Peanut Butter? Pureed Or Not Pureed? That Is My Question...

Thanks everyone. I am sure this is normal, but the pureed stage is rough. I have only one more week, which I think I can handle. Looking forward to a bite of peanut butter tonight!

Peanut Butter? Pureed Or Not Pureed? That Is My Question...

Thanks for the info. I am in the same boat with the soup and eggs. I think I'll try ricotta today!
  3. I can't wait to buy matching bra and undies from Victoria's Secret.

    Day 01 Exercise!

Are you being a bit too hard on yourself?
  5. hope2Bfitand40

    Hello!

Welcome! I lived on here for the first 2 weeks! I'm 3 weeks post op, and feel a lot more normal now.

Feel Like I Did Something Wrong

At 11 days, you are still healing. I would encourage you to focus on the healing before the weight loss. Hang in there.

    Unjury

I've mixed the unflavored powder with yogurt. There is no taste at all.

    Unjury

I really enjoy the broth, as I am sick sick sick of sweet protien shakes! (2 weeks post op + 1 week liquid diet)

    Low Iron

Mama, I don't know much about anemia. And no, the Novasure didn't help much with mood swings, maybe a little, but not measurably so. However, I had to take alternating ibuprofen and Tylenol daily when on my period. The pain was so bad, and I am less irritable now.

I Can't Do This Pre Op Diet!

It is hard. I cheated twice: one bite of cheese and one piece of Werthers candy. Then I realized, it is a slippery slope and I will never stop, unless I stop. So I stayed the course and made it all the way, and I was so proud of myself. If you're gonna cheat, drink an extra shake. Best of luck!

    Low Iron

I'm 40 now, and I had Novasure in 2-1/2 years ago. I have been very pleased with the results. I know when I am having a period, but I never need any more than a pantyliner, and most of the time, not even that. I used to have very heavy bleeding and cramping. I no longer feel cramping at all. I wouldn't hesitate one bit to do that again! Hope this helps! Best.

Weigh The Same As When I Had Surgery

I did feel that way at first, but this week, that has subsided. From what I have read here, it has to do with swelling. When the swelling goes down, the pressure is less. Hope you feel better!

    Hiatal Hernia

I had a hiatal hernia repair, and I don't think my recovery was any worse. I did take my pain medicine regularly about the first week. On day 6, it was like a switch and I started feeling better and being able to take drinks, rather than sips. I don't have any more specific info on the hernia, as I see my doctor tomorrow. I am 2 weeks post op (today) and I feel great. Hope this helps!

    New To This

I am two weeks post op, and I am still using a pillow to support me when I sleep on my side. It really helps, but honestly, I was about 6 days out before I could lay comfortably in any position. At day 6, though, it was like a light switch and I started feeling better all around. Hang in there!

Weigh The Same As When I Had Surgery

I've lost about 15 pounds, including the 6 from the pre-op diet (one week). I am now 2 weeks post op. I'm a little disappointed because I see all of these 20+ pound losers in the first weeks, and I am only at 9 from the surgery (in 14 days). I hope I didn't do all of this to lose 15 pounds. On the other hand, being 15 pounds lighter does feel great.
  17. I watched too. Big mistake!

Weigh The Same As When I Had Surgery

It will go away, but it took about 12 days for me. I kept calling my doctor's office asking if it was normal. I took my pain meds fairly regularly, and it helped with the shoulder ache.

Weigh The Same As When I Had Surgery

I think this is normal due to the IV (even at 158). Much rest and speedy recovery to you!
  20. Your post gave me goosebumps! I am hoping to run someday too. And I am thinking maybe I'll try that Jillian Michaels workout. Great idea! Best to you, let us know how the 5k goes!

    Advice Needed

Wow, have you talked to your VSG surgeon? I would try to get an opinion from another doctor who has more experience with the WLS before making a decision. Best of luck!

    Nausea And Pooping

I'm almost two weeks post-op I have experienced some nausea. My doc gave me nausea pills that dissolve on my tongue, and I have used those twice, so stop the nausea after taking my Vitamin. I have always suffered from constipation, and I think my acid reflux is worse when I am. I've taken Milk of Magnesia twice since surgery to relieve it. I don't "go" a lot, as not a lot is going in. And I agree with whomever said what goes in is what is coming out. It is all liquid thus far. I also think drinking enough Water helps with the constipation. The worst days were during the first week, and now, I feel fairly normal again, but I am looking forward to non-liquid food in the next couple of days!

    Best Yogurt Ever! 8-)

Greek yogurt is higher in protein that regular yogurt. Don't know if they have it where you are, Sally, but worth looking into.

    Tell Me I'm Not Crazy

I don't know with your BMI, but I started at 220 lbs and I am 5' 2" which made my BMI 40. I have lost 14 pounds in 2-1/2 weeks and I do feel much better. Have you considered trying a week or two weeks of the liquid diet to see if you can lose anything that way? It would not hurt to meet with a surgeon and get some advice before making a decision. Best of luck to you!

2 Days Post Op- Worst Feeling Ever

fitbottom, My first thought is to be certain you take the liquid Tylenol on schedule and don't let the paid get ahead of you. I am 11 days post op (with a hernia & diaphragm repair too) and I am still taking the pain meds two or three times a day. I get a heavy/full feeling in my abdomen, and sometimes I just generally ache. The pain med staves off the ache, which does help with a general feeling of well being. The day I turned the corner was day 6, and it was after I made myself choke down a second Protein shake for the day. I had only been drinking one up to that point. The additional protein really helps. This is more difficult than I expected, but alas, it is not insurmountable. Hang in there, and be sure to get the help you need from your doctor to feel better. Oops, "pain" not "paid"
