Approved & Husband Acting Funny
kristinc1985 replied to fashionstylist's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My husband was never interested in it. He thought it was dangerous. I started this journey alone. When I talk about it now, he isn't super responsive. Lol. He sees that I'm okay. But he's a man. Disinterest is a man thing for ya. Lol. I'm happy, so I'm like "whatever dude" to him. Lol -

My breaking point! And yours?
kristinc1985 replied to Newme32's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My biggest breaking points where how uncomfortable I was, how I looked when I looked in the mirror, and the fact I was wearing a size 28 pants. I just couldn't do it any longer... -

Introduction (Per first message)

Welcome, welcome!! -
Today I stopped by meijer with my seven year old to buy him some new boxers. I decided while I was there to purchase myself some summer pajamas since I don't have any. I avoided the plus size section, logically knowing they'd be too big. I picked up some XL and studied them for a second. My son isn't the most patient, so I couldn't try them on. I looked at that XL thinking they'd be too right, but knowing if they were "it wouldn't be long" until they looked decent. I got home, put them on, and they're actually slightly baggy. Is my brain ever going to catch up and compute that I'm the size I am now while clothes shopping? Lol! Do any of you others do this? I guess it's a good problem to have.... And a good NSV.

You can still eat Chinese fried rice. Just not a ridiculous serving. I still enjoy my favorite foods, just on a much smaller scale. And that's enough for me because I've turned a negative into a positive. Instead of mourning that I cannot eat an entire restaurant serving, I've learned to love the fact I've got leftovers that I can eat on 2~3 times before they're gone. It's awesome!! Saves money, and instead of just savoring the flavor once, I can have it 2~3 times more. I love that! Lol

Thoughts of fear - how did you talk yourself out of them?
kristinc1985 replied to TheDuchess's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Many people have already said something similar... But... I as well was completely tired of my situation. Of being fat, of being sick. I felt as though it was my only alternative.... And although the unknown is terrifying, the thought of continuing my life how it was felt worse. That's how I became brave. -

Agreeing with everyone else. Don't get involved... Yet. Let them try to hash it out. If they make no leeway, FIGHT THAT NONSENSE! -

You're telling me. I was a ball of nerves. I don't hate traditional surgery but I hate the unknown. WLS felt like that. But I'd do it again. -
Weight Watchers
kristinc1985 replied to dream_small2013's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
And did I learn anything from weight watchers? Not really... I've always known how to eat correctly.... Just never was able to retain weight loss.... I always lost doing program, though.
