OK...... I have come to terms my band is gonna talk to me when I eat! I am on Jury Duty all this week and I bring my lunch because of the obvious. It is so quiet in the jury room during lunch and as I am eating......my band is talking away! Kind of funny yet embarrassing at the same time. Taking it one day at a time.

Are you in the South Region? I know you said you were on the fence with your BMI, but are you at least 40? Taking it one day at a time.

I am in Texas. After I had my nutrition consult and my psych eval, it only took 10 days to get approval from Tricare. Total time from 1st doctor visit to surgery was 3 months. Taking it one day at a time.

Hi Carla, I'm Carla too! I have Tricare Prime South. I had no issues getting approved. But different regions have different provisions. Taking it one day at a time.

I was banded 5/14/12 and I have the same issue. I talked with my doctor and he said unfortunately I will probably always have this discomfort due to the port location. He did suggested for me to possibly wear a lower rise jean. My port is just above my belly button. Taking it one day at a time.

I am just now able to shop in the "normal" section, although in the bigger sizes of the normal section. I find myself looking at the other women and smiling thinking "WOW am I really able to wear the same cute things that "skinny mini" woman is able to wear!" It is a good feeling! Taking it one day at a time.

For those of you who use the app, do you find that it is more difficult to add an entry to the diary than before? I have not used the app for about a month or two and now that I am getting back to it, I feel it is very time consuming trying to add an entry to the diary now. Maybe I am missing something, but does anyone else feel this way? and if there is a more efficient way of doing it, let me know.

candtwalker replied to NJinspector's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Good luck to both of you! It is an exciting journey with both ups and downs. But the final result will be beautiful! -
and she is winning! I had my last fill 6 weeks ago and have been doing fine. A little tight ever so often, but this weekend it has been war! 2 days ago I was a tight. Today I have been so tight I cannot even eat. Drinking is even hard. Hopefully tomorrow brings peace in my banded world. If not I will call the doc to get advice.

Anyone Try The Rx Phentermine And The Band?
candtwalker replied to littlefroggy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was given phenterimine for over a year by my dr. Now I have found out after numerous medical issues it should have only been prescribed for no longer than 3 months. I took it 4 years ago ( for weight loss of course). It was great, I had a lot of energy, I could clean my entire house in about 3 hours (I have a 2200 sqft home) do high cardio aerobics for hours and I lost lots and lots of weight. It was wonderful! Then about 9 months into it I started having ringing in my ears. Which has now turned in to neuropathy on my left side if my face. ( it is completely numb) my eye sight got really bad while I was on the drug but slowly got a bit better , not completely. I have chronic dry eyes because of all this and to this day have severe headaches. Yes I lost almost 90lbs with the drug. And I felt great! If i knew then what i know now, I wish I had never taken it because if the medical issues My new dr says these medical issues will be long term and were directly caused by phenterimine ! By the way.......I gained back 102lbs taking me above where I started! -
