Almost 4 weeks post op

If you have a Kroger or an affiliate store near you, they have a store brand of chewable calcium. I buy the caramel and it is so good! And does not cost an arm and a leg. It almost tastes like an actual piece of Caramel. They also have chocolate, but it is too rich tasting for me, but you may like it. Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App

I Hate my Lap Band

I do not feel the same as you, I love my band. I love the fact I have lost around 75lbs, it was well worth it for me. But I do feel for you. I have had my band since May of 2012, and I too miss eating some foods. But as for you...you could go to your doctor and have him/her unfill your band completely. Maybe that would solve a lot of the not being able to eat solid Protein or vomiting when you eat too fast. I know when I had complications and had to have my band unfilled, I was able to eat anything (I hated that...I have no self control). If you have not given this a try maybe this would work. I know a fellow LapBander who once a year for 1 one month will have her band unfilled so she can have a taste of bread, solid protein and other things she is not able to eat with her band filled. Then after the month will have it filled again. I did consider doing this at one time, but decided against it. Maybe try this option. This is not the ideal thing to do, but realistically it may work for you...it does for my friend. Good luck.
6. I know I am a little late responding, but I had this very same thing happen with the waking up choking and barely able to drink Water. I went to my doctor and it was a slip. I had to have all the Fluid taken out. Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App Have you gone to the dr yet? Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App
7. I have had my band since 2012. I don't know if anyone else has this issue, please let me know if it may not be normal. When I actually get hungery and my stomach growls I have to eat something within 10 to 15 or it turns into server gas pains. It is agonizing until I get something on my stomach. After I eat a little something the gas will "work it's way out" so to say. This has been like this for a about a year. Does anyone else have this issue? Stumbling a little

But I need to catch myself before I fall too far. I have been hanging around 155-160 for the past couple of months and I have been fine with that. But tonight when I jumped on my scale it read 162.4. I have been looking back at what I have been eating and drinking and it has not even been my plan "z". Tomorrow is a new day and I will make new of it. It will be hard as I have NO restriction. I cannot get in with my dr until the 26th.
10. I will be traveling to San Deigo and staying for approx 4 to 5 months. I am 2 years out and do not anticipate any complications, but you never know. Does anyone know of a Dr. in the San Diego area that does adjustments? If they accept Tricare would be great, but not necessary. I would appreciate it greatly.

tricare prime, ns mayport florida

I did not have mine done there but there people on this board who have and are very happy with their surgeon. Maybe start a new post with the title "looking for a good surgeon in Jacksonville FL" and see the responses you get and take it from there. Also once you find your PCM he or she may have suggestions. Do you live on base? I did on Edwards Ave in the back. Living on base and being walking distance to the beach was so great! When the weather was warm I would send the kids to school and do my morning walk to the beach. I would sit on the steps and watch the dolphins swim. It was so relaxing! I miss it there so much. ????

Hey......We were stationed in Mayport! We were on the Semmes DD963 (decommissioned now) My daughter still lives there. I absolutely loved it! Anyway, with Tricare Prime there is no waiting time period or nutrition class you have to attend. You will just have to do a phyc eval, but that is it. If you are using the base clinic, I would recommend changing you PCM to a civilian doctor. Good luck!

unrelenting chest pain

I have that sometimes, but I am 1 1/2 years out. When it happens to me it is gas. I lay on my left side and completely relax. It just works its way down and out.
15. I went to my PCM the other day for a check up. She still has the old dinosaur weight scale. I had always wanted to not have to move that huge bottom weight past the 100 mark. I thought by the time I lost that much, those scales would be long gone! But none the less......it happened! 149.25 lbs. I did not have to move that bottom weight!!!!!!
16. I just tried Jay Robb Whey Protein and it was wonderful! It is a lot more pricey, but very good. I got sample packs from The Vitamin Shoppe.

College PhEd

I have a lot of trouble getting myself to stay with an exercise regimine. I will start then stop, then start then stop, so on and so on. So......I am taken college courses and I have decided to add PE to my course work. I spoke with the instructor and let him know I was really just looking for accountability. He agreed to work withmy so for the next 16 weeks I will be under his direction. I want this to get me in gear to continue on. And if not be will sign up for the next semester.

Tricare

My Dr. told me he only takes into account the BMI on the first visit. That is what he submits to Tricare. Was your BMI at least 40 on the 1st visit?
20. candtwalker

Tricare

My BMI at my first appt was 41.5. At the hospital day of surgery it was 39.9.

Rev Wraps?

Has anyone tried the new Hormel Rev Wraps? They are very high in protein, just wondering if anyone thought they were any good.

Rheumatiod Arthritis

I have RA and was banded in may 2012. I have not had any unusual problems, just the occasional flare up here and there. I am on prednesone, that is the only med my Dr is concerned about. But my dose is so low he just told me to be extra vigilant about signs of stomach issues.

What's your Green Zone??

B-52 -- I sent you a private message a few days ago. Don't know if I did it correctly. Did you get it?
25. I was banded May 14 of 2012. At first I could tell a big difference in myself, but since Jan I have not lost any weight and I feel like I did in the beginning......big. I know it must be phychological. I now wear a size a 12/14, but I feel I look really really big!
