Warning: What I've Learned About Eating Slower....
Loneil replied to marfar7's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Wow I just read your story and unfortunately I have not had any nausea or vomiting but I'm fairly new at this. I got banded in March and I'm up to 5cc in a 10cc band right now. What I would be scared for you is that you are almost making yourself have a different eating disorder. Your body will get used to just throwing up right after you eat. Which of course is unhealthy and also will keep causing your slippage issues. I can't believe you threw up in half a cup of pudding!!!?? Something is definitely wrong. I understand when you say "you like the bad food" I think we all do! So if I was you I would def keep the band. Get it fixed, and make sure you are not throwing up anymore. You just gotta give yourself NO OPTION. You can do it! -
Unfortunately this has been the hardest thing for me after surgery. I have been cheating by doing this. But why can't you do it? I've had no issues with it. Is it messing up my weight loss success?

Why Cant You Eat And Drink At The Same Time?
Loneil replied to Loneil's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks for all the comments! I had my last fill on Tuesday and I'm up to 5cc in a 10cc band. I definitely feel a difference this time. ( I think!) since this post I have not been eating and drinking and will continue on this road. It is very hard, but I know I will have to do it to be successful. All of your comments have helped and encouraged me so much! Thank you!!!! -
My biggest problem after surgery is I do the big no no of eating and drinking together. I don't do it all the time, but last night I was out with friends and I did. I had a fruity mixed drink and I barely ate anything because my stomach started hurting so bad. Can eating and drinking together cause this? Or did I just get food stuck? I just found out I'm being demoted at work, and they are transferring me to an hr away location. I have been completely bummed the last three days and totally off the program. I'm now getting worried I'm messing things up. I have anxiety bad too, and I have been having a nervous stomach going through all this stress. I woke up twice in the middle of the night my stomach still in pain! But when I woke this morning it's finally gone. Sorry for the novel here, just really need some help! Thank you:)

Don't want to sound like I'm an alcOholic or anything, but at times I enjoy a glass of red wine. I'm 2 weeks post op, have a bridal shower I'm hosting on April 1st and was wondering of its ok to drink? I totally forgot to ask the doctor. And if so has anyone had any issues with drinking? I know it's empty calories...
-
No worries I just didn't want anyone to think I was drinking 3 days post op! I was on pain meds then! I don't know how anyone could!
-
I am the one that asked the initial question and I was 4 weeks post op when I hosted the bridal shower. I had 2 glasses of wine that night, had lots of fun, and no issues! No weight gain or stomach issues. I only drink socially with my girlfriends once a month. If I thought I had to give that up to lose weight that would be nuts!

Had my first fill on tuesday and the needle hurt like a b*#+=] !!! Felt better afterwards though. I have my next one in 4 more weeks. My dr days he does it gradually so I won't have issues. Lost 17 lbs so far:)

I have my first fill on Tuesday. I was doing really well with the band until the last week I feel like I can eat anything! And am getting hungry again:( I'm trying hard to just control it bit I'm not eating as little as I was right after surgery. I asked my dr on my post op appt, how much was in the band and he said he barely leaves any on there. I'm hoping this fill helps! I don't feel restriction anymore. Don't know if it's because the swelling is gone or because I've lost weight. Any thoughts?
