  1. Milk of magnesia is a lifesaver! And won't make you have cramping.
  2. Thanks for all the advice. I will do some walking to start! I go to my dr on Friday so hopefully he can let me know when I can go back to class. Thanks again, I appreciate it!
  3. Thanks! That helps! I was worried about it:)

    Itchy???

Ok update: Steroids worked great, rash is almost completely faded, glue finally cane off, and itching has subsided. I hope my recovery hell is over! I'm going back to work tomorrow so wish me luck!
  5. Post op 9 days. I just switched to the puréed diet yesterday. I was really sick of soup! I had a scrambled egg for breakfast, mashed potatoe for lunch, and mashed white fish at dinner. It was awesome! But then today I had my shake and I started having stomach issues all day. Could not stop going to the restroom. Do y'all think this is from the diet switch from liquids to puréed?
  6. How much water can you drink at a time? I'm having trouble drinking 64oz a day. Can you stretch it if you drink too fast? Thanks!

    2Nd Fill..too Tight???

I started purée diet today and I made one scrambled egg this morning ( with milk of course!) and after scrambling it, I chopped it very well with the spatula. I ate it slowly since this was my first food since being on liquids, but I had no issues and enjoyed every bite:)
  11. I ordered the book listed above. Will be here in 2 days! Check amazon.com it has great reviews and price is under $10!!! Can't beat it! Thanks for the tip:)

    Under The Gown Jitters!

Totally naked under the gown and had started my period when I woke up from surgery! So embarrassing! I wasn't supposed to start for a few more days, but surgery I'm sure brought it on.
  13. Oh and I requested the full amount of the surgery and got approved.
  14. I used care credit for mine. I have a 35 BMI with no health problems so I knew I would be self pay. Care Credit is through GE Money which does financing for most large purchases ( furniture, appliances, etc) very reputable company. Just ask the dr office what plans they offer. Mine would only give me 6 months no interest or I could pay an additional $500 to get 12 months no interest, so I opted for one of the long term fixed interest of 9.99% for 4 years. That way I know I could make the payments. Just applied on their website and gave the dr office my account number and that was it. No down payment required.
  15. I had scrambled eggs this morning( very chopped!) but it was the best egg I had ever had! Making mashed potatoes for dinner! Can't wait:)
  16. On the gas it's completely normal. Everyone gets it. Use gasx and milk of magnesia( worked better for me) and make sure you walk around, to help it pass. Your second question I would also like to know the answer. I was banded on the 7th and have had coughing spells and yesterday I had the hiccups, I was scared I was going to move the band!!!
  17. Thank you, I'm definitely going to check that out. I know I'm probably paranoid, but I want to make sure I eat the right foods for the band. Also I want to do this right and lose the weight!
  18. See my thread "itchy" I have put updates on there. I'm now on steroids to try to finally end this!
  19. I have been on the full liquid diet for a week now and I have had strained cream soup and cream of wheat on my doctor's list for the puréed diet it does have scrambled eggs mashed potatoes but it also says noodles did you take noodles on the diet?
  20. I had mine on the 7th. If you read more on here you will see everone goes through the " what the hell did I do to myself" stage. The pain is bad for 2-3 days. Try to take a lot of deep breaths. And if you get up you have to use your arm and legs, don't use your stomach muscles. Then comes the gas.... The milk of magnesia worked way better for me than the gasx. Just take 1 tbsp 2 times a day. Don't take the pain meds too long cause they cause constipation. I an now dealing with a horrific rash from being allergic to the dermabond. Finally got a script today for steroid pills. Hopefully my "hell" will end soon!!! Good luck and hang in there!

    Itchy???

I am totally with you, but every day I'm feeling better. Update: called dr today again about rash all around my incisions and it is pretty much spotty on the rest of my stomach. He called in a script for some sort of steroid pills. He said they may make me more hungry and have increased energy, but those were the only side effects. The pills take a few days to work, it's a 6 day regime. Well I can tell you this. I am wired! Well I guess you can say I have the most energy I've had since the surgery. I actually cleaned my whole kitchen tonight, and I'm still awake. Crazy, but I'm glad for the break of misery! Let's hope this works!

    March Bandsters!

Oh and don't take pepto that will constipate you. Did your dr give u anything for nausea? Are you still taking pain meds too? I stopped taking it because that also makes the constipation and gas worse.

    March Bandsters!

Go buy milk of magnesia It's works much better than gas ex. It has been alleviating all my gas and I had my first BM yesterday which was normal. Just take a 1 tbsp 2 times a day and see if that helps, if it's not working take 2 tbsp. gas x doesn't work on everyone. The milk of magnesia saved me!
