing a cath. which relieved 1400cc at one time, since then been going every couple hours and a fair amount each time, I don't what to suggest to you but I know that if your eating things like soup that have alot of salt you will retain fluids like crazy. becareful of your salt intake.

Morning everyone, headed to the hospital in a bit, going "under the knife" around 8:00a. I'll be joining everyone else on the "loosers bench" shortly.
