Let them know in advance that you will need time off for private reasons. Many people do this, it shouldn't be a problem.

I did hear about that on the radio. I do commend him for going public with it. It sure is not easy for people especially the American public to be estimating or criticizing your weight loss or lack of. -

Slightly controversial drink (wine, spirit, beer) poll
chitowngirl replied to Fiddleman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love moscato and margaritas on the rocks. I drink maybe a drink or two once a month. I am a year out so there have been a time or two when I have drank quite a few past my limits. I don't like to drink very often because the whole transfer I addictions, and because I usually want to eat after a night out. -
I am a year out and have take. A few road trips. I do take nuts and I will pull over at Wendy's and order chili. Their chili has been a life saver when I'm on the road and there's no room for a cooler. I'm taking a road trip in a few weeks and I will be taking kind bars. I'm so loving those things they are all natural no processed crap, they do have carbs, but they are the good healthy carbs that your body needs. You can also take jerky.

Forgetting for the moment pounds lost, lets talk about what changes our shape the most
chitowngirl replied to Globetrotter's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Although I really don't enjoy it very much I have always seen results with running. Interval running is preferable. I also love the stair master that machine is a beast. I remember only being able to only do 3 minutes on that machine. Now I can do about 20 minutes, I'm sure I could go longer if I wanted to but I've been so busy with school and work that I have t been able to focus on my fitness regimen so much. Now his last few months I've taken up yoga and I must admit I love it. I think it has over had a positive effect on my body and mind. -

Don't freak out, this I only temporary. Before you know it your stomach will be able to tolerate all and any foods. For these few fragile months when you can only eat bites if food at a time, embrace them. It is when you have the most restriction, and tend to loose the most weight. Take advantage.

Hello everyone. I was curious. I am a year out and for some reason I can eat a lot of salad. However I do tend to eat my salads with spinach. I did notice one when I had a salad with romaine lettuce I got full much faster. For example I have made salads for lunch, I have been doing the salad in a mason jar thing (which works really well) I have been using the quart size jar. I also have been able to eat the whole salad. I would say about 2/3 of the jar is spinach. For the rest of the veggies I use cucumbers, about 5 mini cherry tomatoes, and some orange peppers along with about 3-4 ounces of chicken breast with vinigerette dressing. And for the record salad is the only thing that I can eat such a large portion of. Is anyone else able to eat so much salad?

Surgeons working at multiple hospitals
chitowngirl replied to gibson_girl's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I work in the medical field and actually many doctors especially specialist work out of several facilities. I don't know much about the doctors in Mexico, I just want you to know that it is not all that uncommon here in the US. -

clothing exchange prices for clothes and shipping
chitowngirl replied to Tink22-sleeve's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I agree on the giving away of stuff. Maybe you can participate in a clothing exchange, where you can pickup some items that will soon be fitting you. The only thing is they can be hard I find, you can try to ask a local surgeons office to coordinate one. -
Started 'Couch to 5k today' Anyone keen?
chitowngirl replied to *Dean*'s topic in Fitness & Exercise
So fiddleman, how did you learn these techniques? We're you able to learn via reading a book? I'm asking because there are workshops in my area, they cost about $200 for a full day workshop. I don't mind spending the money, especially if it something that will help me with running. At school I'm taking a core fitness class that focuses on breathing, alignment and posture needed for proper exercise. I have to admit the stuff I have learned in this class has helped me tremendously, so I'm well aware that posture and breathing can make a huge difference. -

I also had plantar fasciitis, I was told to freeze a bottle of water, once it's frozen roll it under your foot back and forth.
