I hope I look that good @ 50! You look great! -
I have been looking at several C25K apps on iTunes and I cannot decide which is the best. Can any one give me the pros and cons of the one you use. Will one of the free ones be good enough?

Wish I could pick the location of my port. It is at the level on my stomach that I "lean" on thing. Like the sink to do dishes or the vanity table when I am doing my hair and makeup. My port area is so sore from this. Does anyone else have this issue ?

I Agee with tym4me, I use my WW digital scale. I also went to the dollar store and bought measuring cups and spoons. I use all of these daily. When you are counting calories these are a must have.

Husband is so supportive but he refuses to give into letting his eating habits change. That part does not bother me in one bit shape or form. This is what bothers me: When we go shopping I buy healthy foods/snacks for me to eat. I ask him if he wants some and he tells me no, he will get his later. So he commences to buy little Debbie cakes all kind of Cookies and all things bad! Again it really don't bother me because I have some willpower. After we get home, that night he will bring out one of my Snacks and eat it in front of me. I hate to confront him with it being he is the only one bring income into the house but this goes on for a couple of days until all my snacks are completely gone. Then he starts eating his food/snacks! The biggest issue is..... we don't have the extra funds to go buy me nutritional snack/food after the first ones are gone. So I have to then sit and watch him eat his while I have nothing. At that point I sometimes lose my willpower for a little bit. I gets so frustrating. I have told him that I would buy good foods for his snacks instead of the cookies and he said no he has to have his cookies and junk food. He is one of my best cheerleaders for this journey. He has never even suggested one negative comment. In fact he did more research on getting the lapband than I did and was excited to share everything with me! How can I get him to understand that I need my healthy items and if he wants it too then he cannot have his junk food. Does anyone have any advice? Please help, Thanks, Carla

Where Is Your Port?
candtwalker replied to musicgirl713's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine is right above my belly button. Unfortunately I am kinda short (5'2") and every time I lean against my counter tops in the kitchen or the vanity in the bathroom, the port location is the same level. The port area is sore all the time. On a good note......I only have 2 scars one under my right breast (very tiny) and the other on IN my belly button (you cannot even see it). -
Yes, I feel the same way. In fact today I have been starving ALL day! I have been controlling myself, but it has been hard. I go for my 3rd fill on the 16th, I am going to ask for at least 1cc. I hope that will help with the feeling full thing.
-
I went in today for my 2nd fill and all went well. With my first fill, (3ccs) I had no restriction at all! This time he put in 2ccs. (total of 5ccs). My doctor has instructed me to be on a strict liquid diet until Monday. He said putting an additional 2ccs was aggressive and it may take my body that long to adjust to the fill. I hope I get at least some restriction! Only time will tell. I will keep all of you updated.
-
There is no guarantee you will feel restriction as everyone is different. I did feel a little' date=' but not a lot I am relying on willpower mostly. And yes I do slip up depending on my mood. I wish you luck on your next fill and I hope you get restriction, it does make it easier. Hang in there, be patient. This was not meant to be a quick fix.

What To Expect (Weight Loss Wise) In The First 6 Weeks
candtwalker replied to MairinNYC's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I really did not weigh myself at home until I saw my doctor for my follow up. The first 6-8 week are for healing not worry. When I did have my first post op visit, I was down 20lbs. I felt that was awesome for me! I now weigh myself dAily every morning, some say not to but I feel it is best for my situation. I don't get depressed if the weight goes up...... I just figure out what caused it, learn from it, and move on! -

How To Add Life To Your Protein Shake! And It Wont Cost You A Single Calorie
candtwalker replied to yourshoesareuntied's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks for the tip. I have given up on Protein shakes because I could not find one I liked. I am going to try my vanilla one with my favorite coffe flavor. Maybe that will help. -
Flying Rrght After A Fill?
candtwalker replied to sissy12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There is a patient ID card you can get thru Allergan if you have the Lapband brand. It has your name, the name of your surgeon, and a patient Id #. I keep mine in my wallet behind my drivers license in case of an emergency. I think Relize has one too but I don't know for sure. -
I had always read on the forums about sliming and really did not know what it really was.....until today. Had a really bad stuck episode and yep, I had slime. My question is: "Why" do we slime? Before this surgery I had never had that slime feeling in my mouth, even when I was about to get sick. So why now after surgery?

Sorry about the pain you had. I have had 2 fills with no numbing. My doc got it on the first try both times. No pain at all. I love my surgeon!
