Rapid weight loss question
skinnywithin replied to Sooner girl36's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
really its your choice to share your info or not. people need to respect that. Ive been questioned and just said Im on a diet/exersice plan, watching what I eat. then I quickly but casually change the subject and ask them how there doing. Im open with some people when I feel comfortable, but really its my business. surgery for weight loss seems to be a misunderstood topic with most people who still believe in the "natural" way and they dont understand that maybe some peoples bodies are different. dont feel like your obligated to tell your story at all. -
Depressed and distressed! Help!
skinnywithin replied to kimmy42083's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I totally agree with the others too. maybe you need to switch it up. Im a person that cant loose weight if I eat any amount of carbs or starch. maybe thats you too? -

Im 4 months post op an I will actually have 1/3 - 1/2 cup portion once a week. it my one and only cheat, and it goes down well. it doesnt make me gain or loose that day but its worth it to me lol. I was told by my nurse that carbs will get suck in my throat, or I would have dumping syndrome. well they dont lol Im happy about that. I can handle them in very small amounts. I havent told this to my nurse though. Really if its not affecting me in a negative way then I think its ok. -

Does anyone else feel this way?
skinnywithin replied to deedeemuffin's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have my up and down moments too...for me it was because I am an emotional eater and havent been dealing with my emotions with food anymore, therefor, not dealing with them at all. also I automatically have this thought in my head that this is too good to be true and it will all come back or stop completely before my goal weight. I would suggest talking to someone you never know, it may help. chin up girl you can get through it. Hugs -
needing some inspiration..or a kick in the butt
skinnywithin posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had my sleeve done November 30 2012. I have lost 34 pounds since then. kinda slow for my expectations... I was seeing all these stories of people loosing like 30 pounds a month for the first three months so I was very excited of that possibility. but I have only lost 15 pounds a month this has brought me down.... I eat healthy, 15-20 carbs per day, watch my fat intake, and calories. I guess I just need some inspiration to pick me up to get back on the wagon. Ive been lazy when it comes to working out, and I know that if I tried harder it would happen faster. HELP!!! I need some encouragement!! -
needing some inspiration..or a kick in the butt
skinnywithin replied to skinnywithin's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums

I guess i needed to see things in perspective like u all said. Ive lost half my weight, (incredible!) , in only 2 months! THANK YOU everyone! and i just went and got a new pair of jeans and to my surprise im a size 13!!!! down 4 sizes!!! now Im motivated. -
what about sugarless drinks made with splenda? i know theres an splenda ice tea with 0 carbs out there. u can find a lemonade recipe and swap the sugar out for splena. use real lemon juice, water, lemon slices and splenda. its soo good! 0 carbs, 0 calories and YUMMY!

Why yes - that is my collar bone!
skinnywithin replied to ShannonK's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I know the feeling!!! I found my long lost jaw bone and my hip bone that I thought I would never find! lol its too funny when you discover something that may seem small to others but to us its huge! I get so excited with each new discovery! lolol keep up the good work girl! -
I just want to say your making the right choice and good luck! you have the right frame of mind taking it one step at a time, thats what this is all about. its funny but for me afterwards foods I liked I now hate. they make me feel sick, and its painful to digest so I actually enjoy healthy options more. Always remember that if people judge you for not doing this the "natural way" that this takes a person who has allot of strength, determination and not just anyone can do it. we all know the "natural way" doesnt just work magically for everyone! I hope it all goes smoothly for you and good luck girl!

So I have decided to cut out as many preservatives as possible from my diet. I want to eat as organic as possible, no flour except chic pea flour, spelt flour or almond flour. no sugar, even splenda or fake sugar substitutes either. I will use raw honey. lol Im definitely taking on a challenge but I feel this will be a positive change for me and my family. Im trying to source out some recipes using organic ingredients that are both flavorful and filling. Just wondering if anyone has ideas or recipes to share with me?

stomach pain when you drink?
skinnywithin replied to kimmy42083's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
totally my case a swell except the pain was so bad when I took a small sip of water that it felt like I was being stabbed. I was re admitted after only one day of being home because they were very concerned for me. they thought I had a leak. But after lots of tests they found nothing wrong, so they decided it must have been severe sensitivity to anything in my stomach. I was very swollen for a week but after that things got way better. I was able to drink 1/2 a ensure drink over the period of an hour lol but it was something! I still have very small intake but I feel good. Im 2 months out now. I can eat allot more variety now which is nice. dont worry it gets better as time goes on -
looking for natural healthy recipes
skinnywithin replied to skinnywithin's topic in Regular foods (stage 4)
thanks! I will check out pintrest. i love that site I just never thought of using it for recipes. almond four is expensive here, really no matter where you buy it. I used to buy almonds from costco and grind them into flour myself, with my food processor. and whenever I go to washington I buy it there cause its half the price! have you tried online? maybe you will have better luck! -
10 days post op and feeling weak and tired, is this normal?
skinnywithin replied to lissa2270's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I felt the same way until the third week. I figured out I needed to eat small portions every two hours in order to feel my best. I make sure I get allot of protein too. it makes the difference. I was eating maybe 1/3 cup of food three times per day, though I was feeling full on that it wasnt enough. what I I was feeling was restriction which I was mistaking for the feeling being full. its all about learning your new stomach. now if I keep on top of eating something every two hours, I can do anything. work out, do my house chores, go for a day of shopping, etc. to keep it easy i always pack ensure for emergencies, fruit, and protein bars. it makes it easier when Im out for the day. Dont worry it will get better as you relearn your stomach! good luck and congrats on your weight loss! -
so Im wondering if anyone has any advice for me. I got my sleeve done november 30 2012 and Ive lost 22 pounds since. but Ive hit a stall now. it bounces between 1 pound up, and one pound down....any advice to get this moving again?

7 WEEKS POST OP! Before and After picture!
skinnywithin commented on Zazi's blog entry in From Lapband to Sleeve
thanks u have now validated for me that I need to choose the right foods. I have been eating very small portions prob 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup portions 3 times daily. but I can tolerate some bread, crackers, and carbs that arent good ones. i tend to go for them instead of healthier choices. but now I am set on eating only foods that are the most nutritious for me. thank you! your right, its about changing what up in ur head as well that makes the difference! -
