    Vomitting Question Pls Help!

Sounds like too much sugar. Bright yellow vomit might be bile. Try to stick to protein and not even a tiny bite of something sugary...especially if you're also drinking around that time. I find that sugar effects me if I drink too soon before or after.
  6. Hii, Sleeved 4/18. I have only lost 12 pounds, but I was expecting slow weight loss. I am 38 yo, 5', SW:202, CW:190. I am ok getting in Protein and fluids, but I can't seem to get into a routine. Some days I can eat 3 oz at lunch and some days 1 oz. it is so hard to plan with such inconsistency. My surgeon told me that most people can eat more later in the day. Anyone else notice patterns?

    Dumping Causes

I absolutely had a dumping incident. I am 5 weeks out. I treated myself to a spa day and sipped on water for the 4 hours that I was there. In the midst of the day, I ate 1 dried date. About 3 hours after I ate the date, I was clammy, cramping, sweaty, heart racing etc. for me, it was the sugar washed through the stomach too quickly by sipping the water. I ate a date the next day without drinking and was fine.
  8. I don't believe that banishing food forever works. You were on vacation, enjoyed yourself, and now you're back. Just like you were off work and "fancy free" when you're back, you're back...and the same should hold true for food. Maybe try going back to shakes for a few days and get those carbon out of your system. Good luck!
  9. I can have crispy bread. Toast, crackers, matzoh, rice cakes
  10. Pre- op, my fears: I will never be able to eat like a Normal person again I will miss my favorite foods I can't possibly eat so much Protein I am afraid of the nausea I am afraid of the pain I am afraid of dying under anesthesia I am afraid of the surgeon damaging my liver I am afraid of waking up after anesthesia and being really nauseous and sick I am afraid of a leak I am afraid of my tastes changing I am afraid that I will have an obstruction I am afraid of contracting a hospital born virus I am afraid my energy will never return POST OP TRUTHS: 2 weeks out and I am eating and tolerating GOOD food There is nothing so far that I couldn't eat: panera Soups, chili, lobster, portabella mushrooms, bean Soup with cheese and sour cream I make protein a priority, 50 grams (shake plus a Greek yogurt by noon) I haven't had 1 nauseous moment except for right after surgery and zofran fixed that The pain was a 2 out of 10. I was off the Diluadid drip the next day and never took the hydro condone Once home. I did feel some heaviness in my lower belly and the gas was no biggie. I walked 3 hrs after surgery a d just kept walking Anesthesia was a brainer. The anesthesiologist asked me about my job and then told me it was over! They were awesome I woke up feeling totally fine. A little discomfort, but coherent and not in pain Had a leak test in the hospital and all clear My tastes have changed, but for the better. Too sweet turns me off Everything is moving through the system as planned...no obstruction Wounds healed in a few days, was s.epping on my belly by day 3 2 weeks out and I am doing the revlon run walk in NYC So happy with how I feel and food has been deprioritized from my mind. I do get craving and I do feel genuine hunger, but I am able to address it. I ate cheese and crackers for dinner tonight...I had a yearning for it and i made it work. To anyone debating...go for it! I can't tell you how your mind and body change for the good once your on the losers bench!

    1 Week Post Op Today

Same for me. So many reasons...but it does come off. I was retaining fluid, I could feel it in my lower abdomen for the first 2 weeks...then poof it disappeared as I healed.
  13. My surgeon requires puréed food from 3 days post op to 2 weeks and then mashies for 2 weeks. The mushed food is of coarse better than the puréed. I can eat soups, seafood, fish and cheeses pretty easily. Really it depends on the day... I have had food get stuck because I ate too much or too fast, but I am getting better at gauging...it is such a learning process. As for weight... HW:226, Preop diet:208, SW:202, 2 weeks postoperative:193. Current weight is unknown...I refuse to weigh myself and battle with the scale right now. But I can tell my clothes are so loose!

    ~April Sleevers~

Sleeved 4/18. Pain was a 3 out of 10 and nausea a 4 out of 10. All easily resolved with meds. Really gaing trouble getting the shakes a d liquids in. Lots of air getting swallowed and weird sensations, but better each day. I can't stand the favors that I liked just a week ago...but am doing ok. The first few days are hard..trying to get it all in when you're swollen. But is has gotten much better. Good luck to all!
  17. So I take bariatric fusion tropical fruit, sugar free chocolate calcium chews, fiber fusion sugar free gummies. I look SO forward to taking them....like they are a treat! I found myself taking an extra serving of fiber chews because I just love them. Anyone else?

    Completely Terrified

My surgery in 4/18 and I feel exactly the same. I am shaking with nerves for the same reasons. Then I got to..it 's better than having heart bypass surgery in 20 years or having limbs removed due to diabetese. So many people have gone before and have paved the way for us. Just keep thinking about this great thing you're doing for your long term healh and well being.

1St Day Pre Op- Meltdown And Sick!

I am on day 10 of pre op diet and feel your pain! I was dizzy lighjt headed and so weak. I admit that I cheated on Easter, but not anywhere near the normal bottomless pit that I can be. It does get a bit better, but I found myself counting the minutes to go to bed just so it would be over.

    1 Month Out Today!

I kind of feel differently about the daily weigh ins. They help me understand the nature of what my body is doing and how different things effect me. For instance, I can actually feel PMS starting (boobs-ugh!) and then see it on the scale. If I eat out (tends to be salty), I see water retention on the scale. Maybe it's just me...I take the gains and losses in stride...but frequent weigh ins help me learn and remain accountable. It's more scary, for me, when I avoid the scale.
  23. I think that is the sliming everyone refers to.
